Why is an American winning the shot put basically a footnote on NBC?

How many times we gotta say NBC is garbage? First father - daughter winning shot put and first american ever winning gold in shot put. Nothing was said about Harrison with her second gold medal in Judo as well. First American to win medals in back to back games and only the 2nd gold ever for the US in Judo (Harrison won in 2012 as well).

Though I do have to say that I don't know if ESPN, FOX, CBS, etc would have made a big deal out of it. I would hope so, but it's not a main thing on their website. Ledecky is, maybe deservedly so, but I expected a bigger piece dedicated to Carter.

At least they had that on TV but I can't believe they didn't show it again in primetime

I'm kinda excited because I have nothing on the line. Already got to see USA lose on penalties earlier

Shootouts with nothing on the line is the best experience ever.

Shootouts in which you're actively rooting for one of the sides is the worst experience ever.

Nice save by Barbara, good game Brazil. At least this tournament stays interesting since your fans will make these matches fun

How many channels air Olympic events? NBC and what else? USA wins too many medals to cover everything :p

In Canada we don't win many medals yet we have one public network and 2 sports networks with 10 channels that share the coverage
