Sorry if you guys are tired of my rants about them, I'm just trying to help whoever hasn't played them yet :(

No idea if they work with a controller. I always play FPSs with K&M, and TPSs too (Kane & Lynch 1 in local co-op and the new Tomb Raider were the exceptions). Want me to check? I have all of them installed.

Oh no, I liked it. ;)

Well, if you can really fast no problem but I don't want to give you that extra work. Also, what if you are telling me you are "just" going to check it and then you do another play-through? Are you feeling with such temptations again? Hum?

Pinball Arcade is far superior, no matter your skill level.
Download it and try it out - one table is free and the rest are all there in demo mode (limited scoring).

edit: I *learned* how to play pinball on this company's sims. I only really got into playing real pinball after I was hooked on FarSight's Gottlieb collection and Williams Hall of Fame.

Both have their strengths.

FX is faster paced and more action oriented with modes physically unable to do in regular games.

Arcade is more realistic and a lot of fun if you've played the original games.

Not sure what Arcade's leaderboard feature is like but FX is more oriented towards friends lists and what not.

Similarly, not sure if tournaments are set up for Arcade or not.

Not a fan of Arcade's nickel and dime approach as I'd love to play a lot of those tables. I wish they had smaller bundles.. the single table or season approach is horrible, IMO.

Oh no no, you should still play F.E.A.R. 2 (after the first one, of course). Face your fears, and play the game!

(pun not totally unintended)

It's just...
for once, I don't have the first one and I don't see me actively buying a horror game. :D
And then, I'd probably try to play them for some time, than become too scared to go further (or, even worse, turning down the difficulty if possible - something I don't like to do at all, even when it's clear that I'm "too old for this shit"), and basically not enjoying them at all.

So I'd prefer to give them to someone who'll actually dig the genre and really enjoy them! :)

Is F.E.A.R. 2 the one with the World's Most Amazing Shotgun?

I have them fellow GAFfer, but thank you so much. :)

I was just curious, before downloading all the way. I like to play games with KB&M in fact, some of them are just what I love the most when playing on PC, that clicking sound with the mouse and the soft press on the keyboard (okay this is getting weird) but in FPS's I'm bad at them lately when using the Mouse but I'm improving!

Oh hey, my Humblebundle mail came through... 5 hours later.

That took some time indeed. Oh well, at least you have them now! :)

Pinbal Arcade uses $=£ as well.

Shame, I've grown a love for Pinball lately, and having what is essentially a emulator for the tables would be awesome

OK, cool. these threads move too fast for me to keep up :)

I already have them, but I'll bite anyway (in regards to the question). The first game has a superb atmosphere, and some genuinely scary moments. It doesn't rely (much) on jump scares, it's psychological horror. The game may present you with weird noises and such to make you feel nervous and uncomfortable for the rest of the level, only to see that nothing happened after all. Then you get confident and... yeah, it's amazing.

Great description. I agree with all of this. Recently played through the original game and both expansions again. Well, I'm playing Persuade Mandate right now but honestly it seems pretty bland. I gave up on it the first time I played it, and now I remember why. I would have to say though that I think Extraction Point is on par or even better than vanilla. The only bad thing about it is that some things are copied straight from the original game, like cut-scenes, voice lines and even scares. But you won't really notice unless you play both of the games consecutively.

Still can't use them, tho.
I'm thinking of mailing the humble people to ask them to remove the javascript that autoexpands the steam key list. It doesn't work with the steam browser (keeps the list hidden), and since I've tried pretty much every other combination of browser and system to try and link my account to the humble thing and it hasn't worked...

I BTA mainly because I wanted something nice to give back to the thread, now I'm afraid I may have messed this up... I clicked on the "Steam" key in the gift link, thinking I would get a key, but the browser I did this in was not logged into Steam, so who knows.

To reduce the likelihood of special characters messing with ModBot, I entered only the last part of the link, the winner needs to add the code he gets to the following URL:
https://www.humblebundle.com/?key=

If it doesn't work, please PM me.

Anyone else has this problem with the Metro skin?

