2014 Microsoft E3 Conference

Horrible showing. Most are games that will look better on other consoles. CGI everywhere. Nothing we didn't already know. Pretty lame.

1080p the buzz word of the show.

Fucking horrible conference. I fear for Sony/Nintendo.

Call of Duty - More of the same, this shit looks horrible.
Forza - Nurburgring made me excited as a little girl
Assassins Creed - Fuck this series
Dragon Age - Hell yes
Sunset Overdrive - Yet another shit game made by Insomniac that will sell approx 2 copies
Dead Rising - I liked it
Disney Fantasia - ...
Fable - Gameplay looks solid. Art does not, as usual when it comes to this series
Ori - FUCK YES THIS LOOKS SO GOOD
Halo Collection - VERY nice for both old and new fans of Halo
Inside - FUCK YES THIS LOOKS SO GOOD LIMBO WAS FUCKING AMAZING
Witcher 3 - Looks good
Phantom Dust - Ugh
The Division - Downgrade?
Scalebound - No one would give a shit if this wasn't Kamiya. It'll sell 4 copies. Need more gameplay footage
Crackdown - I'm glad Crackdown fans got what they wanted!

Overall: 2/10. Horrible. Good pacing though.

lol at this critic...just lol

Sunset Overdrive looks pretty great. But the rest of 2014 looks like it's pretty empty. Phantom Dust, Scaleborn, and mother fucking CRACKDOWN are exciting. Sad we probably won't get those for a year or more.

Very solid conference. The strict focus on games was admirable. The Crackdown announcement hurts me since I don't own an Xbox One and have no plans to get one.

As an Xbox guy, I give it 8/10. Lots of great games, but no megaton to put it over the top. Can't complain, though. I'm a very happy XB1 owner.

Personally, I think MS knocked it out of the park. I'm interested in the majority of what was shown.

Now on to Gamescom, Pax, and TGS! Crossing my fingers for that last one, especially. I need at least a couple weeaboo titles on my Xbox to maintain balance. :)

Ori
Inside
Sunset Overdrive

My favorites of what was shown.
Not a fan of modern FPS games or TPS for that matter.

But I do want Tomb Raider... whenever it eventually releases.
(it will slip to 2016)

Phil Spencer gave us something way way way better than last year. He only had a few months.

As of now, rest of 2014 looks great.

Not seeing anything from Black Tusk or of QB sucked though. Even a GOW trailer would have been great IMO.

The CoD demo sucked, very uninteresting demo. But the game looked good.

Sunset Overdrive
Halo MC collection

will tide me over this Holiday.

Disagree. Purely speaking about games revealed, their E3 2013 conference was way better

A for effort, but the content seemed samey and a little lacking in spark, despite the quality of work on show.

I can see it pleasing existing Xbox fans, but I don't see it pulling too many new converts onboard.

Pretty good show,

Although Halo isn't my favorite franchise that Collection sounds awesome.

Also got a few laughs when Conker appeared, what a fucking tease xD

I thought a lot of the indies looked incredible. Inside, that planet game, the one in the gif. Some really fantastic stuff on show.

I am sincerely surprised at how underwhelmed I was by this conference. Sunset Overdrive continues to be the most interesting thing I've seen and that's been known for a long time. Lots of multiplats, a Fable game I have zero interest in, a Halo collection that is mildly interesting but certainly not something I'd buy a console for, cg trailers for Phantom Dust and Scalebound (Neither of which are known enough that I can judge them as interesting or exciting based on that), and a cg trailer for Crackdown which I'm sure will be fun but is coming out at an unknown date.

Did they show 90 minutes of games? Definitely. I commend them for that. But I'm sad that Sunset Overdrive is still the only thing getting my blood moving. I was really hoping a new IP was going to get me really excited, but cg trailers for games with unknown dates aren't doing it. I feel like MS is in the right headspace, and I'm happy about that, but they didn't excite me.

That $400 I've got in Amazon credit is going to sit right where it is for now.

That leaked really hurt MS imo. They would of had a couple of nice surprises if it werent for that leak, but also at the same time nothing really big. Loved the way they showed the games though, no bs talking about numbers and blah blah, it basically was game trailers and demos for 90 mins.

A solid 6.5/10

Great conference. 8/10.

I'm surprised quite a few people didn't seem too impressed. Maybe the leaks and pre announcements made the meant to be surprises less impactful for them. It was better than most conferences in previous years anyway.

My grade is a 2.5 out of five. Lots of games but too many leaks as well as well as CG. The only game that really grabbed both me and my GF was Ori. Them feels...

