YAWN

Ask me which Shakespeare novel is best
The positives of this?
- It'll keep Toriyama busy. X series is already ruined with X-2, so no more harm can be done.
- It might even redeem the piece of shit which was X-2. Yuna seems better, at least, and I'm glad they're passing X-2 off as a "bad dream".

Agni holds a crystal, says something and summons a dragon.
I can't imagine it be anything but Agni's. I can't think of any other concept demo that showed "summons" and traversing the environment with them.

Verendus is supposed to be a verified insider so if he said he saw what he saw, this particular video, along with the other FF that is supposed to be coming this gen and the FFVII plans, are not open information and media that are open to the public. He's not talking about Agni.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?

Also what is this implying?
-In the end of the bonus audio, Yuna's famous words from FFX about defeating Sin are back, with the crowd cheering. You know what that means, right?
Connecting the dots, I'm starting to think that maybe Yuna isn't actually seeing someone else and she is breaking up with Tidus only because she wants to go sacrifice herself again to defeat Sin.

Dont name it X-3, it'll confuse people into thinking its another iteration oif XIII or something. Call it FF XX(FF20 not in Roman numerals), turn based rpg, let Mistwalker develop it, I'd buy it.

I'm torn with this after reading that summary. I loved X, enjoyed X-2 for what it is and found it pretty fun as well but I'm cautious about another sequel.

The whole
Sin being back thing
could be something entirely different. Maybe someone's faking it or it could be a ploy from Yevon followers. Who knows. It's been done before with Tidus in X-2.

As for the new characters... I agree they come out of nowhere. At least the one causing all the fuss should've been hinted at before instead of just going
"Hey! I'm your dead guardian's daughter!
.

This is assuming X-3 is indeed coming. I'll keep an open mind about it. I just hope fucking Lightning isn't in it.

If X-2 was a bad dream, X-3 will be a nightmare :p. So SE will announce at E3 X-3 for 2015 with no new XV news or release window. Guys you know it's going to happen right? :p

FFX is one of my favorite games primarily for it's story but the only way I'd want this is if we could get a cast that are mostly in their 30s. In that case, I'd really want it. That's the most intriguing to thing to me about the possibility.

They can't ruin the story any worse than FFX-2 did turning the world into Charlie's Angels,
bringing Tidus back to life
, and giving Rikku a lobotomy. In fact, I hate that our last look at FFX's world is FFX-2. It needs to be fixed. It's like how for the longest time Rocky V was the last Rocky movie. Better to risk another movie than for that to be the the last thing people see of it and besides the only place to go is up.

Considering the late game revelations of X, a sacrifice wouldn't serve any purpose. Especially considering that Sin is back, despite having been killed in a different manner for the first time.

I am 100% okay with having another turn based Sailor Moon game instead of Kingdom Hearts With Jpop Dudes for another few years. I'm sure it'll be great, but X-2 was great simply because of how not Final Fantasy it was.

As much as the Toriyama games are bad, we never went full idol show.

Nowhere to go but up even though up is like two flights of stairs above.

They can reuse all asset from HD Remaster and make PS Vita game funded partially by Sony (yeah). That will keep Toriyama and Watanabe busy. As for rumoured FF VII remake - my prediction is that game will be canceled before announced. I'll wait till end of 2015.

Exactly. Make one -good- game, with a solid number, not a spin-off, and succeeds on its own design. THEN we'll talk sequels or remakes.
No. No we won't! THAT is part of the problem. Let sleeping dogs lie and move on. Why can't people just "get over it"? These worlds were great, these characters are great, but it's time to cut the fuckin' cord! Snip snip! Move on to greener pastures.

I'm pretty sure if Verendus meant Agni's Philosophy, he would've stated that.

This piece of crap better not be the other FF game we're supposed to be getting this generation. That would be a huge disappointment. I refuse to believe.

What generation are you speaking of? Seventh or eighth? You have me intrigued by this 'middle' FF project, but what of VII? Another title was being considered, or was this the long demanded VII remake?

