Man, Jordan Burroughs is devastated. The two losses he had today equals the total amount of losses he had previously in his international career since 2011. He got dominated in the second bout, and was outwrestled in the first. Maybe he's not as explosive as he used to be, I felt he slowed down since he partially tore his MCL at 2014 worlds.
Still though, you have to feel for the guy, he sounds as devastated as Yoshida was after she lost to Maroulis. Burroughs' day today though, was far worse than Yoshida's, even if he doesn't have all the international medals and accolades that she does. I hope he can pull through this and come back, I enjoy watching him wrestle, but if this is it for him, then I am glad I was able to watch him wrestle.

To be honest. Ledecky and any other big leads is swimming just look run of the mill compared to the leads that are gained on 5000m and 10000m races. And this have been going on for decades. By 2024 more women will be swimming like Ledecky did this year, but how come we still get 50% of the 5000m runners being lapped on the final?

BBC are thinking it may be the order the athletes were lined up at the changeover, which is set based on the order they expect people to arrive at the changeover point based on the position of the previous runner at the 200m line. But there's still a lot that's not clear - not least that if two people are transposed, then surely both are breaching the regulation.

Anyone knows why some vaulters don't do all the jumps? The one from Greece only started at 4.60
British TV just siad it might have been the last hand over that was penalised, but the last leg runners were in the right positions, based on positions round the bend, with no jostling.
If you're confident, you volunteer to skip a jump to save your energy.
If you know you are good and would have cleared that easily why not save some energy and skip it?
