you have an avvy from SF, so that really surprises me you don't know who this is...
So you're saying an EX game today would play like a proper Street Fighter game and not like an EX game... What's your point?CartridgeBlower said:This game, first impression, does not look hot to me.
It DOES look like an updated EX game. It may play like classic Street Fighter, but you can't say this isn't exactly what an EX game would look like if it used today's hardware. Just based on this clip (and I know it's extremely early) I don't see this game getting any of those 'old' SFII players back in the arcades. Based on the visuals at least. It's decent, but nothing spectacular.
This did not blow me away like SFIII did when it was first shown. How smooth and colorful it was. This looks like EX. And it pains me to say that. Maybe it will be the best playing SF ever, though, and I'll eat my words. Here's hoping.
this isn't coming to arcades... in the us at least. Also, I don't get your updated EX game comment...CartridgeBlower said:This game, first impression, does not look hot to me.

I thought they had no plans to bring it to US arcades and that everything was going to be patched if there were balance issues. Correct me if i'm wrong.Yoboman said:Says who?

CartridgeBlower said:I specifically said it LOOKS like an EX game. If EX 4 came out, this is how it would look. The bulky characters, the 3D camera, everything. Yes, this plays on a 2D plane and it plays like classic SF, so it's NOT EX 4. But IMO, it's closer visually to an EX4 than a SFIII.
And who said it's not coming to arcades?
GrayFoxPL said:LOL, SF2 looked nothing like anime. Then the Alpha shit came. I like anime, but keep it out of my SF.
i don't understand you EX point, even after your stealth editCartridgeBlower said:Or it could just be that people have differing opinions.

the only similarity I see is that its 3d and uses the same characters, the art style is completely different, you stated that the bulkyness of the characters and all that jazz would be the same when in fact its not. The characters are far bulkier in IV than in EX and the gameplay is different.CartridgeBlower said:Or it could just be that people have differing opinions.
So, even after looking at those pictures, and then comparing them to SFIV, people see no connection at all? Are you freakin kidding me? Maybe it's just the look of any SF 3D game, but enlighten me as to how those pics are so different than what SFIV is becoming?
Zoramon089 said:Yeah, it did. You just think all anime has one distinct style which is incredible ignorant...check out old 80's and early 90's anime, they looked just like SF2

Im not saying you have to, but you asked how would EX not look like this? Easy, the artstyle would be different, as well as the gameplay. The characters would also carry a much more slender look to them. The comparison is almost akin to stating the different art style between SF2 and SF3. Just because its 3d doesn't mean they would be the same.CartridgeBlower said:My edit was just to add more content, not to change the meaning of what I said. C'mon, people. Let's play nice. I know it's SF, but not everyone has to agree on it at this stage. Or ever.

RyanDG said:Even in the earliest Street fighter 2 design informtion (http://www.insertcredit.com/features/makingsf2/), there is still a distinct anime feel. I don't know why you think that it "looked nothing like anime", because based on the trends in Japanese animation around the time it was released, it was all fairly standard for the medium.
GrayFoxPL said:Funny that. I like 80's anime.
Show me some of it that looked similar to sf2 art style.
Im also 100% sure that the animation quality of SF3 when it was 10% complete was how it looks today. SfAlpha was on a 2d plane just like SF2 and even had the blue trailing effect for specials like SSF2 so i guess i understand your definition of where the similarities arise from.CartridgeBlower said:The animation is not as smooth as SFIII, the characthers are blockier (bulkier, same thing?), and the camera is moving. To me, all those things remind me of the EX series. It may not for you, but that's a difference of opinion. The art style in SFIV so far is very far removed from SFIII, which had silky smooth animation, japanese slant, and a more adult take on the universe. Saying it looks like an EX 4 also doesn't mean it's going to play like an EX 4. Two completely different things.
