Almost done with TWGOK and thinking about watching Steins;Gate now. Then again, a while ago someone said wait for the Visual Novel game instead. Is this good advice, or should I just watch the anime first?

I watched all 25 episodes of SAO week after week, and then I watched the 100 minute Extra Edition yesterday. NO REGRETS!
AOTY 2012.

dresden says Kobayashi is terrible in the VN. This makes me sad.

Game is better , but the anime does a fine job with the story.

You can still play the game afterwards if you want to see the other routes.

There is nothing wrong with steins;gate anime...Game is better sure , but anime does a fantastic job .

The anime's excellent. Might as well watch it, and then play the game once it's out (I think it's still a few months away?).

Us version of the game sure is taking it's time to come out ..i preordered long time ago ( or something that feel like a long time ago ) and i wish it could be released faster .

As expected airi was lying all along , meanwhile fino is as cute as possible thanks to the "girlfriend plan". if that wasn't enough the Leon store is in peril... just when you think i couldn't have more expectations for the next episode , raul find out about airi lies !!

I guess i should watch next episode , right ?

This is lightspeed for JAST. They sat on Song of Saya for how many years?

Don't remind me.. problem is that they were working on the game ( steins gate ) for what seems to be a long time already . they were even fan translator drama regarding the game. i just foolishly thought that if they openned preorders we would be in a situation when release was close.

It trully sucks waiting like that.

I watched all of SAO. That's more than I can say for Attack on Titan.

I watched all of AoT. You didn't miss much. Unless you're secretly a fan of bad CGI forests and everybody asking Captain Levi what the plan was only for him to have no goddamn plan.

People diss The Walking Dead, but AoT is the worst Zombie show I've ever seen.

SAO was shit from about the very beginning.

SAO made it at least 14 episodes before it became pure, unwatchable drivel. By episode 14 AoT had felt the need to recap exactly why it had turned to shit in episode 8.

Kirito becoming a parent is when the show turned to pure drivel, so I don't think it even lasted that long.

Loooool

i have a serious idea on where the plot is going now.

That declaration of war , that relentless and unforgiving ennemy. Excellent.

This anime is getting better by each new episode.

( so glad i'm watching it in a row ...it would have annoyed me to wait 1 week to see the rest. )

This is a world of neverending war. A world where witches are shunned and pursued by humans, which is about to be overthrown. One day a man fell. Through the ceiling of a bathhouse -- in front of the "Witch of the Black Forest" Harrigan. "Wh-wh-what are you doing you bastard!?" "Breasts! And they're huge!" -- Suddenly a man from another world appeared in the Witch's land which was waiting to be destroyed -- "H-hey, s-stop, t-touching up my breasts like that!" "Big, big, big breasts!" -- the man dressed in a strange outfit has the name "Dragon King" and has lost his memories -- "A ma-man is touching Ane-sama's b-b-!?" "Calm down Yuuki!" -- so "war ability" and "magic" meets and the gears of destiny will start to turn! Here the curtain will be raised on the glamorous dance of unparalleled wars!

<<Hundred>> --- that is the only weapon that can oppose the mysterious life form <<Savage>> visiting the earth.
The protagonist, Kirasagi Hayato, aims to become a <<Martial Arts Master>> using this Hundred. He managed to get into the battleship university <<Little Garden>>.
However ---
"I wanted to see you, Hayato!!!"
"H-How do you know my name?"
Around the roommate, Emil Crossford, who somehow knows him well (?), Hayato gets an uneasy feeling.
What's more, just after the entrance ceremony, he gets asked for a duel by the campus' strongest martial arts master <<Queen>> Claire Harvey...!?
The ultimate academy battle begins here!

Tokyo Swordia, formerly known as Tokyo Metropolitan, has been ruled by the "Swordies" since the Third World War 70 years ago. These Swordies, natural-born swordswomen with an attraction to blades, more or less rule the country, and are considered upper-class members of society. In order to raise his own social status, Kurou, a human, begins attending an academy of swordsmanship, surrounding himself with Swordies on a daily basis. How will he fare in combat against those born to fight?

