This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.
Does the target audience for the this even remember when MTV played music videos?
Probably not, but luckily for MTV, YouTube has managed to keep music videos fairly relevant.

Some cares, but we certainly don't care if they appear on this festival of dog shit. Surprised they didn't throw in a token Jack White appearance or something, but maybe the rock acts are finally too embarrassed to even appear on that stage.
This is Pop-gaf you're talking to, remember that...

its a lost cause

No, I'm right.

It's not that the rock acts are too embarrassed to perform onstage at 'this festival of dog shit'. They would kill for that promo opportunity. The only reason they aren't given it is cause they're fucking irrelevant. Bye.

last year it just showed the pre-show and then it just stopped once the show started

please get with the times, MTV

Gah, everywhere is so difficult compared to the UK where you can watch everything online with ease

Does the show begin in 45mins or an hour and 45?

An hour and 45, so 2am in the UK and 3am in France (it's awfully late, don't know why I even bother to watch it tonight)

LOL @ the VMA's and the "artists" and "music" that will be celebrated tonight. What a complete load of shit it all is.

No, promo-ing to young girls (the main demo of MTV) does nothing for most rock groups. Not to say any of this music is just for young girls, or that young girls don't listen to Rock. But MTV is going to play with what meshes well with who they are after right now. That's 12-24 year old people, skewing towards women. Plenty of rock bands sell fine, but MTV doesn't help them any at this point.
