Doesn't look like a good year for clearances. Target I went to was had LEGO shelves nearly bare without any clearances. As new 2014 stuff comes in, maybe we'll see stuff on clearance. Definitely can see some of the Chima Speedorz eventually being marked down.

Thread regarding Walmart clearance:

"For what it is worth: I was told by a manager that there will be no lego markdowns because the stores did not reach their quotas, probably because of the short holiday season and bad weather."

Clearance? My walmart is always a freaking wasteland for Lego after christmas for a good month. Not sure what they could even clearance out.

Should note that the Target I usually shop at is a City Target, I often find deals there that I don't spot in other stores. Its hard to know what is an isolated sale and what isn't when I go there. If you have one nearby I suggest checking in after holidays or isle resets.

That pretty much described my local Target that I stopped at after work. Nothing at all on clearence that I could find and the LEGO isle was about 20% the size it normally is with very little left on what little shelf space it did have. Was pretty depressing.

I don't mind the lack of clearance, I was often fighting the resellers for sales and they always clean the shelves of any clearance Lego...stinks but oh well. Plus there are way waaaaaaaaay too many Lego sets out there, a lot will go unsold.

B&N near me clearanced the Chima Speedorz. Only $7.50 a pack. Might snag a few for that price just for parts.
Also found out they have almost all the LEGO movie sets now, but cannot sell them until Sunday. So should be a good place to snag them with no hassle and a discount to boot.

I got the Vampyre Castle for Christmas. It was a fun build.

Went to two Targets and while they had alot on clearance it was nothing super great to write home about. Picked up the Kraang turtle set since its on sale plus getting harder to find.

Starting on December 27th until January 31st, purchases of LEGO Friends sets from S@H or LEGO stores will get you a new poly 31103 Stephanie's Bakery Stand. So far this promo seems to be limited to Europe, and is not in NorthAm.

On a different note:
I won a pair of Beats Solo HD headphones the other day and am thinking of selling them. I already have a nice pair of headphones, and really do not have need for this pair. Anyone interested in a potential LEGO for headphones trade?

I managed to get a Cinema Palace for 65 dollars out of pocket. Is this one good for a first modular?

At that price, does it matter? Crazy deal.

It is a very good set. Not the best modular, but still damn good. The worst modulars are still fantastic sets. Think of them and 10000 series sets as the Criterion collection for LEGO. Or buying them is like ordering a nice filet mingon for dinner, but some are just better cuts.

Haha, yeah, well, I only did it because I had some TRU gift cards and convinced the floor manager to apply the 25 dollars off a LEGO purchase of 100 to it.

Part of me is scared because I know when I build this I'm going to want to get the others.

A very valid concern. And it will happen. Once you start down the dark path of modulars, forever will they dominate your destiny.

Still at my folks but finally got to build the polys and get a small container to put pieces in when I head home.

Also picked up the turtle Kraang set n put it together... Michelangelo looks like he ate some bad mushrooms. The foot soldier is pretty awesome though and the set build is super simple but better than I expected.

They will hold their value over the years!

Weird question: why do mini figures have prints on the neck peg of the torso? Is it just to give the head more staying power/friction? I can't remember a rims they didn't have it

Didn't it turn out that that stupidly expensive set didn't in fact include the rigging pieces?

I'm still expecting a pirate ship in the second wave of Movie stuff. There doesn't seem to be room for a dedicated Space, Castle or Pirate line in 2014 so I think they will get movie sets instead.

I ordered the Golden Dragon Ninjago set off Amazon Warehouse for 21. I didn't realize it's MSRP was only like $30. I saw the picture and thought it was a bigger set. I suppose it'll make for some interesting pieces.

Are the Minecraft sets worth the purchase? and where did you get the Shell Ferrari Models? from a Shell Service Station or other means?

I haven't built any of the Minecraft sets yet :) But I like microbuilds in general and they do look like they'll make good display sets (if only I can find the room).

I got the Ferrari sets from a gas station here in the Netherlands. The crew polybag didn't get a release here so I bricklinked that from an Asian seller. I don't think they've been available yet outside of Asia/Europe.

Power Armor! Enjoy it. Such a great set. I know I and many others pimp it a lot on here, but for the price the set is a steal.

As for my collection from Brickset:
155 sets, 149 unique. 97,302 pieces from those 149 sets. (Probably a couple thousand more from PAB)
Prices for only 124 sets, for a total of $9041.

Yikes. I like seeing statistics, but some do frighten me.

Congrats. If I'd spotted it, it would be mine too. I was sleeping when they refreshed the deals though! Just got up >.>

Phon can I have a link to your Brickset page? I'd like to see what sets you have.

Does anyone know if I can return something bought at the Legoland Discovery Center shop connected to a Legoland to a Lego Store?

My mother-in-law bought me town square from here, but I want to return it and get town hall here.

As far as I know you can even return the stuff without receipt and get store credit. It's not like LEGO Stores sell much else besides LEGO.

And Woodfield, eh? My in laws live near there. Where they bought my Dol Guldur Battle. :)

Stoopid question, how do I make a link to my collection? It wont go unless I am logged in. How do I search for others collections or make an outside link to my own?

EDIT: Found it. Fiddling with settings now to make it public.

EDIT 2: Link to my sets on Brickset

Cool stuff. That Whirl and Wheel Super Truck is rather neat. I've never seen that before. I really need to spend some time this weekend and add my sets into there and see where I'm at. My collection currently resides in spreadsheet form.

Power Armor Lex is a fun set. It will be good to have that set to create destruction in your LEGO city. All those LEGO police need something to do.

Legoland and Legoland Discovery centers are not owned by LEGO Group. But, as PhoncipleBone stated, LEGO stores are pretty nice about returned sets without receipts for store credit.

I'm not sure on the relation of Legoland and Legoland Discovery centers.

Score. Grabbed Prince of Persia Quest Against Time for $22.50. Only want it for parts, but too good a price to ignore.

I've been eyeing that set ever since I got back into LEGO for the same reason. It has a lot of nice parts. I do <3 the princess minifig from that theme too. I wanted that saw blade thingy too, but that part is back with a vengence in the new Ninjago sets.

Just went to the City Target located in downtown San Francisco and they didn't have much on sale/clearance. 20% off on Chima and 15% markdown on a couple of small SW sets. Very disappointing.

Wow. You have a ton of sets from periods I have never explored.

We both have the siege tower. High five.

Hell yeah, one of the first sets of my childhood and I still have it and I still have the instructions. The two old pirate and imperial ships I still have the box flap from when they did those lift-able flaps that had alternate build pictures on it.

Target in my area messed up and put out movie sets the other day, which are now gone. But they also put out some of the books, including the guidebook.

The guidebook had pictures of all the characters and official sets throughout, but the end of the book is what got my attention.

I do not know if the pictures at the back are actual sets they will release eventually, but if they are: HOLY CRAP! GIVE IT TO ME NOW!

One set: a giant yellow mech made from construction equipment. It looks huge.

Second set: giant space ship, in the classic blue and grey color scheme with yellow windows. I almost let out an audible squeal in the store when I saw it. This set better become a reality.

Finally: there is a picture at the back of the book with all the set designers and on the table are all the sets for the movie. The mech and the big space ship are on the table as well. But there is also a HUGE pirate ship on there. And I mean HUGE.

I took some pics from the book, but I know things like that are sometimes frowned upon on here. I will upload them and post links if anyone wants them, but DAMN. These sets better become real.