Wow Kodai, that was fucking stupid of you. They're probably not even going to bother sending reinforcements to help you guys now.

Wonder who the blonde girl was.

I did put it in my top 10 last year. Admittedly part of that was just to help boost it up the rankings to annoy the haters.
So are you going to vote the SAO movie as top movie? lol

Holy crap, I missed this glorious gem.
That was peak hatred. I'm not sure if this GGO thing can actually get worse though.

You really proud with it aren't you? lol
It was a dark, dark time.

War... war never changes. :(

It would have felt like total bullshit in a poorer show, but I feel like the writers put the relevant reasons in motion earlier in the episode (and more obliquely, a few episodes prior). Because it was foreshadowed, I wasn't annoyed by it.

Huh? What did I say? Did I screw up again? :(
My feelings on Sword Art Online

SAO is a good anime. The first half was really good. The second half was good but failed to live up to the first half. The show concluded in a satisfactory manner and I'm looking forward to the series continuation.

so it's 20 minutes of swimsuits and 20 minutes of ???

not sure if itsfuckingnothing.gif

No. It's more like... 10 minutes of swimsuits (if even that), 10 minutes of Kirito talking to a dude recapping the entire series (these are the scenes inbetween the recaps to make it feel like a narrative), and 20 minutes of a new ALO quest.

Still a big BS :(

I always imagining why this kind of moment big bad can't just SPOILER
yell to the goon "destroy the fool, I go home first!"

But of course, plot reasons :(

It was expected, but still bullshit in that
as Domel himself states, they were seconds away from delivering the finishing blow. It's one of the few moments in Yamato where it feels more contrived than set up.
It's not something I lingered on after the episode, but it does feel cheap as you watch it unfold, no matter how inevitable it is.

At least we get episode 18, which serves to provide a contrast between the two enemy commanders, along with an answer from Okita himself.

Wait, are these all getting adaptations?

Dunno, I just glanced through some of the LNs getting discussed on another forum.

wait wait ... you're writting a new show to present in some Novel competition in japan , right ?

RIGHT ?

Again an excellent episode.
Slime action was great , shaddy business money was spot-on .." it'll cost money for cancellation!" damn i ate when this happens IRL.

Good job Leon team.
Nice job Fino dad !

"How to " by a demon lord.

Great episode as usual.

Soul Eater 15-51 [END]

No, this wasn't all in one sitting, but I've been plowing through the series over the past four or five days. Obviously, I enjoyed it. Definitely worth the $24 I paid for it from Amazon. When I first heard about the series, it sounded pretty similar to Bleach, but I ended up enjoying Soul Eater a lot more than the former. Fun characters, humor in the right places. The ending was a bit
sudden and convenient, what with the big bad being taken down by...a punch
. I've heard the manga has a different ending, anyone wanna spoil me?

It isn't going to go down as one of the greatest anime of all time, but it doesn't have to be a masterpiece. It was very good, and that's enough.

One Piece Arc: The Movie. But it's okay, since that just means it's fucking awesome.

Also, Ian Sinclair was fucking flawless as Brook.

Well the anime only adapted up to chp 37, and the manga went on to about 113. I also think the ending wouldnt make much sense out of context due to how it was. It would be worthwhile to just check out the arcs not covered in the anime as its just not that many chapters and a few arcs such as the Book arc of sorts introducing a few characters is really good and one for Black Stars development.

I too bought the cheap BDs from Amazon. Did it for Chiaki Omigawa and rewatching purposes.

Also anime-original ending. That should explain it all. And what DTL said.

