I still need at least one good card based game on steam. It ticks me off, that steam has so bad definition of most genres I wanna poke Valve for this.

Might not meet everyone's definition of good, but Ascension is coming soon-ish - it's running a bit behind the schedule initially earmarked during its Kickstarter campaign, though.

aww, now I wish I had bought bundle with it.

I've really enjoyed my time playing Ironclad Tactics. If you haven't tried it it may be worth taking a look at.

That might be exactly opposite of what I want. It is a card game :)
For online play I'll be getting Talisman or Magic 2013 at some point, I think. Also, I think I've seen some card game without microtransactions and hundreds of dlc waiting to be greenlit.
I had in mind strategy card based games.

It does look interesting, thanks

Ascension is a great card game. I'd look out for that one.

Meanwhile Realms of Ancient War really isn't that good. At first I was getting into it as a sort of Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance type experience. But it just has a heap of really odd design decisions. Some of these include the respawn points with a lives system? no dodge, no camera control and worst of all quite a few situations where you get overwhelmed by enemies as an "event" but you can still die...and the game doesn't let you know this (you need to find a particular spot on the screen to go to...but of course you can't see it).

A shame, because otherwise it seems well put together. It still might be worth a look if you want to mash button presses rather than mouse clicks while collecting loot.

I can't be only human on earth finding story of To the Moon lacking. How you all get feels of it, when I got nothing. :(

Its because if you think of it, you might wonder if that was the right solution. Its bittersweet, because he will die with fake-memories. Something that never happened.
It kinda denies the existence of his autistic wife...

Before its release, the developers of Card Hunter had indicated that they would love to get it onto Steam. Not sure if it's still on their roadmap, though - seems to be flourishing well enough as a browser-based thing for now.

It's a lovingly well-made creation and well worth a look, though, if you're vaguely into either card or board games. Would do well on Steam, I reckon.

Edit: good intro piece on it here, for those who are unfamiliar with it (sorry, getting off-topic a little).

Deep.

I remember that the game took me 4 hours to finish and I was okay with that.

is 1 any good? i bought it off amazon today cos i didn't realize it was a steam daily deal...honestly i beat II and III on xbox, only bc my gf owned them, not bc i necessarily wanted to...1's the only one i haven't played, but i always hear it's the best...does it still stand up?

I played it years ago and it was decent. I somewhat disliked a lot of its aspects, but it was rather playable overall.

I'm guessing you missed this news. ;) The game looks fantastic, visually, but space sims have never been my cup of tea.

same here, the last game I played that was kind of in this genre was the old Colony Wars games.

But from what I gather, X:Rebirth is more approachable in that there are less nested menus and the entire thing is playable with a gamepad.

hmm, just beaten mars: war logs. I'm kinda surprised no one even talked a bit about this game, I certainly enjoyed it more than most recent wrpgs, even if it's a poor man's witcher 2.

Proof you either have me on ignore :(

Or that my posts should be highlighted so no one can miss them because they are all quality and filled with wisdom.

I selfishly hope X Rebirth is an amazing game that needs a couple of months of patches to be playable. Maybe then I'll be able to hold off buying it! (or it'll be on sale).

Egosoft has pretty impressive support of their games post-launch including modding support, so what you should hope for is an amazing game that gets even more amazing as they add features in patches :). They also are pretty good about putting it on sale.

I am ridiculously, unnaturally excited about this game. The weird thing is I put 100+ hours into X3 already this year, so I would think I would be done with this genre for a little while, but I am completely ready still.

I am a little disappointed that we can only fly one ship, but I do like the idea of treating the ship upgrading like you would in an RPG.

Legend of Grimrock is a modern homage to a very old genre: first person dungeon crawling.

If you are not sure what that is, what sets it apart from kings field mainly is that it employs party and turn based systems.

It's absolutely worth playing.

I've never played a game like this but always thought that it would be one that I would enjoy. That looks really fun to me. *adds another game to wishlist* Damn thee sirrah!

thanks :D

Long story short, my credit card sucks.

Oh, sorry :/. i has a code for it that I was going to include in a ModBot giveaway. However, if you haven't got hold of it in the meantime you would be welcome to it.

Hm, I thought I heard something. Nope, must be imagining things again.

One of the games Gravi is on Steam and another game is on greenlight
  • Gravi
  • Munch Face
  • Spark Rising

FYI, there's no automatic key system: Gravi keys are going to be e-mailed "in a few weeks". Spark Rising is the Greenlight game and you can check it out here.

Edit: And Wicket Loot is "evaluating launching Munch Face on several other platforms", which I'm guessing means either it'll show up on Greenlight soon enough or the company is hoping Spark Rising being greenlit will allow it to release MF on the store proper without the hassle.

I'm starting to really hate the new download system. Unless I'm missing something, there's no way to download more than one thing at a time and it won't remember my download order (eg: downloading path of exile update with FEAR in queue, go play a game, when I quit it starts downloading FEAR)

Also it still takes forever to stop an update but maybe thats just my system

Argh, having problems with FEAR.

My mouse is a Razer Abyssus, with a USB connector, HID compliant, and apparently FEAR doesn't like it.
A fix would be to disble all HID compliant peripherals, but obviously, if I do it, the mouse doesn't work.

Any workaround other than use a PS/2 mouse?

I don't buy many games at launch, and I've never played an X game before, but I bought this one. I am very excited for this. Anyone think this game might get steam workshop support? I have heard that the modding community was pretty active for the previous games.
