Kuroko no Basket 241

Match is progressing. I do like how the freshmen are getting a bit of screentime. I have my doubts that they'll be getting any serious character development, but at least they're getting a chance to play. Otherwise, not really much happening. I wonder if Fujimaki plans to cycle through the whole bench for this match.
Really looking forward to Junpei vs. Reo next week. Battle of the shooting guards!

For the truth to come out in this chapter and not the next is odd considering the 4th chapter is the last one, but with how short this one was maybe the next one will be lots of indepth extra lessons using various items for the summer.

Joukyuu's the greatest troll ever, truly he gives no fucks at all. So glad this series is getting translated again.

Well the arc is finally ending now that Goddesses are gathering.
The 3 remaining goddesses are getting stuck for a while...
Well at least it is in the present now

Sooooooo according to this interview, apparently Isayama wants to dump the original "traumatic" ending that he had planned from the start in Attack on Titan in light of all the new fans that were brought in from the anime series.

Now he's not really sure how it'll end. :|

(i saw this posted on less-than-reliable places so i apologize if any of this is incorrect)

An ending where the good guys lose and the final image is Eren and co being eaten by Titans would be okay with me

I don't really care whether its happy or sad so long as it ties into the story well. I don't really like the idea of constructing the ending solely to make it a downer ending, though. A lot of downer endings are completely nonsensical.

When one of your favorite doujin persons (she did a kaworu shinji yaoi one), does another manga series. Nice surprise and the supernatural story is not that bad at all. The crow surprise was certainly surprising but the idea of helping Midori to pass on but battling the idea of if he does he will be left alone makes this seem like it could potentially have a sad but good ending. Looking forward to it (though who has a curfew of that early and are a university student...).

I'm buying the Italian All Rounder Meguru, but I've been bugging my friend to get this one for me as well. One thing I don't get, Planet Manga reprinted Eden in omnibuses and stated it'd get missing covers as color inserts but my 2nd volume has a grayscale one. :(

Planet makes weird mistakes at times. Like the golden cover for Punpun volume 12, which was supposed to be black, or the missing pages from the normal edition of Green Blood, that were full color in the deluxe edition and for some reason weren't printed for the normal.
Though I didn't know about this one.

Oh I dunno, some of fighting can be pretty entertaining too, especially with mitsuhashi's "tactics".
Sure those were pretty funny at first but after a millionth time of him playing dirty in one way or another, it's hard to get excited anymore. I'd rather have more of the trio's parents tbh.

Isn't this part of the 101 school of things an author shouldn't do? I mean its one thing to write a happier ending because you think it fits the story better. It's another thing to change it just to avoid potentially pissing someone off. Seems like a good way to end up with a trainwreck ending :/

On an unrelated note, what exactly is One Punch Man? A Japanese take on the classic American super hero story?

A hero that unravels and deconstructs superhero tropes with his overpoweredness.

Just gifted my friend the first 3 volumes of FMA (Omnibus) as an x-mas gift to get him started on the series. While I'm not a big fan of omnibus for my personal collection they're great gifts lol

Is Crunchyroll manga worth it (selection wise)? I'm thinking of upgrading my sub to get it.

I honestly haven't used it once since upgrading, but I do want to support the service and hope it grows into what I was imagining it'd be. Probably better off waiting til the selection is bigger

BatDan

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.

It's certainly a better selection than Viz's Weekly Shonen Jump. Which only has 6 series that are actually weekly. The rest are monthly or irregular (One-Punch Man). No, I'm not counting Dragon Ball, it's sad enough they need to include that in the first place.

I'm convinced CR before Viz will figure out a way to enable users to pay to read entire series from start to finish on a monthly subscription in a way that doesn't punish later comers.

I can see that happen. Especially for the over 200 chapter series (Fairy Tail, Space Brothers, Ragetown).
Also, Viz needs to really focus on new Jump series. Last new one they added was World Trigger and that was from the beginning of the year (I know they had Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, but that was only 11 chapters, and only there because Akira Toriyama).

Hachi and Iron Knight would have been good additions, but that didn't happen.

Viz should be translating everything Jump releases and digital Jump should be everything Jump has and then maybe a few extras. Even if there are no plans for physical release a subscription to Viz should give you access to all current and backlog Jump properties they have the rights to.

Blood Lad volume 8

I hate when volumes end just as things are heating up.
The
resurrection of Blatz/Staz/Liz father was a success
and the
fight with Wolf Daddy
is about to start.
I don't remember if it was shown/said what's supposed to be in the big safe and I'm curious.

Goyle and Beros had many comedic parts, especially when Liz was involved, though even with Staz and Blatz involved it kept being funny.

Pokemon Black and White Vol.13

Pretty much character development all around. We got to see Bianca decide what she wants to do, White showing more confidence as a trainer and seeing how Black's dream started.

Our Secret Relationship 1-2

Let's get retarded together can sound so kinky.
If only real life worked like that and having the top score meant getting the hot girls.

That feeling when you find out that an author is going to make a porn doujinshi of one of his own works, until you realize that the work in question was already halfway (3/4 of the way?) there already.

That's not up to CR but Japanese publishers and I very much doubt theyll move in that direction. Why would they canibalize their volume sales?

So that's what the name of that thing is.

The Town Where You Finally Get Laid - Vol. 21
Oh??? OH!?!
So, Haruto finally has sex with the girl he has been dating and living with for a year... How did it take a year? We'll never know.

In the same volume, though, he starts an awkward situation with ex girlfriend #?. Oh, Haruto. Worst protagonist.

Edit: When does the rage reach its peak? I will probably stop reading this at the end of the month unless there's something super rageworthy past volume 24.

That seems like wishful thinking and an impossibility, considering the unavailable chapters of attack on titan and fairy tail and saying youd need to buy them and that their trying to sell the ebook volumes. Seven sins volumes chapters will most likely be removed once print volume comes...

For errors like Punpun and Green Blood they did, but I have no idea about Eden.
Though, a quick search about Eden yielded me this (about volume 8 tho):

So I don't think they did anything to fix any errors in Eden, given how, to someone that told them his volume 8 of the deluxe edition had 20 pages out of focus and that it pissed him off to have such errors in a deluxe edition at the price they ask, they answered with "hey, with how much stuff we print, errors happen, we can't check everything, plus the error isn't our fault, it's the typography's fault and hey, we do have Q.A."

Shaman King - Vol. 24-32+Kanzenban Extras;End
That ending was almost Katekyo Hitman Reborn! level bad. After all that build up, the way the finale plays out is such crap. This series seemed pretty strong for the first 1/3, but too many characters were introduced, and the focus was lost. I can't believe the mangaka had to add more, including a real ending, five years later. That's sad.

I'm not very pleased with the direction this series took. The oversouls became hulking monstrosities, characters were constantly brought back from the dead (a shōnen trope that I can't stand), and I just stopped caring. I'm glad to be done. Now, I can return to more enjoyable things, like Eyeshield 21.
