I don't think the Gus and Rory fights are comparable. Gus put major leather on Silver. Dude came to the presser wearing shades to hide the mollywhopping.

I was firmly sitting on the Hendricks train until I re-watched his fights against Condit and Koscheck.
His reach is shitty and he gasses in later round, two things GSP is pretty good in dealing with.
GSP has a chin made out of poutine sause but it's going to be hard for Hendricks to jump quick enough to crack it.

Anthony Pettis at this point looks like he's going to need major knee reconstructive surgery, so he'll be out of action for six months, and really, probably longer than that, putting the lightweight title on ice. I think maybe you've got at this point to go with Gilbert Melendez vs. Josh Thomson IV to determine the No. 1 contender.
make that an interim title because showtime is gonna be out indefinitely like the Dominator.

I think a year is a enough time to recoup. Isn't that about the time GSP had to recover from his Knee Surgery? Anything more than a year and the belt needs to be yanked so the division can be normal. Interim Champ stuff is lame.

I'd say yes.
At least in a title fight. So therefore in terms of significance as well as how egregious it was, nothing else comes close, not even Machida/Shogun 1 which takes 2nd place IMO.
