Mr. FluxWaveZ, the defendant Dylx has provided his testimony, please start the cross examination.

If the defense can't find counter arguments, I will declare this thread
"My PS3 died and I'm trying to live to tell the story" sequel.

Given the witness' most recent testimony and photographs regarding the supposed technical issue with his PS4 system...
phoenix-sheepish(b).gif

I have to concede that he's probably, totally telling the truth.

Wouldn't this incredibly important issue be solved by simply not doing that?

I don't know if any of my existing equipment does or does not do this, because why would I be doing that?

And to be honest it looks like a little rubber foot is missing.

I'm sure this amazing mystery is solved elsewhere, but the launch madness is becoming silly now.

The wobbling is not a defect in production it's how the console was designed.

One of the feet is integrated into the line that goes around the whole console for aesthetic purposes so when the PS4 is laid down flat and you push down on the glossy side, it will wobble but on it's own the PS4 should remain flat not move.

Unless you stand next to your console and constantly push it down on the glossy side you won't even know there is a wobble.

But anyways Wobblegate and resolutiongate have nothing to do with this thread so get the fuck out. We have more pressing issues at hand (WLOD).

I don't understand why you guys insist on buying these systems early. I can understand why the every-day, regular consumer would do it, but neogaf is supposedly a tech-savvy community. We've been through this before.

I've been without a console for 11 months now, so I was a bit "blinded" when I paid for my PS4. I just hope it doesn't turn out to be an Xbox 360 kind of scenario.

This is my first time getting a console in launch day :/

this has to be one of the bitchiest complaints I've ever seen. Controller issues are more acceptable to complain about, but this isn't. Come on GAF
Its a very silly oversight. Its importance is debatleable, but come on. You don't expect that in a 400 device.

Good luck OP.

As far as the wobble goes, people forget that Blu-ray was praised for being nearly scratch proof. So I see no problems there. I just think its hilarious to watch people freak out about it.

From everything I've seen, It lays flat.
The feet are shifted to one side were most of the mass of the system is.
This, however, means if you push down on the other side, it tilts.
Unless you're OCD and have a habit of applying unnecessary force to your electronics, you should be ok.

This is the impression I get as well. It won't bother me personally, as my unit will be out of reach of my son and pets.

1. Peoples controllers at home are getting fucked up
3. It doesnt matter what IW confirmed if the physical evidence says otherwise

So you are saying that the developers of the game, are wrong, and don't actually know the resolution of their game.

Or could it be that reviewers have a setting wrong...

because new, impatient young things like you come along to fill the void...:))

It's funny because this is the first console I'll actually be buying day 1. It's probably because this generation lasted so god damned long that I can't stand waiting any longer.

It's probably just missing a rubber foot. You would know if other systems wobbled though just by placing it down in your stand for the first time.

I'm glad I'm working on Friday so I can read everyone's impressions before I come home from work and am forced to make a decision whether to open it or not haha.

Bitchy? I pay £300+ on a device designed to sit on a shelf and my very minimum expectation is that it has at least been built to sit straight.

I mean I'm not going to cancel my preorder (even if this turns out not to be a one off which it probably is*) - but it's not "bitchy" to expect build quality to match the price dude.

*probably just missing a foot?

Edit: I see it has 3x feet, and only wobbles when provoked ;) my mistake.

My erasers, damp towels, thermal paste, screwdrivers, and indoor fans are ready. Bring it PS4, 360 trained me well.

Isn't the machine designed this way?

Apparently the guy on reddit who's console is busted is being refused support by Sony since "the system isn't launched yet".

Uh oh.

FALSE ALARM! DEAFCON 1 WE HAVE DISCOVERED SLIGHT WOBBLE WHILE MAKIN GIFS! thing works though, installed update and am playing Knack at the moment. Assuming I don't slam the top left side it does not wobble but still its kinda lame.

Does the left side sit a bit higher than the right? Looks that way in the wobble .gif

why buy a warranty on a day 1 problem? Just return the damn thing, dont need to waste the money on a warranty. I know the OP can't easily return it to the store due to the taco bell issue, but anyone else can.

What setting would that be? Console games dont have resolution settings. Its been confirmed in multiple videos from multiple sources that CoD SP is 720p

This.

Will I press down on my console regularly? No. I also won't be staring at the back of it where an "unsightly" rubber foot should've been added. So if I had the choice between a console that remains stable at all times regardless of how it is handled or a small rubber nub possibly being seen by someone *gasp* then I'll take the stability every time. It just looks so bush league as it is now.

How is it a problem though?

It doesn't wobble unless someone is actively wobbling it. Most stationary objects respond the same way.

I can't wobble any of the other three PS consoles with one finger...

I'll be angry if my PS4's wobble. Then, I will drink a brandy or two and contemplate how to resolve the issue in a rational, sensible manner.
unless I drink too much, then I might just throw them in the wood chipper