Should I redownload the skin or it is common?
The latest version is 3.3, do a google search for the site (I'd link but I'm on mobile), it fixes the downloads page. I know as I just updated mine earlier due to having the same issue.
Edit: so late, many beaten

I have that same issue, the recent steam client update seems to have done that. I'm using an outdated version of of metro (3.1?) I've been to lazy to see if updating the skin fixes the issue.

oh wow, I'm watching TB's WTF is COD Ghosts and the game and menus constantly stutter despite the fact that he is running the game with SLI Titans. The game also doesn't have a FOV slider.

I knew that the port would suck when I read about the system requirements. I didn't expect it to suck so much that a couple of Titans wouldn't be able to run the game smoothly.

There was a thread today that someone modded in a FOV adjuster and Activision sent them a legal notice to take it down or get sued. They really don't want the FOV changed for some reason.

I have no idea if I'm doing this right; went digging and found all the keys I hadn't used.

Be forewarned, while most of those keys should be fine, I might have given away one or two, but I think it's all good.

Such a great give away, thanks for Medal of Honor! (was an Origin code :))

Oh I see, it was all a trick! How can you do this to me, Monk? How can you?!?

Just tried them, and here's my verdict. Sadly F.E.A.R. 2 doesn't have controller support, so you'll have to use Xpadder. The third one does, at least for the 360 pad. And yeah, I suck at aiming with analog sticks.

I must admit, watching the intro of F.E.A.R. 2 while listening to Genesis was pretty awesome. And I usually dislike listening to music when playing a game, but I didn't feel like pausing We Can't Dance (which I think it's their second best album, with A Trick of the Tail being their first).

It's just...

I don't care if you don't have it. If you don't want to buy it, I'll do it for you come Winter Sale, don't worry about it. Just don't miss the goodness that are the first two games!

Remember the days when we could make our own maps and skins?

This might seem like a stupid question, but how do I change my STEAM password if I forgot it? Seems overly complicated since it asks for my current password before it will let me change it. And well, the reason I want to change it is because I can't remember it. If I disable STEAM Guard, will that make things easier for me?

oh IW, you used to do cool COD games for PC. What happened...

Yeah, such a shame what's happened.

Companies used to look at modding as helping to sell games, but now they see it as competition to their DLCs and season's passes and crap like that. Not all companies but enough of them.

In this case though I don't see why they would care? Unless the game is so un-optimized that any changes would just flat out break it or something.

Baller. Will totes grab this once it goes on sale. I just hope this isn't an ISO dump and they've actually tried to ensure compatibility on modern systems. (looking at YOUUUUUUUUU oddbox)

I wonder if they'll ever put the newest You Don't Know Jack game on Steam

EDIT: I didn't know it was already on Steam, lol

It is, but for some stupid reason the PC version is gimped, allowing only 2 players instead of 4 as on the console release.

Just upgraded the skin, it fixed the problem.

Although dunno how to feel right now for the lightning in grid view. Maybe I'm just too used to the one before.

So Modbot is closing threads now? MULTITASKING.

I would feel more comfortable if Modbot was was actually made a Mod, who is accountable for his moderation of the forums. It's all fun and games now but one day he might just go nuts on us and permban the whole lot of us. Modbot is the trojan horse of the Gaf forums, he's cool one minute giving out keys and the next he's closing threads and shit.

Beware gaffers of Modbot as Judgement Day is coming.

I finished the first DS game and gave Unlimited a try because I'd been told it was improved. It is improved, but I still found it incredibly boring and, eventually, incredibly repetitive. Even with all the additional adjectives, you still solve most puzzles with something along the lines of "Jetpack + Gun."

But to each their own, obviously. I'm sure there will be plenty of people who enjoy the game and then decided to buy Unmasked.

I'll admit that I kind of had to make my own fun a little. I have a self imposed rule of never using any of next twice throughout the game and it got me a little more creative.

I'm not sure what more they could offer other than what they do. Are you lamenting the fact that there are no mid-range bundles?

Oh and it is $5 for 2 tables, not one. The only exceptions have been for the licensed kickstarter tables (Terminator 2, Star Trek: TNG, and Twilight Zone).

I really should program something to manage my extra Humble Bundle keys better than a fucking .XML file that I manually edit from time to time.

I really hate non-assisted programming though. I wonder what local programming language I can use to access my MySQL server in amsterdam...

Edit: That or research a half-decent PHP+MySQL production environment, because editing .php files with NANO over a SSH connection is less than ideal.

On a more on-topic discussion, why would they give FEAR 2 and 3 but not the first?