Akagi 1-21

This show somehow remains enjoyable, even though I still don't fully grasp the rules of Japanese Mahjong. However, this last arc (which stretches from 15 to 26 apparently) is a tough one to get through. There are scenes where the character will repeat himself 3 times. Literally something like "In this world, you can't expect the normal. You msut expect the abnormal. Thus the abnormal becomes normal. Akagi knows this. He's accepted that the abnormal must be the normal. He knows this and has used it to his advantage."

Still an interesting show. Still watchable. But they are -really- stretching the fuck out of this last arc.

I feel that a more elegant solution for ep15 would have been
to end the battle with the Yamato effectively defeated, with 2-3 ships tailing it after Domel retreats with the main fleet, and the ships sinking the Yamato so it crashes on the planet it's trying to get to, before warping out. It would put everything in the same place narratively, but with a lot more tension and without a cop out feeling.

What a mess.

Well I guess at least our main character is courageous enough to go right into the enemy's trap or whatever. I mean, not like this hasn't happen before.

I'm kinda disapointed by this episode... they are basicly stalling for time and they wasted an episode setting up what should have been my big puzzle time with fake and mirrors .
ratseal that's low ...so low ..too low

I guess love can make you do stupid things.
Anyway my hopes for next episode better be matched ...
I mean seriously ... with the solver team , there shouldn't be too much problems , right ?
I mean .... well ........ last time with melancholy that was a lack luster answer but they can't do that TWICE in the same season , right ?
Right ?

i'm trying to convince mayself that i won't be let down by next week episode , but i know i will be disapointed.

log horizon LN 1

i see, so the book reason why 2 x 5 x 1000 damage somehow = that monk's 14k hp is because akutsuki took out the healers so the monk wasn't capped off hp and nyanta's attack does hit the monk and isn't specifically targetting the vines.

And wooow the tv show got some 'pg 13' cuts lol. shiroe decapitating fools to make a statement. god damn.

Episodes 85-97
Wow. This arc took a huge left turn in just a few episodes. Like, everything that I thought would happen at the beginning didn't happen. It wasn't even close to that.

So the king (who bears a strange resemblance to Cell) is born early, causing the queen to be heavily injured. The royal guard abandons the queen and moves to the king, who is one-hundred-percent twisted and evil.

I was not expecting Colt to up and ask the humans for help. I mean, holy crap man, I know it’s a last resort, but do you honestly believe that the humans, the people you’ve been slaughtering, are going to help you cure the insect that they’ve been trying to kill?

For all he knew, they could have killed him right then and there. It’s so weird, everything’s different now. The squadron leaders and captains all left off to do whatever the hell they want, Colt is now raising a young child that was inside the queen, and now the goal of this arc is to kill the king and stop the other squadrons.

I thought this arc was going to end up as a “war for humanity” kind of thing. I thought for sure that it would be all prejudiced “bugs must die! Humans are food!” kind of thing to the very end. I was sure this show was headed for massive warfare, yet this magnificient show still managed to surprise me.

Well that surprise certainly doesn’t compare to Gon and Killua losing their fights to get back into the city. Seriously, I remembered when it seemed like he was getting really strong, but it looks like he and Killua still have a long way to go still. But speaking of Killua, hot damn was that scene where he rips that needle out of his head and then rips that annoying rabbit ant’s head off amazing. That episode’s going up there with episode 47 as one of my favourites.

So Kite is still alive, but is being controlled by Nen. But can he really be brought back? My money’s on him staying dead, since Hunter X Hunter is a pretty serious show that doesn’t really do those kinds of deus ex machine miracles.

Meanwhile, we’ve got two episodes dedicated to the Phantom Troupe and how they’re dealing with the current situation. The answer to that is that they deal with it like freaking bosses. I would call those episodes meaningless filler as nothing pretty much happened to advance the plot (aside from the death of another Chimera Ant bigshot), but I’m willing to overlook that seeing as we got a better look at Meteor City and that the Troupe was badass and awesome the entire way. Seriously, that sun attack from Feitan. Wow.

If there’s one thing I love, its villains fighting villains. I can‘t believe I’m almost caught up with this show.
