EA's Star Wars deal is 10 years long

Good night, sweet prince.

Han Solo: Well that's the real trick, isn't it? And it's going to cost you...10,000, all in advance.

Luke Skywalker: 10,000!? We could almost buy our own ship for that!

Han Solo: ...How 'bout 60 then the rest in microtransactions?

EA is not my cup of tea, but people who are arguing that we are somehow going to get WORSE Star Wars games than what we have been subjected to the past decade need pass what ever the fuck they are smoking.

Star Wars 1313 was probably going to look great and play like shit.

BTW, I am not sure why anyone here still clamours for starwars universe stuff.
The universe jumped the shark somewhere in the mid 90s.

I want a offline RPG from them. I know Bioware isn't trustworthy anymore but they might make something passable if they keep the turn-based elements in.

There goes my dream of a Platinum developed light saber action game akin to Metal Gear Rising. Kamiya wanted to do Star Fox; this would have been perfect.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
What a travesty given all the incredible current generation Star Wars game we got from all those other publishers.

It's ok. The quality of recent Star Wars games wasn't exactly impressive, so we might get better titles from now on. BioWare made excellent Star Wars games, DICE made good games and was the inspiration for Battlefront, so why not?

Yeah I think Dice's battlefront will be the best star wars related game in many many years, even if it turns out to just be Battlefield: Star Wars. Lucas Arts did absolutely worth any merit with this franchise in this gen.

As if Disney isn't going to milk Star Wars themselves?

Disney is competent, and have proved they know what they're doing with massive franchises, see Marvel. EA on the other hand are the biggest hack artists in the industry. If you want something half baked, over managed, continuously rehashed, micro-transaction to the gill; while EA is the perfect company for it.

Will EA respect the quality of the games, the legacy of the brand, and make 3 games in that time period?

Nope, we'll probably be seeing at least 10 games.

I must be in the minority, but I literally can't think of a publisher I'd trust with the Star Wars license more than EA. Battlefront is going to blow our socks off.

when it's about video games Disney is incompetent as fuck. Killing studios and near completed games and relesing horrible games and clones, and Marvel games and licensed mess is ...well a mess and they still didn't fixed it of give Marvel ip to good studios.

Now awful Disney put their games in the hand of yet another awful company that don't know how to handle their series (Killed Dead Space and Medal of Honor, turned Mass Effect and Dragon Age to crap..ect) this combination is just a disaster.

No longer boycotting the Wolfenstein franchise
I haven't purchased a Star Wars game since the Gamecube launch. At this point, I'm willing to give EA a chance at maybe, just maybe, creating something I'd want to buy.

I still want Mirror's Edge game on Coruscant where you can use Force powers. Make it happen.

Didn't EA say at E3 that they wanted Battlefront on the three year cycle along with Battlefield and Titanfall? I thought I remember them saying to expect a sequel to those titles once every 3 years.

Three years sounds like the right amount of development time. Better than the two-years DICE has on Battlefield right now.

EA is way better than Activision or SEGA, I'm happy with them getting the license long term. Look at Spider-Man, Iron Man, Aliens etc games if you want to see true licensed IP shit
