KCF's marketing penetration in Japan is scarier than anything in Higurashi.

To be honest there really isnt anything in anime that compares with for example the Exorcist or the Shining. When it tries to be scary it often turns out humorous instead.

Fucking move over anything that's aired so far, this is AOTY (for now) because in this 50 minute "second episode" we got not one, not two, but FIVE brand new Chinatsu scenes, two including Chiyo! Chinatsu is the best girl who only got one scene last episode and it's been a crime for a year and a half which is now redeemed forever. If you don't think dominant tomboys are the best girls of anything you should just think about all the wrong you've more than likely done in your life. The wait was worth it, basically.
I want a horror anime set in an isolated rural village whose big reveal is that the townsfolk are harvested for KFC's eleven herbs and spices.

I don't know about you guys, but I really liked both the concept of the episode and the interactions between Dandy and the girl, plus a couple of the throwaway gags. The actual story was standard stuff, yes, but it didn't bother me in the least. I wasn't expecting a lot of laughter nor a sudden shift for the deadly tragic, so a bit of lighthearted drama with a lot of good feeling is enough.
Well, Code Geass R2 has a "soft" reset, which is better than most "hard" resets in my opinion (it was a bad idea, but with a pragmatic purpose nonetheless).
Higurashi does...something different. More interesting in some ways, more confusing in others. That's all I can say.

But still the cheapness of this show really unfortunate, too much goddamn still and quick cut that look really lame like this.
Man.. this match is deserve better, I miss when they actually bother to animate all that crazy dunk and layup in last match of S1 (Aomine vs Kise)
Really unfortunate because this match have as many as that match in hype moment, but the anime not giving as much budget and effort.
I know people already tired with this match, but this is easily the best episode from this match.. The directing is much better than previous eps and the intensity is there..

I was actually thinking of this show and how to tie it into discussion. But it really needs no introduction!

Wow, really enjoyed this episode, not in the same way as last weeks episode but still enjoyable. I felt like they had a good idea with the episode and I liked the change from strict comedy to a little warmhearted story, but I still felt like the episode was still missing something. The pacing was awkward that's for sure, but I still feel like they were missing something. The end disappointed too, I wasn't really expecting her to join the aloha but the whole thing with her Grandpa felt kind of forced and awkward.
I still hope they try these sorts of stories out again though. It was a nice change of pace and I really ended up liking it.

So this is where that shark spider coming through the door image is from! The premise is even better than I expected. I'm morbidly interested in watching this now.
Only in the best possible way.
This is essentially the storyline of a season 2 episode of The X-Files, incidentally (although it's called Chaco Chicken IIRC).

Holy shit I love these school-based episodes. I'm going to love Fumoffu. I feel kind of bad that I got more pumped for the AS jousting competition than any of the actual fights with consequences.

World Conquest - Episode 4
I don't even know where to start. I don't know what to say about this show. There's something really appealing about what it's doing, and I find it really interesting and entertaining, but it's also.... totally nonsense. This show is weirder and more random than Space Dandy while also having a continuity and attempts to try and tell some sort of story. Or at least it's pretending to. Or is it. I don't even know anymore. Based Okamura.

There's something really appealing about what it's doing, and I find it really interesting and entertaining, but it's also.... totally nonsense. I agree about the last part. We could use more episodes like this one every so often to break up the comedy, especially since last week's episode would be hard to top right away. The pacing was a bit odd, but it had to convey the passage of time somehow without being a two parter. That said, I personally didn't find the Grandpa stuff to be an issue though. I felt it was foreshadowed and not particularly difficult to swallow in retrospect. Convenient within reason, in the way a lot of typically happy endings are.

Is it something as simple as which series have had the most episodes being watched in a given recent time frame (perhaps also accounting for the total episode count per series), or something more complicated?

This show is awesome, the joke maybe not always hit the spot.. but the setting and theme keep it compelling even when the humour miss and make you entertained till the joke that actually make you laugh.
