Well, he's not on track for the WR, but he should go over 8950, it's still really high.
It's Mayer that's doing his lifetime competition... His best was 8521, he could be in the high 8800s.

USA has won 6 straight golds in womens bball so they should be okay. Our basketball teams are like China's pingpong teams. nearly unbeatable

The only sprints tonight are Women's 400 hurdles final and Men's 200 final, which are both 90 mins to 2 hours away.
Women's 800 semis start in about 20 mins.

Who cares?He was the best athete when it mattered and luck had nothing to do with it.I bet anyone who is in the top 25 and didn't get a gold medal at the olympics would trade places with him without a second thought

China's table tennis team is incredibly dominant. I don't think there's one sport where a country is as dominant as China is in table tennis.

i'm not saying he did not deserve his golds or anything, as he clearly did. but it was still fortunate to have been able to participate in two olympic finals where his sub 22 metre throws were sufficient. now that he has some proper competition it's unlikely he will even medal.
to be fair, olympic finals in shot put tend to be rather low quality affairs.
Aren't all-time best include several athletes from 60s-70s when steroids were a thing?

Yes now that is he 35 he may not get a medal.
Only one guy(Crouzer) shot better than what he did in London.Again luck,fortune had nothing to do with the gold medals.Each event is unique and it makes no difference that he didn't throw longer than 22m.
