-IGA is on the verge of seppoku

but why?! I want/NEED a portable castlevania! I've been fed a fucking portable castlevania on nintendo handhelds every 2 years for almost a decade. Now they take it away from me and give me that shit that's on XBLA? I hate konami!

- whatever

I care-ever

- It's dead buddy, let it go

not a single Metroid portable game after the 2 awesome GBA experiences. Pinball? Hunters? What's this about? Pissing off the fanbase as much as possible? Dread is the name I give to whatever metroid game is in the works for 3DS, they better give us something worthwhile this time.

- Ehhh maybe I guess.. not sure if that's what I'd really want.

you bet there are a couple of PSP games or series many a gamer would like to see 3D-fied and compiled in a single cart.

- That's like argueing Chrono is not making a comeback.

but there was a Mana 4 for PS2 and we had children of mana and heroes of mana for DS, didn't we? Maybe try again and not suck? Sword of mana for GBA wasn't bad at all and isn't that old either.

I absolutely don't want the 3DS to get PSP ports. I'll kill you all before that happens.

for a year or two, before the PSP 2 arrives, 3DS and PSP will share every single game possible. Unless it's relying heavy on the 3D aspect or it was negotiated with nintendo as exclusive, 3DS and PSP will share absoutely everything, like PS3/360.

better prepare those forks, Knives and guns.

not really.

but it is very likely that japanese software will have versions of games for both systems.

MGS for 3DS is likely to appear on PSP sooner or later, the portable fanbase is there afterall, why leave money on the table?

Resident Evil:revelations, will it appear on PSP? apparently the project started there anyway.

Will Agito have a 3DS port? why not, easy way to arrive on time to the 3DS launch party and have something to sell.

In regards to japanese software, this will be PS3/360 all over.

I wouldn't mind seeing PSP ports on the 3DS – it gives me a chance to play a great selection of games I haven't been able to encounter yet. I would love to play the new Kingdom Hearts game on there.

The PSP had some good games, like Ys 7. Some I really want, like Gurumin (because we need more Zelda-like games) and the Dracula X remake. And Lumines. I want Lumines!

Also, I really hope that devs don't decide to not put games on the 3DS because they can't exploit the 3D. To rephrase that, I hope nobody thinks, "Elite Beat Agents would be a great for the 3DS, but there's no good way to use the 3D on the system, so we won't release it."

Why have any exclusives? We don't know, but they exist, even from 3rd parties.

Why is MGS4 exclusive on PS3? etc.

Also, they made two new MGS games on the PSP, if they wanted to port MGS3 they could have. I don't think they will port MGS 3DS to PSP...

Why would you do that? said:

Yeah, I'm pretty much counting on this happening.

So Nintendo spent all that effort in getting 3rd parties to develop for their system(developer inputs, etc) just for the games to go to the PSP as downports. 'Kay.

I wonder if we will able to use the slide pad with DS games. That would make a lot of them much more enjoyable.

If we can, it'll still just be limited to 8 directions, since the games weren't designed to use analog controls.

I don't think it would be possible to have 360 degrees of movement though, it would still be 8 directions seeing as that's how they're programmed for the DS.

Edit: d'oh, beaten to it.

Oh yeah, of course it would be limited to 8 directions. I still want it though. :p

Quick, lets talk about something to forget how long we'll wait til we get news about 3DS.

My Top 5 biggest crimes in the Pre-launch stages of the 3DS

.- No castle(Iga)vania in the horizon. This is just BS.
.- No FXIII spin-off announced, not even an agito port or something.
.- Metroid Dread STILL unveiled!! WTF.
.- No PSP enhanced ports (Ultimate G&G, Dissida, etc.) announced
.- No revival of the Mana franchise in sight, bah.

there, 5 reasons why 3DS prelaunch phase sucks ass.

Metroid Dread unveiled? Nice!

How did the recent MGS game sell on the PSP? Must have sold quite a bit.

Um, why not? So long as 3D isn't an integral part of gaming it makes perfect sense to port DS games to the PSP (well, so long as the cost of porting is expected to be less than the revenue generated).

You've never played Meteos or Elite Beat Agents.

that's simply not true
I've played TONS(at least 1-2 hours a day) of Elite Beat Agents for weeks on my DS and I don't have a single scratch or anything similar on my touchscreen

as long as I get my KH fix, I'm fine. could use more RPGs though. and racers for that matter. Criterion-developed Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 3D would be beautiful. oh, and some shooters. Renegade Kid and N-Space should already be onboard to provide that. :D

This. There aren't two games i've played more on my DS than Meteos and Ouendan and I don't have a single scratch. It's always puzzled me how people damage theirs, it's not like I've used cotton buds on mine instead of a stylus....

I gotta agree that EBA is the ultimate DS bottom screen destroyer. I finished the game and I am somehow glad the sequel didn't make it to the west. That would have ruined my DS for good.

There's something wrong : why hasn't any 3DS launch line-up been unveiled yet ?
Did you heard about the upcoming conference that will be held the 29th?

Iwata rang me this morning and said he doesn't want your dirty money.

The biggest reason is that if the tip of your stylus gets worn down/altered by dropping etc... it can EASILY scratch up the screen pretty bad before you realize what is going on.

Nonsince, I want them all ported so I'll never have to use that crummy piece of Hardware again. The PSP has awesome games though.

I certainly would like to see a rendition of Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX for the 3DS. I wanted to buy a PSP for this game at a certain point, but OMG at the PSP-1000 d-pad!!!

There's some scans floating somewhere around the net.

Twas mention in the Famitsu thread. Personally I can't believe it's not vapourware. I know it had screenshots released at E3 but it felt like such a "We built a prototype to create hype but we're still not sure about this" type of announcement. Guess I shouldn't be too surprised. NGDS had all the makings of a vapourware product when it was announced at E32004 but then it turned out to be an actual product in actual development.
