Let the 10 year old be 10, he has his whole adult life to deal with shitty reality.

You know, it makes me wonder where Daddy Dearest was when this was going on? I'm a father of four, if someone acted like that toward one of my kids I'd have come down upon them with a vengeance in defense of them, but this dude apparently didn't even comfort his own 10 year old?