Another Final Fantasy game? So you mean there's Final Fantasy XV, the remake of Final Fantasy VII, and ANOTHER one?

EDIT: Sorry, I just read your other post. I get it now.

Sin is back reminds me of Tidus is back in X-2.
It's probably just a random whale that looks like Sin going by Toriyama's writing.

Tidus' new girlfriend is called Jennah Ovarium. Mid-game, it is revealed that she was once a summoner who tried to defeat Sin, and is the one controlling the new Sin. She had a twin brother who was her guardian, who gave up his life to become the Final Summoning. Before she could fight Sin, Yuna and co defeated Sin. Also it is revealed Jecht was their father. She broke up Yuna and Tidus in a convoluted revenge scheme. When she learns Tidus is her half-brother, she goes mad.

For the final battle, she merges with Sin. In the ending, broken and battered, she latches herself unto Shinra's space shuttle and takes it over, making it crash into an unknown planet. Calling herself Jenova, she ingratiates herself with the natives called Cetra, destroying them from within. Shinra's descendants use the wreckage of the shuttle and the technology contained within to create proto-Midgar. A couple hundred years later, a young mercenary called Cloud Strife stows aboard a train headed towards Reactor 7. Game ends. FF7 remake is announced at the next E3.

Am I close?

I don't see why people like characters like Auron or Balthier so much? Because they fit into people's gender expectations well?

Auron is "badass" I guess. But I don't see what's so impressive about that.
He's another hardboiled man in video games who doesn't say much. And his personality is a bit like Lightning.

So after XIII we get two XIII sequels, another MMO, a XIII spinoff rebranded as a main title, a X sequel, and a remake that is retroactively made into a X sequel.

It's like throwing trash into garbage bin into landfill.

Except the MMO is actually good. And Versus XIII/XV was never a XIII "spinoff."

I don't think it's that hard to understand. A middle-aged veteran of many battles with an outwardly gruff personality, he is a character archetype that is traditionally lacking in modern FF games with their J-pop sensibilities. He has more in common with the likes of Cyan, Cid (FFVII), and Galuf than with Lightning, Squall, and company.

Yuna and Tidus aren't together because now Lightning is in their world now, love triangle and shit.

This would be so messed up.

The fact this game now exists makes me fear for FF7. I don't even know why I should be afraid, but I'm afraid for it.

FF7 already got messed with, they can't possibly do more to it that hasn't already been done.
There are more horrifying things to be done. We just don't know yet how creative they can be. You're underestimating them. After Advent Children, I thought it couldn't get worse. Then Dirge of Cerberus came along. At that time, I felt it was truly the end. It's not like they can go into the past and ruin things there. Then Crisis Core came along.

What's stopping them from going back 1000 years and ruining things from back at that point? There is no escape, no mercy.

I don't think that type is lacking. I don't particularly like that archetype of character, and if I did, I could play games from the many (usually Western) video game developers who seem to be in love with that character archetype.

He has confirmed plenty of times that a remake of Final Fantasy VII is now in planning/design stages, brah.

Oh wow, a remake? I haven't followed him much, to be honest. My bad. I only caught onto his reveals when he outed the PS4 Tales of game before Namco even announced it was in production, so this was only a number of weeks ago.

I'm legit laughing

Eh. Some really sketchy quality stuff there, but if they can make it work, more power to them.

Besides they already ruined the emotional weight of FFX by
bringing back Tidus
so there's not much more damage to be done.

Joking aside, if a FF7 remake really is in the works, I'm calling this now: X-3 sets up the possible connection to FF7 via Shinra that Nojima previously talked about, and leads into the FF7 remake. The remake then acknowledges the Spira connection, and integrates the Compilation stuff, with a different ending that opens for a FF7-2, which is announced next. Bonus points if the goddess or Genesis are somehow related to Lightning or the Fabula Nova Crystallis universe.

Not.. quite sure why you chopped the sentence you quoted in half, but it's not a common archetype among Final Fantasy characters, who tend to be younger, more idealistic, and fit in one of a handful of common anime tropes.

You wondered why people liked him; I attempted to answer. Sorry you don't like him. :)
