2014 NBA Jan |OT| Raymond Felton attempts to eat a Knicks Fan

"The World's Most Famous Arena" is a lot more known for what opponents do to the home teams there.

Hell, their last "Greatest Moments in Garden History" moment was the Starks dunk....a series where they lost anyways.

I guess you could count the NY Rangers Stanley Cup?

LBJ likes the garden ; )

That's not an unthinkable amount for the 60s. The pace was absolutely insane, the shooting was terrible, and guys played 48 minutes a game. Lots of opportunities for rebounds.

In 1962, the Celtics played at an estimated pace of 131 possessions per game. The Rockets last year were one of the fastest teams in recent memory and they only used 96 possessions per game. The Celtics also only shot 42% from the field that year and were close to the best defense of all time (and thus held their opponents to an incredibly poor percentage, leading to more rebounding opportunities).

I see. Must have been ugly to watch.

Biggest reason: No defensive 3.

Ehh, not really. Wilt averaged 19 rebounds per 36 minutes in 1962 (the year Russell got all those boards) and 19 rebounds per 36 minutes in 1967 (the year three seconds was implemented)

Russell's rebounds per 36 minutes in 1962 compared to 1967 are almost the same as well (18.8 vs. 18.6)

Ok. Another reason: Home score keeper stats padding.

The Heat looks so beatable these days. Teams are marking their games against the Heat on their calendars.

That and the Heat are mostly coasting still. It's very unlikely that they'll sink lower than the 2 seed and it's also pretty unlikely that they'll get the 1 seed, so why bother?

Atrocious defense yet again. Disappointed in this team right now.

I don't care if you lose, but don't give up 120+ points.
