It felt like I played less Monster Hunter, but this is on par with what I did the first year 3U came out. Pokemon Omega Ruby got some time for breeding and Pokemon Y got some time for hunting shiney pokemon to play through Ruby with. There are many nights I spent playing Smash where I just wanted to play one more online battle and I stopped on my stairs for 30 minutes between steps. I am probably half way through Bravely Default, maybe. I beat Apollo Justice and Miracle Mask this year as I am making my way towards the cross over game. I am currently on Dual Destines.Each time I boot up Animal Crossing they remind me how often I am not there. It's always a bummer. Still surprised I managed to log 17 hours on it.

I was pretty obsessed with Pokemon Shuffle for a long while. Then I finally decided to just drop the game. It was just a never-ending grind and I was getting tired of it.
Also played a lot of Smash Bros going into 2015. After my circle pad broke (from wear and tear, not rage), I pretty much stopped playing it though. Should have figured it was going to happen sooner or later given that a lot of other people had the same thing happen. It was annoying to play on the 3DS anyway. Not comfortable at all.
Also got back into Mario Golf again. Still a great game. And I just got Etrian Odyssey during the last Atlus sale a month ago. Really fun game.
I did like the demo, but the controls... I don't know if I can get over them.

Well, my top played game this year is Xenoblade 3D. Got up to level 99. Had already completed it once on the Wii back when it came out here in the UK in 2011, and twice on Dolphin since (and now on another playthrough). So yeah, eek.
Getting an accurate recording of how much I spend on each game is a bit hard though - any homebrew and emulation shows up under Download Play, as shown above, and that includes time spent on different games such as SNES games, for example the time recorded on DKC2:

Was hoping to blow everyone away with my playtime, but plenty already defeated me. I do think I may have the top time for Smash tho.

Incredible year! My most played year, and thats with 145 Hours on Splatoon, 89 on Persona 4 Golden, and around 120 on Neptunia Trilogy/Blood Drive/Ultra Despair Girls!

1: Super Smash Bros. 4 - 294:46 - My favorite game of all time. Most playtime is For Glory.
2: The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes - 72:09 - 100%ed online with randoms and working on single player. Will probably never experience such joy due to region locking and so many search options making the community dead, but it was a once in a lifetime event.
3: Pokemon Shuffle - 62:23 - It makes me mad that a f2p game got so high but oh well. No money spent, mostly just played when I wasn't doing anythng/to do podcasts.
4: Etrian Odyssey IV - 61:40 - My first Etrian Odyssey game! Started on May 18th and played throughout the year. Still on the third Stratum so quite aways to go. I may aswell 100% it.
5: Senran Kagura: Burst - 35:47 - My first SK game and loved it! Quite fun and great characters, may go back to 100% it but I did do all missions including the extra missions.

I sold my original 3DS XL, went a while without one but bought a n3DS XL at launch that I never touched, so I sold it while I could still get most of my money back. Then I picked up the Animal Crossing n3DS and through some persistence was able to recover my digital games from way back when. So, long story short, I had three 3DS this year and this is the most recent one, and I've been torn between other games in my backlog, so not much time at all haha..

The reason Pokemon dominates so much is because I collect the various events that TPC gives out all around the world.To be fair though I sell any spare events or codes I get from this which gives me enough income to support 3/4 of my gaming so it is productive and it appeases my collectors instinct. I could be collecting something that loses me money, not gains it.
Otherwise 2015 was a pretty weak year for the 3DS which is shown in the decreased playtime for this year, although I have bought and have still to play Triforce Heroes and Chibi Robo. Favourite 3DS game of the year was BoxBoy which I played for 8:34. This year also showed a continuation of the roughly exponential decrease in steps down from 384,792 in 2011 which indicates that I'm using my 3DS far more at home than I was before.
