actually i think this is the most new fire types since gen 1

I'm admittedly finding this all a bit hard to follow, but what other ones do we have? (i can't remember many japanese names)
- Fire Monkey (of the Monkey trio) + possible evo
- Flaming eyebrow gorilla + any other members of family
- The white legendary dragon
- Victini

who else?

EDIT: Plus the starter line, obviously.

Lots of 3 stage Pokemon so far. Yeah, there are 156 new guys so far, but...

It also makes it so even if they're bad this gen they can't get evos in Gen 6 to make them better!

This thread has given me a massive boner. Just listening to the new soundtrack. FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ROUTE 26 LOVE BABY WOOOO

All in all they've gone waaaaay overboard on the number of Psychics and Grasses. Darks and Fires are going to have a field day this gen.

Grass, maybe; but Psychics? There really aren't that many... And the ones that /do/ exist are almost all ugly (Koromori) or bizarre (Munna/Musharna). ;__; Only my beloved Rankurusu can spare this generation! Gochiruzeru has grown on me.

I count almost twenty so far. And about 5 ghosts. So yeah.

To be fair, though, Gochiruzeru and Rankurusu are both three-stage Pokémon, and Munna and Koromori are two-stage. I think the number of evolutions makes them seem deceptively numerous, whereas, in actuality, there are only a handful of independent species. I think half of Gen 5 is made up of Grass-types, though.

pokexperto 569: Garbage Bag Pokémon. The garbage has grown a lot and thus half the body is grey dirt. Very amorphous. Pure Poison Type.

pokexperto 568: Garbage Bag Pokémon. A green garbage bag with eyes. Its arms are formed of grey dirt coming out from the bag. Pure Poison Type.

This is a dream come true.

Meet the diabeetus Pokemon.
So judging from Pokexperto, this evolves from the ball of ice cream, and in turn evolves into a two-ball snowcone? Awesome. :)

Our spot-on leakers have also confirmed there are two polar bear Pokemon, both pure Ice-types. :)

And those wondering about Fire-types, we have the pig starter and his two evolutions (Fire, Fire/Fighting and, presumably, Fire/Fighting); the fire chimp (pure Fire); the fire chimp's evolution (pure Fire); the fire gorilla (pure Fire); the fire gorilla's pre-evolution (pure Fire); the fire gorilla's alternate form (blue-colored, sitting, Fire/Psychic); a Fire/Ghost-type; two Fire/Bug-type scarabs that appear to be the last Pokemon in the Pokedex before the legendaries; the White version legendary, Reshiram (Fire/Dragon); and the Mew equivalent, Victini (Fire/Psychic).

And then there's 30 some Pokemon we know nothing about, which may very well include some Fire-types. So Black/White will add at least 13 new Fire-type Pokemon, including the fire gorilla's alternate form. Only two of these are legendary. :)

When's the earliest someone will get the ROM and hack the sprites for us all to see? The game comes out in Japan on Saturday, Sept. 18, right? So inevitably someone will get it sooner...

EDIT: I wonder if the two Poison-type garbage bag Pokemon, the swan and his pre-evo, and the three-stage ice cream Pokemon will be found around the game's amusement park. Seems like appropriate Pokemon to take up residence there. :)

From Pokexperto again:

588: New Bug Pokémon. Pure Bug Type.
589: Knight Bug Pokémon. A knight with an armor, spears and helmet. Main body is based on previous bug. Bug / Steel Type.

and a fanart by Hiro:

Cool! Is that fanart of #588 or #589?

This goes along with another leak by Melkor or Hiro about they're being a Bug/Steel-type and a Grass/Steel-type. It'll be interesting to see the latter. :)

EDIT: Whoops, my bad -- no spears, so must be #588. :)

Bug/Steel is the new Normal/Flying

(j/k, I love that type combo. There's like six of them now? Scizor, Forretress, Wormadam, Knight+prevo, new Deoxys)
Hey Emonga, did you pick your screen name based on the new Electric/Flying-type squirrel Pokemon, also named Emonga?

And yeah, I love Bug/Steel too, especially Forretress. I think you named all of them so far. :) Also sounds like we'll be getting some new Bug/Rock, ala Shuckle, in the form of the two hermit crabs.

What's the earliest someone may hack the ROM and put up all the sprites online? The games come out in Japan this Saturday, don't they? So they might leak earlier in China/Korea?

Is he like, learning stuff as he goes along?

Like how I remember him saying the Gith girl MAY have A pre-evolve but it's the final stage as-is and he didn't know about the cell one. . . only to later reveal that it in fact both have 2 pre-evolves.

And isn't the polar bears supposed to be Ice/ Fighting?

Interesting that no one even looked at Route 216. Or even Route 228 Night. Or even Mt. Coronet (a favorite of mine).

On the subject of validity, everything will be revealed in 5 days...so I'm not going to try and speculate on the validity of anything I hear this week unless actual pictures accompany them. I find the official art much better, anyway.

So it seems (rumored) that Emonga doesn't evolve. Guess it's our Pachirisu of this generation.

And the mushroom evo sounds... interesting.

For those wondering about sprites, I've been reading some claims that Pokexperto will reveal all the sprites on the 15th, but I don't know how true that is.

O.o

I had imagined we'd have around 630, but I guess GF can't have a main game with less than 150 Pokémon...
We have for the past three gens.

Though since Pokedex isn't gonna feature any old Pokemon (which is confirmed, btw) then yeah doing anything less than 150 is kind of unacceptable.

I think 649 is a great number, though, just so 6th gen can start at 650.

How is that less an NDA violation than if he showed them now? The purpose of the fan art (which has been spot-on when Coro Coro rolled around, so these are not rumors, folks, these are legit) is to circumvent NDA violations...

All I remember him saying is the Goth girl doesn't have an evolution... And she doesn't. She, like the green cell Pokemon, only have pre-evolutions, two each.

By the way, a bit of speculation on the version exclusives: So far we know Black has Reshiram, Goth girl and her pre-evos, and Grass-type cloud and his evo as exclusives. We know White has Zekrom, the cell Pokemon and his pre-evos, and the Grass-type skirt Pokemon and its evo as exclusives... I'm going to hazard a guess that the leafy caterpillar/leaf cocoon/leaf look-alike will be Black exclusives, and the centipede/cocoon/centipede will be White exclusive, based on their pokedex positions and the fact Black exclusives seem to be listed first. :)

That's exactly what I meant.

Pokexperto is updating again.

592: Jellyfish Pokémon. Round blue head with 5 tentacles. Water / Ghost Type. Has another Forme, pink color and different tentacles.

Interesting. I do love all of the different formes that we're getting.

This series is getting too complicated and intimidating. Can't they make a version for noobs that doesn't require reading internet guides to figure out how to play well?

Uh, the games are designed so that even 10 year olds can beat it with just their super strong Charizard that has Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Cut, and Fly. You only need to use guides and stuff if you want to play on the competitive level.
