I'm still disappointed with the changes. I know it's Crystal D's descision (or Square Enix), but still, the vanilla 2013 Lara was great as it is.

At least they're starting to drop the pretense of "brutal survival dramatic origin tale" and treating the game as what it is: Shootbang with Laura "Super Killer" Craft. The trailer was pure carnage. Might as well bring it full circle and pretty her up again for the Hollywood sheen.

The addition of subsurface skin shader and much better looking eyes is pretty obvious even compared to maxed PC version. I wonder if environment will have similar improvements as well.

I don't care for the new face; the old one seems to have much more personality. I agree that the original CGI trailer facial design was more true to the character (same goes for the box art design), but the original face was so distinctive. The new one looks much more generic in these screenshots.

I'll pick this up if there are any interesting additions or changes made to the SP campaign. No interest in the multiplayer, and I won't double-dip for TressFX. I hope SE give me an excuse, because the game's a blast, and I'd gladly wait a couple of months and drop $30 on a PS4 version if there's enough new content.

Lara's distinctive face was one of the most striking facets of the original game's art design. I'm rather surprised anyone who had already played it needed to be told which was which.

I wouldn't pay $60 for it; but I understand why some would. 1080p is a major upgrade for console players, and a lot of us really enjoyed the game. Can't wait for a sequel.

The actress is definitely in for the long haul. They did it for parity. The way the PS blog post on the game is worded makes it sound like this is actually the model the sequel is using or the base for it.

Tried to match tone and gamma. New eyes look way better. Have reflections too.
Some scattering effect is going on in skin and shadow edges are softened.

Definitive means best, not most or biggest. The devs could turn Lara into a stick drawing and declare it the definitive version if they want.
