7. Sound Shapes - so soothing
8. Reunion - not very well known Amiga space strategy game (similar to Supremacy), but one of the 1st games I finished without cheat codes
9. Until Dawn: Rush of Blood - the first VR game I tried on PSVR1, got scared shitless

Maybe not exactly what the OP is looking for but what shaped me as a gamer. I went with titles I played the most in my lifetime.

1. Detroit - Become Human | Traumatised me in a philosophical way
2. Ys I.II | My first CD game and probably the best OST ever made
3. Final Fantasy VI | First complete video game experience
4. Uncharted II | Best cinematic experience in a video game
5. Singstar | So many parties with this game and most spent in DLC
6. Gran Turrismo 7 | I'm blind one eye after a big accident and the game helped me confidence to drive again (I still don't though)
7. Tetris Effect | The first truly emotional game in VR
8. Astro Bot | Pure nostalgia complete with Astro's Playroom, a true gift to PlayStation Players
9. Jumping Flash | First satisfying 3D platformer video game
10, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood | The pig slaughterhouse stage man, the pig stage

Out of the top 10 but still influential:
Final Fantasy XVI | Best story in a video game
Super Metroid | Short but amazing experience
Final Fantasy VII remakes | Again nostalgia, this seems insane in the mind of teenager me
Super Mario 3D World | Best of what Mario has to offer
The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past | Peak golden era of gaming
Ninja Spirit | One of the best side scrollers ever made
Conquest Of The Crystal Palace | Best platformer of its era
Cosmic Fantasy 2 | First "adulting" game
Rygar | First game that needed a battery back up cause it's insane to finish in one sitting, I still did
Roller Coaster Tycoon | Best game out of a Golden Graham cereal box

I can't wait to boot this up when I get my dual-screen device later this month. I've heard nothing but praise. Top of the list baby! 🕺
My dude I saw that thing you are getting and looks fucking amazing lol, had to control myself to not buy one too haha.

SMT IV is an amazing game for sure. Imo, the best the franchise has to offer in terms of setting, characters, story and music. But be ready for some easy gameplay later on, the game isn't very well balanced.

Still fun to go through ofc. It was my "first real SMT" and I fell in love with the series instantly.

1. Xenogears
2. Starcraft
3. Final Fantasy VI
4. SimCity 2000
5. Persona 5 Royal
6. Metal Gear Solid V

4. Xenoblade
5. HoMM3
6. A Link to the Past
7. Strange Journey
8. Super Mario World
9. SMT IV
10. Slay the Spire

I'll go with franchises instead because if I go with singular games then I might not have enough room to give a broader portrait of my tastes.

In no particular order:

- Legend of Zelda
- Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest (JRPG's like Chrono Trigger as well)
- "Souls" (demon/dark souls, Elden Ring, Bloodborne, Sekiro)
- Monkey Island
- Doom
- Resident Evil
- Splinter Cell
- 3D Mario
- Hollow Knight/Silksong
- Metroid

As in like Top 10? or just 10 games that give a sense of who I am as a gamer? I'll go with the later (though many of these will be in my top 10 anyways)

  • Persona 4 Golden
  • Catherine
  • House in Fata Morgana
  • Halo Reach
  • Metal Gear Solid 3
  • S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl
  • GTA IV
  • Gravity Rush 2
  • Silent Hill 2
  • Fatal Frame 2

The first two are interchangeable depending on mood (and both were given got tier remakes that almost matched them, lucky me). 3 is cemented. Everything else doesn't have a particular order.

1/2. Silent hill 2 OG
1/2. RE4 OG
3. Bloodborne
Expedition 33
Alien Isolation
MGS2
Mass Effect 2 or 4

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
Final Fantasy 6
Deus Ex: Human Revolution

I want to squeeze Dishonored 2, Signalis, Dead Space remake, RE2make, Hitman WoA, XCOM 2, and RDR2 in there. They could all be potentially interchangeable with 4 and on, it's difficult.

The whole NDS/3DS library is a dark hole in my gaming experience. I'll be eating good for quite a while. 😁 Had budgeted for a ≈$1000 PC/Steam handheld. But none of the offerings that's been revealed this year ticked all my boxes. So decided to give myself some early Xmas gifts instead. 😋

I'm so excited to sink my teeth into it, press turns, demon fusing and eccentric storytelling in all its glory. The setting looks amazing! Thanks for the heads up, I'll be going in mostly blind and without a guide, so I'm sure it'll be a fun ride even if it gets a bit easy down the line.

1. Yakuza

5. Yakuza 5
6. Yakuza 6

Knowing how much you enjoy dungeon crawlers I bet you'll enjoy that device for sure! Etrian games are a must, and if that thing is capable of emulating the Saturn there's Shining The Holy Ark as well which, while simple, I found it to be very charming and enjoyable.

Oh nice! The less you know about the game the better. It has some very cool twists that got spoiled even in promotional material lol, so if you are able to avoid all that, great!