Yeah was because we knew most of the stuff but still stuff like Phantom Dust, Scalebound and Crackdown were the highlights.

CGI probably means 2016.

Seems like if you're a XBox fan you'd be content with that conference. Can't say I cared about too much of it though. Ori and Inside are the games I'd like to play.

7/10

Mm, not a bad summary. Surprised they didn't hold Sunset Overdrive back for e3 instead of showing all those CGI trailers. Really wasn't impressed with the amount of cgi. Give me gameplay.

Do people in here not know that Microsofts console is underselling and only providing under performing multiplatform games to their main cheaper competitor?

For this conference to be even above a 5/10 it needs to have something to stick to Sony ... something that says 'we are worth it' something that says we are the winners ... and a Crackdown isn't that.

But then again it is nice Microsoft has focused on the games ... too bad their complete ineptitude towards nurturing game developers has royally fucked them.

If I remember right, they did not say the word 'Kinect' a single time. They hinted at it, and they showed games that obviously used it, but I don't think the word was actually spoken at all. Very interesting.

Overall, I liked the conference. It was very solid and perhaps Microsoft's most well-paced presentation to date, especially taking into account the focus on games over multimedia coverage. Microsoft did seem to play it fairly safe with mostly a display o third party representation (sadly, barely any of those games interested me), but it was good that it took some time to cover indie support as well. As far as exclusives go, I was fairly disappointed, especially in terms of games coming out this year. Sunset Over Drive looks like a lot of fun , but that's about it as far as exclusives go this year. Beyond that, Scalebound seems like it could every good given Platinum's expertise in action genre, but without gameplay footage, it' was fairly hard to be that impressed. I wasn't interested in Fable Legends or whatever Phantom Dust is. I've never been a fan of traditional racing games and while I'm not interested in Halo, I give credit to Microsoft for offering multiple things for the fans to look forward.

It was much better conference for Microsoft than last year's, and it won't necessarily be an easy win for Sony this time around, but it will really boil down to what exclusives it will bring to the table. Anyway, I agree the conference is about a 7/10.

Solid 8/10.

Positives: Phil Spencer, Game after freaking Game, Halo Collection, Diverse Content
Neutral: Few new announcements
Negatives: A lot of the titles look like late Xbox 360 titles (those Call of Duty explosions were terrible)

I think they did a decent job. However, there wasn't much in terms of big surprises. They did a fantastic job displaying games rather than filling time with PR speak. Let's not pretend the conference was a bombshell though.

Nothing that was shown makes me want to run out and buy an Xbox One now.

The most impressive games to me honestly was Assassins Creed and Call of Duty, I'm shocked I'm even saying this, but both looked great...

No Halo 5 or Gears of War was pretty disappointing.

Not going to lie, the Master Chief Collection has me pretty tempted...

Probably won't get an Xbox just for that, but it's a pretty sweet item for Halo fans. "All on one disc" sounds like it's $60 for all four games, not a bad price for a 4 game HD collection.

Solid showing, but nothing for me.
A lot of 3rd party stuff I'm going to play on Ps4 and the new annoucements were all CGI.
I can't get hyped for CGI trailers...

Forza Horizon 2 trailer disappointed. I wanted to see gameplay or at least a good amount of the environments, but it was mostly close up car porn.

Sunset Overdrive looks extremely fun.

Fable Legends looks boring.

Halo stuff is cool.

Phantom Dust, Scalebound and Crackdown.... meh. Can't say anything since CGI...

if your really into the established MS IPs like halo, fable, forza and crackdown it was a good show. they had a few new things but it was confusing as to what was a real exclusive and what was timed.

Not a bad show - definitely better than I thought it would be. I dont own a Xbox One yet, and even though there was so much new, I liked the overall feeling: that it was all about games.

Pretty solid overall. ~7/10. I think it would have had a much better effect if it all wasn't leaked by ntkrnl though. I think they have a good set of games up until the end of 2015. Also, I hope the buildings blowing up in Crackdown was a hint at destructibility. Would be a ton of fun ground-stomping out a chopper and through the roof of a gang building. Can't wait to see Sony's response!

Only game that makes me want a Xbox One is the Halo Box. And thx MS for paying so much money, so i can play my MP games on other Platforms for a longer time till i need to buy DLC. Get DLC first is not really something that makes me want a console xD

It was aight CG trailer/10

Need to see gameplay of Scalebound but so far MS ain't succeeding in making me want an xbone.

Well at least this put the nail in the coffin of that goofy ntkrnl is a controlled leak horseshit. Motherfucker leaked their entire conference.
