Actually, Hashino refers to the novel as "公式", which is (to my knowledge at least) the only equivalent Japanese has for the English expression "canon".

WHAT.

PersonaGAF discovery right here, if that's true.

I've never played a full EO game, just tried out the EO4 demo and didn't like it all that much. So I hope that they incorporate more Persona systems than EO systems into Q :p

I might go and download the demo right now. I know virtually nothing about it.

What didn't you like about it? Just curious.
I played the demo a long time ago but I'll try to remember. Combat seemed pretty basic, the first person dungeon crawling isn't my preferred way of exploration. I also really dislike the way the characters look. From what I remember the map drawing mechanic seemed really neat but also like it would take a lot more time than I was willing to invest.

Salvador? Or one of the smaller towns? There's still hope, Angra and Sepultura do a lot of shows on smaller towns :p

I live in a town close to Salvador, it takes about an hour to get there, it's called Camaçari, but I study in Salvador so I go there pretty much everyday. Actually, Angra came to Salvador last year but I was busy so I couldn't go. In my town it's worse cause the rock/metal scene is really small, I also only know of one person from here that likes Persona >:

I had the same impression, and apart from that I don't really like job-system in general. Well, in EO it wasn't exactly a job-system, but I found it pretty similar. That's the same reason why I didn't enjoy the Bravely Default demo that much.

I will just unread this and live in denial to keep my sanity.

Okay I exaggerated a little, but WHY? I don't know what's worse Trinity Soul or this novel.

The novel. Definitely. From what I hear of Trinity Soul, at worst it's boring and nonsensical with some decent ideas. That's genius compared to NaotoxDetective.

Trinity Soul.

I actually enjoyed the novel, or what's translated of it anyway.

Okay that's a bit harsh, I liked Trinity Soul too

But not only does the novel have a male Anti-Shadow Suppression Weapon, he transforms into a motorbike!

The novel

Trinity Soul is relatively inoffensive. Just aggressively mediocre from what i've read.

Detective X Naoto is straight up vile.

My expectation is that PQ is largely going to be a Persona-flavored EO game, the same as P4A is a Persona-flavored fighter. Those are the guys that are making it and that's the audience they serve.

Actually by putting the Persona name on it they're trying to, and probably going to, reach a different audience. That name carries its own expectations.

I think it's more trying to bridge a gap, also like P4A. They'll adapt the EO gameplay to be more appealing to Persona fans, but at it's core it's going to be EO because again, that's what they make.

So Detective X Naoto is horribly racist?

It's just really bad, not actually offensive--right?

Yeah, it's just bad. It has a pretty poor plot and plenty of fan service. From the half that's translated. The second half might be magnificent for all I know.

That's not to be confused with unenjoyable though.

All that means is "official," which it was. It was Atlus sanctioned.

Yeah, you're right, "koushiki" means "official", but is as far as I know it's also used as the Japanese version of "canon" for the lack of a better term. However I'm not a native, so I can definitely be wrong about that.

I'm not either, so I probably shouldn't speak so definitively.

It's possible the concept of canon just doesn't translate between the two cultures. They could just look at it as things are either acknowledged going forward or they aren't.

Vile in the way a Star Wars prequel is vile, or vile in the way the second Transformers movie is vile?
Can I know your opinions on the Star Wars Prequels? I have watched all the movies together a couple of years ago and enjoyed them, I never understood the hate the first trilogy get though.

I like it a lot too. She looks good with long hair.

Even if it does make no sense.

She does but I prefer her look in the P4G epilogue, and did anyone notice how she was wearing Kanji's necklace?
I didn't even notice it until I read it somewhere.

That's some typo on my part.

Anyway, why doesn't it make sense?

Persona X Detective takes place about six months after P4G epilogue, which takes place about six months after P4. Her hair is a lot longer in the epilogue, but then in PxD it is a lot longer. Right the way down to her waist.

You guys are right about that.

You will probably like the picture I was drawing a minute ago.

Also, Sogabe really did well on that piece. He's gotten so much better at drawing.

I didn't even notice it until I read it somewhere.

You are mistaken.

I like her design too, at least. Ahh to think I was so hyped for this novel...

I'm betting on extensions or hair growing products:

Well, Touko ends up being a fairly interesting character nonetheless. Also, her Persona looks nice... I'm still salty that there is no Soejima sketch available for Kushinada-hime, but the manga makes it look quite cool.

Her hair is blue. BLUE.

In P4D, when she goes into the Mayonaka Stage, her hair magically grows to match her new pop star image.

Yeah, that was Soejima. It's actually part of a poster that also features Sousei (toaster boy), Touko (Type-Moon expy) and Tsuge (the researcher).

You've potentially blown my mind. How do you know it's Soejima?

Her hair is blue. BLUE.

Pah.
