Infinity Ward confirms: CoD Ghost is 720p on Xbox One, 1080p on PS4

You can laugh all you want, but think about it. If there are really that many more pixels in a 1080p game, then wouldn't they need more than twice the employees to fill in the graphics for those pixels? The employees who work on the fun parts of the PS4 version will have to spend more time making graphics for the extra pixels.

LOL, well done. And damn, those PC developers must be stripping out all the fun to finish all those extra graphics to fill in the pixels on 2560x1600 resolution!

I can't wait to see how boring 4K games end up once all the time is spent on pixels and none of the development is spent on fun.

Can you change your PS4 wallpaper? What about listening to some MP3s?

I guess not every metric then...

DESPERADO, Oley!

Is the best analogy for 720p vs 1080p be the blurriness you experience when you're watching a video off youtube? You need to wait that annoying bit where it kills your eyes before it actually becomes HD...

And if you think about it, it makes sense as to why the colors in the Xbox One version of BF4 are so "crushed." Instead of using up a bunch of pixels displaying different shades of really light objects, or different shades of shadowed or black objects, the engineers at MS found a way to save pixels and graphics power by just making light and dark areas pure black or white. I mean, we know what boring things like skin and clothes and skies look like, so if the system can take unnecessary pixels and use that extra power to make things like extra soldiers on the screen (drawn out the extra pixels I mean), then go for it.

Fuck I hated those few seconds. I DLed a firefox add on that automatically sets it to the highest setting, hasn't been a problem since.

It's more like watching HD TV versus a blu-ray disk. Such as, the HD TV looks good until you put in a blu-ray and see what your TV is really capable of displaying.

I'm starting to think XB1 can't do 60 fps at higher than 720p with deferred engines. Remember that weird golf game. That runs at 720p too and looks bad even for current-gen.

Wanna bet this a 60 fps title too?

I seriously need to revisit all the threads from 2012 where countless people were claiming MS would have the more powerful console and that the Xbox 720 would be the preferred development platform for ALL 3rd party developers... thus the Xbox brand continuing it's dominance with 3rd party content... Oh and Sony unable to use more than 2GB of RAM!

When I have a terrible day and need a good laugh... I'll revisit those threads.

Yes. Probably. No.

Looks like background wars will have to wait until next gen~

Damn. Both Sony and Microsoft greedy for those store purchased backgrounds I imagine. Twats. Could this functionality theoretically be patched in?

MP3 playback surely can?

Is someone keeping a track of the resolutions and framerates of next-gen games? Is there a comprehensive list in the making?

Also... when do you find out AC4 details?

Yeah someone made one. It's around.

AC4 is definitely 1080p on PS4. No idea for XB1. I'm not even sure anyone has seen the game run on that platform.

Let's keep our perspective here: not all developers are created equal.

Launch titles are sometimes notorious for being ugly or otherwise not reflective of what the hardware is capable of. Especially when we're talking about a box that is objectively more complicated to work with than the competition.

Forza seems like an anomaly at this point, lol.

Edit:although, I guess that doesn't have deferred elements.

Why do you think it is, that so many people like the way the saturated looks more than the PS4 version? After I had time to compare all the footage side by side (not using the DF footage), it's clear to me that the PS4 version looks much more superior. Yet I still see a lot of people saying the prefer the way the Xbox One version looks.

I saw similar reactions with friends and people I know in real life, who claimed they liked the way the Xbox One looked. Now, I doubt they would be saying that if they saw both of these on a proper HDTV (then the resolution and jaggies would become more obvious). Just surprised I guess though, seeing so many people preferring the more saturated look.

Please do not let me serve on a jury. I am actually a crazy person.
41 pages? WHAT?
And just 43 hits of "balance", tsk, tsk. Get better, GAF.
