Sorry but a lyrics award is just utterly dumb.

Also why does MTV even exist in this day and age it's all dumb reality stuff right? I mean they don't do videoclips anymore like back in the 90's because yes i know the internet. Fuck man i miss MTV UK so damn good.

Run the World is more fun than the boring Bohemian Rhapsody, though.

Let's see which one of those songs is a bigger hit in clubs.

Let's see which one will be remembered 40 years later and which will be forgotten in 6 months time.

Run The World came out three years ago though, and it's still played in circulation at clubs.

The point is why do we need to compare old and new music? Pop music is fluid, and the evolution through time is natural. Besides, I'm sure we'll all be in here scolding future teens about why they need to respect Lady Gaga and Beyonce instead of the crap they're listening to.

Anyway, I'll be watching for Beyonce, like most people. She's about to tear that shit DOWN. Greatest pop performer since Michael.

Nicki Minaj said it will most likely be controversial.

Composing the music would also count as a writing credit, 6 people didn't write those lyrics.

go find a cloud to yell at

Bunch of old people want to rant about the state of today's pop music. Pretty sure back in your younger year the same people that were the age you are now were complaining the same.

Where is PopGAF to rescue this thread?

They aren't for the actual lyrics of the sogn, but for videos that are more focused on the lyrics of the song. Example: 5 Seconds of Summer - Don't Stop

uh I just saw a spot on MTV... is Jessie J really gonna open the show or have I heard it wrong?

Aren't you supposed to open that kind of ceremony with an exciting performance? I know Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj are gonna share the stage with her, but Bang Bang is not a good song. Like, not good at all.

Was it last year that Gaga just wore a thong and bra after performing?

Minaj should just do that to grab the headlines.

To be fair, no one talks about Gaga anymore either.... at least not in a positive light.

Beyonce is doing a medley of songs from self-titled. Should be fun, but I'm uber-tired so I'll go to bed then watch it tomorrow.

Praying she drops the Flawless remix on iTunes tonight, maybe she'll perform her verse from that instead of from the Chimamanda version.

If Charli and Bey don't win all their categories I'm going to be so fucking pressed.

Also the Lord is coming to shit on all your faves with her performance of future worldwide smash #1 Shake It Off from future worldwide smash #1 album 1989, gonna be soooo good.
