3DS in 2014 | Games to look forward to?

I might have to give up gaming on everything else just to game more on my 3DS. That lineup is already great and we don't even know what else is coming.

As someone who is not at all interested in Japanese games/RPG's, there is no way that 2014 could even come close to 2013. Yoshi, Kirby, Smash and Mario Golf excite me...the others, not so much.

I want all of the games on this list besides Mario Golf.
Persona Q won't be in Europe until 2015 though, possibly later.
Oh, and I'm so hyped for more Kirby, I love that guy!

I wonder if Atlus USA can squeeze Persona Q next year considering its a June release in Japan. I think they'll probably prioritize P4A2 and Persona 5 though.

For the list outside of Persona Q. Definitely Bravely Default. Going to skip Smash Bros. 3DS in favor of the Wii U version.

I'm interested in Kirby, Iron Fall, Persona, MonHun 4 (Haven't played one since first on ps2 though 3 ultimate is in my queue), Bravely Default looks amazing and is a definite purchase. The idea of an old school FF sounds amazing, and I missed 4 Warriors of Light. I should pick that up someday.

If they had such a quick (sorry Europe) turnaround on SMT IV, I can't see any way that Persona 4 Q doesn't make it this year. Unless they go crazy are secretly planning near simultaneous localization for 5.

If it comes out June in Japan, I think it will be out here by October. I think Etrian Oddysey came really fast, and Persona is even more popular than that franchise.

I'm expecting this in 2015.

MH3G released in JP in 2011. The localized iteration MH3U arrived in 2013. Over a year later. I'm sure we will have a year wait, after a G edition of MH4....

:(

I've put over 400 hours into 3U, too.
Couldn't they use the translated text in mh3u and bring it over to mh4? Would definitely speed up localization no?

I'm sure we'll get more first party announcements from Nintendo too. Looks like a solid line up so far, but hopefully more come.

Specifically....a new 2D Metroid. Man I'm already drooling at the hypothetical thought of one.

What good does MH3U text do for MH4?

If anything, the logic would've worked for MHTri -> MH3U as it's based off of the same thing and was localized by the same company (8-4, Ltd.). But even that didn't move particularly fast unless they started really late with the MH3U localization.

Wow that's an impressive lineup to an already great one. Pretty much every game on that list I would buy.

I just purchased a 3DS XL yesterday and had a very hard time choosing games, there's just so many great games for this system. Such a good problem to have ;)

Got ALBW for me and Mario Kart for my wife :)

This thing is seriously going to give me that jrpg fix I've been so desperately seeking.

Put in 2 hrs into ALBW and I'm loving it! Just has the classic Zelda feel to it.

Like item/armor/weapons etc text not story stuff but eh I guess your right about that last part :/

Can I just jump into that series or will I be totally lost?

I've been wondering that as well because it could very well be my next 3DS game if it's accessible.

SMTIV is perfect for newcomers. The mechanics are explained really well, there's an easy difficulty if you are having trouble, and the story is brand new.

Fantastic start point for anyone looking to get into the series. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Thank you for letting me know! That's very helpful and just made up my mind.

I will purchase this game once I've completed A Link Between Worlds. Will probably pick up SM 3D Land as well. I feel like I will be purchasing a lot of 3DS games this month, lol

Hopefully SMT4, MH4 get EU dates. Wasn't SMT4 supposed to come out this month in EU? god damn it Atlus.

Majora's mask is likely to be announced soon... hyped for nintendo direct.

Also looking forward to Persona Q.

Definitely a lot to look forward to. And the secret projects they're working on that will be announced are even more exciting to think about. I plan to get most of these games, minus Monster Hunter 4. I tried really hard to like 3 for Wii, I just...couldn't get into it. And I don't like killing dinosaurs. Soooo maybe I shouldn't have even bought it. But you know me, continually supporting third party games on Nintendo just cause.

Wait what? What is this about Majora's Mask getting announced?

I want to be excited for Mario Golf but with modern Nintendo I have a feeling it won't be nearly as challenging or deep as the RPG golf game I remember from back in the day.

As others have mentioned, there's SMTIV in EU (if ever) and Theatrhythm: Curtain Call. I'd expect a December 2013/January 2014 Direct to give us another game or 2 for 3DS. Also I expect Pokémon Z/X2Y2/RS Remakes later next year as well.

Bravely Default, Shovel Knight, and Persona Q are on my radar. Persona Q being basically Persona crossed with Etrian Odyssey just sounds too good to be true, though I'm not liking the chibi art.

Devil Survivor, well, I haven't played the first one yet.

Might play Smash, but I generally just don't like Smash games.

Yoshi still looks hideous, but if it plays like the SNES one... I dunno, I'll have to try it.

The tech for Ironfall is impressive, but I'd wait for impressions on a cover shooter.

Never played any of those Mario sports games, but in general golf is one of the few sports I think translates in an entertaining way into video games, so I'll probably give it a go.

Really want Phoenix Wright / Ace Attorney, another installment of 999, a Dragon Quest VII localization, and Metroid & Majora's Mask announcements.

Good lineup, but it really really needs a 2D Metroid or Castlevania game to round everything out. Hell Cacpcom should release a Megaman ZX game for the 3DS, i really don't know why they haven't!!!

I'm still waiting for Rune Factory 4 here in Europe. Hopefully won't be too far into 2014.
Also Monster Hunter 4 of course, if it's coming in 2014, that'd be great. The sooner the better. I know you can do it, Capcpom.

Lots of other great games coming next year, and I still have a huge backlog of other games on 3DS. Good stuff.

Persona Q has me the most hyped. Smash is something I'll get eventually, as the Wii U version is top priority for me.

I can't help you if you need crazy amounts of room, but I use the Hori game case. It holds 24 carts and it definitely won't have any risk of opening up unintentionally (if anything, the clamp might be too tight the first few times you use it).

Oh look, it's the same thing I have, but massively improved by the fact that I'm not forced to have an SD card slot. Fuck yeah, improvements. Might get it, but for now I carry around one sheet of the older one, and so far it holds all my physical games. If I get more I'll probably invest in this.

Still waiting on SMTIV and Etrian Odyssey: Millenium Girl for Europe, but on the other hand, I've got Layton:Azran Legacies and a Bravely Default sitting here. The release schedule giveth with one hand, and taketh away with the other! :D

Otherwise, I'm looking forward to Rune Factory 4 (although with the developer declaring bankruptcy this may not happen). Still, Shovel Knight, Monster Hunter IV, Layton vs Wright. It's going to be another good year. Fingers crossed for Persona Q, and again for Dragon Quest VII.
