Oh man i hope Gogeta-blue will enter the ring. I think at one point the kai will throw his earring towards Goku and Vegita but Jiren will intercept and destroy them. Then Goku needs to persuede Vegita into doing the merge-dance. UI Goku will rub off on the Vegeta part of Gogeta. The UI mode from goku seemed to work only on his defensive moves but not so much on his offensive moves. Maybe UI Gogeta will lend the devensive skils from goku and e the attacks from Vegita. man i am pumped for this anime... cuz it's running for so long i feel connected with the characters!

17 thinking that a bunch of falling rocks would harm Toppo was super dumb.

Aside from that, good episode. It's nice to see Vegeta accomplish something for once.

Also lol @Vegeto/Gogeta fanboys here. Bring on Freeku/Gozer! ;)

eh, all that hype for Toppo and he pretty much did nothing. Vegeta's big attack also felt super hollow and I didn't think for a second that he wouldn't survive it this time. I really get the feeling that this is going to be a pretty limp finish.

It's kind of funny how if each episode is a minute in the ToP, it's going from Beerus saying Vegeta is out of power to 'beyond blue' Vegeta again in a few seconds flat in the NEP, lol.

Decent episode. Looks like the thinking from last episode was right, that Jiren was disappointed in Toppo casting aside justice to get stronger. Seemed genuinely happy that Vegeta could surpass that without giving himself up.

Vegeta going badass was awesome. The writing is poor since it started imho. But I'm enjoying the fuck out of some of the episodes and it's worth watching.
I think they won't beat jiren. Rather will the tournament run out of time and Goku will be the only one surviving (plus frieza lying somewhere) so universe 7 will win the whole thing. I so think that 17 and Vegeta will be kicked out by jiren.

Hmm... its mentioned by Picollo that Vegita gave everything he got and yet the preview for the next episode shows
Vegita back to his Royal Blue self.

Only 4 minutes left so I wonder if we'll get Vegito or Gogeta because Jiren doesn't seem to be phased by any opposition at this point, not even Ultra instinct Goku.

Could be that 17 is giving Vegeta and Goku his Ki.

And where is frieza? He wasnt shown at the conclusion of the episode.

I think a lot of people are wrongly reading Jiren as a jerk.

His buddy Toppo, number two in the Pride Troopers, just said fuck you to everything they stood for, for a powerup, and didn't even take out one fighter for it. The pride troopers are all about justice, and the moment Toppo was getting beat, he gave justice up for a GoDs neutrality.

Jiren seemed genuinely happy Vegeta could surpass that while keeping his morals on. Presumably this also means Jiren got there the same way.

And look at his smile. LOOK AT IT!

I assume once they finish this series, they will catch up with the manga and then after some time, will release another saga, or arc.

I think that's the idea. IIRC they're going to be working on the new movie while the series is on (what appears to be) a temporary hiatus and then return later in the year or early next year.

Tbh not a single cast member saying their goodbyes mentioned anything about a hiatus, only fans did. I'd like to be optimistic about it but while I know DB as a series isn't going anywhere, we just don't know yet what will happen, maybe the studio doesn't either.

And while I think something, regardless of what it will be called, will come back...The cast is also getting old, man.

I hope they don't leave us in the dark too long and we at least get a "Dragon Ball will return in Dragon Ball: United" at the end or whatever, I like the idea that U11 wins and we come back to them waking up in a universe with all wiped planets with life wished into it.

So jiren went from boring character to boring character with cliche tragic past.

All of my meh. 17 really hit some good moments though, clearly the mvp of U7

Yeah...Wouldent it have been awesome if they made Jiren a survivor of one of the universes that Zeno has destroyed? His motiviation could be that he wants to use the dragon balls to bring back his universe or even to get revenge on Zeno. Instead they give him a backstory so cliche that he was made even more boring than he already was...

The ending is feeling way too predictable right now, especially with the next episode title. Where's the twist? All the cool theories and the ending seems like it's going to be the most straightforward thing possible.

Jiren is just boring. They should have created a few episodes with Jiren in the past being awesome and that would have hyped him up to be this monster of a character but he is just dull to me. I really hope when they come back with dragon ball they will have improved the storytelling so the characters don't peak so fast. What's the point in having gods of destruction when normalish characters can have power similar to them.

I agreed. His past is so extremely cliche.

Looks like there's a much stronger bad guy in Jiren's U11 (or maybe Jiren dealt with him after he became stronger), which is silly given how powerful Jiren himself is. Its probably a hint of where a future series would lead.

Timewise, the sheer amount of improvement in minutes and stamina recoveries measured in seconds is jarring. Vegeta is on his what... 4th wind now?
Either way, with the number of episodes left it sounds like this whole thing will end with Ultra Instinct Goku anyway or on the Freeza is still around somewhere technicality.

17 is the mvp for sure and I hope he gets his boat eventually. I wonder what this bodes for Vegeta in the next episode.

i dont like how in this show they manage to make so many fighters relevant to goku's level. maybe not on their initial interaction but at some point.

People used to complain about how the only relevant people were saiyans. I'm glad they added variety and hey, goku and vegeta are still the best.

Jirens backstory was dull as $#% but it makes you wonder if the villain is still around. I guess the U11 god of destruction must be the villain or something like that. guess this arc will end with goku UI defeating Jiren and at the last moment Freeza will kick goku off so he can make his "become a god" wish

And yet despite the nonsensical power-ups most characters still don't mean a damn thing anyway. Hell, this whole tourney has just been stuck in neutral ever since UI became a thing. Jiren really needed to be a far more engaging villain to make this whole thing work.

With as much as I would like the arc to end like that, it seems so far that Frieza isn't doing anything and has been reduced to a short comedy gag each episode now, what with him suddenly showing up, getting beaten, and getting thrown somewhere for next episode. Last episodes was hilarious with him just being thrown face-down into the ground, but that makes it seem like they are either going to give him stamina out of nowhere or not use that ending at all.

Please think of the others and don't ruin any surprsies.

My mistake, I just joined recently, I apologise and will make sure not to mess up in future
thanks for the info and it's kinda weird all these changes but it is an easy way to show changes in power. I kinda think they need to go back to the drawing board and aim for less changes in body and more changes in how the power impacts the world similar to like how I keep reading about domains in Chinese web novels. We've already kind of had it when that short green guy could stop time back in dbz.

In all honesty, with all that they are doing now in the series, I am much more confident that this is going nowhere and that the next arc is going to be something completely out of left field and, because of this, I can only hope that has a soft landing instead of a sudden crash.

The show is pretty much taking a long hiatus after the TOP.
