Driveclub was the best arcade racing game ever, and never got what it truly deserved, neither had its developers who miraculously saved a disaster game, turning it into a masterpieceso is anyone upset that we dont have any flashy arcade type racing games during these last few years , no ridge racer , NFS is shit , and code masters r just milking rally , wreckfest gives me hope cuz it reminds me of destruction derby but other than that there is nothing , wats neogafs take.

... has anyone given it a reasonable attempt (marketing, promotion, etc.)? If you count Mario Kart and similar games, there is a lot and they do sell, but other than that we haven't seen a real AAA arcade racer in the last 10 years, except maybe Need for Speed. Maybe Driveclub too, but I don't think that's the wacky type of arcade racers the people in here want. There's a reason why no one wants to build a AAA arcade racer. They don't sell. Why don't they sell? Because no one gives a shit.
Such ironic and hyperbolic statements from you. Take a nap.
You know nothing about me. I worked in the games industry for nearly a decade before escaping it. Again, the irony of your posts is astonishing. Guess "class" didn't teach you self-awareness. Your first post in this topic was an insignificant turd you shat out. Knew you wouldn't come back unless someone quoted you and look, it worked.Such projection from you. You know nothing about gamedev, running a business, or understanding why certain genres are DOA, irrespective of quality. Take a class.
All you need is wreckfest wym
Wait till you play online and have buses driving backwards as obstacles.Okay, so Wreckfest came to gamepass so I got to try it out. Guys, this is a legit arcade racer. Just enough customization to keep the cars interesting without having to enroll in college-level iracing.com classes just to understand the a car's specs. Game is drop in and play ready and the computer AI is tough, but fair. Graphics are quality. Not suped up like FH4, but definitely pretty.
Easily an 8/10 racer maybe better. It's a LOT of fun.
We need more Hydro Thunder and Split-Second games. Hell, even a remaster of those games would suffice. Forza Horizon is really good but it's not the same thing. People say it's arcade compared to semi simulators like GT and Forza Motorsport, but it's very far from true arcade racers. Mario Kart is really the only high profile arcade racer nowadays since even F-Zero is nowhere to be seen.
Anyone else remember Moto Racer? This game was so badass. Had a mix of motocross and regular street bike races. I'd love to play a new one of these or eve Moto Cross Madness.
I picked up Onrush from the recent Playstation sale since it was less than $3(if you have Plus). I remember trying a demo or beta test for it and sort of liking it, but the presentation really put me off the game. Normally, I wouldn't let that keep me from playing a game, but I think I was too busy with other things or games a the time it launched.
Anyway, I played the game much more than I did with the demo and it's the kind of mindless, fun racing game I enjoy, but still has some Motorstorm-type elements to the stages.
If anyone hasn't played it, sale is still going until 3/3 - $6.19 / Less than $3 with PS+

Game is cheaper than some fast food items if you have PS+
I've only played the game for a couple hours so far, and all of that time was spent doing the offline circuits/career.Moto Racer 2 is the shit. You can get all 3 on GOG, probably Steam too.
I picked up OnRush during the black friday sale for $3 as well then, I didn't even have a playstation to play it on. Kind of forgot about it, got a PS5 and haven't played it. Is it worth it if you don't have PS+?
If Namco can make Ace Combat work, they could maybe get lucky with Ridge Racer. It would have to be really compelling for a niche audience of 1-2 million.
i want a Split second 2
This comment sucks. For good reason. This genre sucks.
What not even Blur?I finished Split/Second, nothing else will compare
I wish I could go back to the time when I just got home from town with Super Skidmarks:
I have sales data to back mine up. Your opinion doesn't pay bills. This comment sucks.
Is it better than the Amiga version?
I have sales data to back mine up. Your opinion doesn't pay bills.
It was a PSN exclusive but it's off the service for a while now. I hope it can be still played via. emulation.
I've only played the game for a couple hours so far, and all of that time was spent doing the offline circuits/career.
I hate to undervalue games because I know the amount of work and polish that can be put into them, but for the amount of entertaining crashes and moments I've already experienced, if I had paid $20 or $30 for this game, I wouldn't have regretted it.
This is a community board for discussion, specifically about how AAA arcade racers are dead. Nobody designated this a "fan thread". You can bubblewrap your head and choke to death in an echo chamber elsewhere. And this is a thread lamenting the absence of arcade racers. Nobody gives a toss about your opinion.
So where's this sales data you mentioned? This is a community board for discussion, specifically about how AAA arcade racers are dead. Nobody designated this a "fan thread". You can bubblewrap your head and choke to death in an echo chamber elsewhere.
Switch to Xbox, they have the best arcade racing series of last 10 years.so is anyone upset that we dont have any flashy arcade type racing games during these last few years , no ridge racer , NFS is shit , and code masters r just milking rally , wreckfest gives me hope cuz it reminds me of destruction derby but other than that there is nothing , wats neogafs take.

I've never played the MD version actually. That was a brain failure, I meant to post the A500 version:
For people who don't who never played:
I would have 100% bought that (the beta was VERY GOOD), but then i've heard you kinda needed to be always online and... well... honestly f**k that. All you crying mofos in here needs to play onRush, I thought it was shit when it was announced then it hit the GamePass and I spent days in that game. So good.
I think GRIP is worth mentioning too
Some others that aren't exactly racing games, more like adventure games revolving around cars are:
Mad Max
My summer car

Same goes with Kart racers. Unless it is Mario Kart or CTR, you aren't getting any.
Outside of the fact that we're in a topic named ... "AAA arcade racers r dead"?So where's this sales data you mentioned?
So your only proof is a shitty licensed game bombing and a game that abandoned its actual audience. The people who buy Project Cars are expecting a sim game. Why would they buy an arcade racer? Also that game happened to be bad as well. Also it comes from some site no one has heard about.Outside of the fact that we're in a topic named ... "AAA arcade racers r dead"?
Seriously? That's fine. I'm happy to continue cutting holes in this cesspool. Here's a simple link that should accomplish just that:

Arcade Racing Games of 2020 Hits Record Low Sales Figures
Turns out 2020 has not been the year for arcade racers. Plenty of experienced racing game developers haven't delivered any success this year and the sales figures tells enough how bad it's been. Despite the developers trying, it doesn't seem to satisfy the fans.www.keengamer.com
I had an absolute blast with Grip: Combat Racing. What a gem!
Try it before you judge it.Lol, come on. The game is trying to bridge the gap between the two game styles but it does not make the game an arcade racer. The way the cars controls, the damage, the boost working, etc are very different in arcade racing games. FH doesn't have that.
I always wonder what you people who type "r" and "u", instead of "are" and "you", do with all your extra free time.
