Didn't famounmortimer cosign all of it too?
Oh lord. Yes, I heard that snap was causing problems. I'm still hearing that snap is causing problems. What i wrote about on my blog has nothing to do with snap.
Well I had gotten a PM from cboat which I was cheekily assuming that thuway did also. But i don't report cboat PM's as news because that's cboat's news. I still don't know if that's what thuway was doing or if he had a separate source.
Here is something a dev told me after MS put out that horseshit UI video the other day.
"Kinect's voice array also does not work as efficiently as that. Hell, my X1 doesn't auto-sign me into my profile half the time. The time it takes between taking a command, and executing it has ranged between 3 to 7 seconds, if it registers the voice command. Depending on what other apps you have running, that is. I've done it with just my game running and it can take awhile. I had snapped IE with Studio Upload recording, and it crashed the console."
And another, on a different game said
"Performance in general was awful, snapping was super slow and voice commands recognition was meh. Tools are the worst part though. I mean, installing builds through a command prompt..."
I report what I'm told when I can verify that the people telling me are who they say they are. If it's wrong... it's wrong. Nothing I can do about it. But I'm not on some anti-microsoft crusade.
Snap looks totally cool in this video. I think that's a good thing. I'm not rooting for MS's OS to be a mess. I want to get a xbox one (if/when kinect is dropped). I got the OG xbox and 360 at midnight launches, for fuck's sake. I'm not hating for the sake of hating.

Can't wait for my teammates to be too busy watching youtube to help me win a game in Haler or whatever the fuck I'll be playing. IT'S NOT LIKE THEY EVEN PLAY NOW.
We know a certain amount of ram is dedicated to the OS, so why do people think using the OS overlay will cause lagging in the game when they have delegated RAM use? That is pretty confusing to me.
Yep, this tweet is from FamousMortimer (Today)
I especially edited the second video into the OP for that case
Man, I hope this isn't true, but I'd feel bad if everything turns out fine at launch. I like thuway and he'd get a lot of shit thrown his way if everything works fine.

I completely understand, I'm just saying that's still how it would end up in the public eye, even if it was true at the time.Things could well be fucked up right now, but ironed out by launch. Doesn't make what he said any less relevant; that could have been the situation at that time. I would hope that MS would be able to get the kinks out at launch; I don't expect to see a completely broken OS on day one.
Someone should remind him then:
Lol. Mort certainly co-signed it.Someone should remind him then:

If you're going to co-sign someone else's "facts" and they turn out to be wrong, then you're wrong.

But do anyone of us know how much exactly? What chunk of the XBO's memory footprint does Snap take up?
Someone should remind him then:
This is not a feature for me, but if other people like it then good for MS.
Seems kinda pointless to browse on the TV or skype on the TV while playing a game, when I could just do that through any number of other devices I have at my disposal while keeping the game full-screen.
Er...couldnt famousmortimer simply be right at the current point in time.
Today is November 2nd. November 22nd is the launch date. MS literally has 3 weeks. For computer programs, 3 weeks is a LONG amount of time...so at the time when there was problems, MS ironed out the bugs.
Flawless launch and at the same time, FM would be 100% correct that the OS was non-functional.
I think its safe to put the snap crash rumor to bed.
Goodnight sweet prince, we barely knew ye.

Yes, I came into that thread after the video of Snap was up and said, at that point, that I hadn't said a word about snap but I had heard things about snap. AT THIS POINT IN TIME THERE WAS A VIDEO OF SNAP WORKING! So knowing that the whole thing was a moot point I posted what i had heard about snap. Which... was moot. Because we are seeing snap working.
I have never been on #teambrokensnap. My entire article is about XBL related functions... which is what my tweet up above saying that I've heard from even more devs was about.
This past week is teaching me why gaming journalists hate their audience so much... it's extremely frustrating when people bend what you say to fit their own narrative. I will take part of the blame as well because just because something is clear in my head doesn't mean I'm presenting it in a clear manner.
Anyway... snap is fine, snap looks great in videos, I only mentioned snap rumors *after the fact* because I was asked... I wasn't mentioning them as proof of snap being broken. That would be pretty dumb to do in a thread with a video of it working.

No big deal, not the kind of game Xboners will appreciate anyway. It'll be great for all those unskippable scenes in Metal Gear.
Jup. This is what CBOAT said about thatAlso, wasn't it CBOAT who commented after thuway and he were stating such thing that actually it wouldn't take the "months" we were being told it would take to fix?
Translated by Amir0xtoday, snap is brkne. Ffac.t. M@aby e (an dpbrobly )() fix fo alaunch
SourceToday, Snap is broke. Fact. Maybe (and probably) fix for launch. Today connectivity and party is broken. Fact. And Maybe fix before launch.

Wait guys the bros who keep showing the UI are never online. So let's just wait for that.

You think he shouldn't get shit thrown at him when it turns out to be false? That's kind of the gamble you take when spreading rumorsMan, I hope this isn't true, but I'd feel bad if everything turns out fine at launch. I like thuway and he'd get a lot of shit thrown his way if everything works fine.
