lol nevermind, looks like it's September 29th in Japan, so that's probably late on the 28th here in the US. Although they could hold a separate US event like they've done before, so who knows. But the event on the 29th is in Japan.

I really hope this isn't gonna be hard to find for me since I wanna be on board day one. I'm seriously excited about this, it could be legendary.
I know this is a dumb question, but this will be my first attempt at getting a new system day one...do Amazon or anything other retailer allow preorders for it? Or am I gonna have to wait outside all night?

I've been wanting to get a new DS iteration for a while because the old standard model DS, as much as I like and prefer the design/buttons on it to the Lite for example, I just can't stand how small and dim the screen is. It drives me nuts! I was trying to play DQ IX earlier and it just hampers the experience.

I considered getting a DSi but there seems like no reason to splurge now when I can just wait. Though I may still pick up a used Lite for the GBA capabilities since they're so cheap.

They'll announce a price and release date on the 29th.
Logic dictates (from the fact that they're announcing it so early in the year and have already dropped the price of all DS models) that it will come out this year.

it aint the 29th yet.

this thread made me go back and look at the pictures of the games. I still enjoy the boost from DS graphics. can the PSP do fur shading? I don't think I seen a game that had it.

In terms of shaders and effects, no, the PSP doesn't even come close.
In that regard, it's closer to the 360.
