Wth is up with the forums these past few weeks, 500 errors constantly, anyone including the mods have any answers? This will NOT work out well come E3.
I was here for last E3 and 500 errors didn't appear until E3 came around, not weeks before it.demonix69 said:The boards are just more active than usual because of E3 coming up. The server can't handle it. This happens every year doesn't it?
Haha easy mistake when you have multiple tabs open.USD said:Hahaha, I kept refreshing this thread because I thought I was getting 500'd. :lol

I was thinking of posting this in the OT forum, but since I'm a strictly Gaming poster only, an exception should be made for this thread since it affects both OT and Gaming forum.Alphahawk said:I heard the framerate was better on the 360 verssion.Seriously, this should be in off topic, I'm tired of this seperate boards. seperate worlds bullshit.

batbeg said:Ditto. I think Evilore said before that it was just some database stuff going on, but that was a while ago and this is pretty annoyingWhy can't we have a fundraiser or something?
Thanks for the answer, hopefully you get it up to scratch in time for E3. I really love GAF during E3 and having this problem while it's on will seriously kill the whole thing for me.EviLore said:It's not that the servers can't handle the this level of traffic, it's that the database size exceeded RAM again. This was supposed to be addressed via database changes but that's been put on hold, so I'll be bandaiding it with a RAM increase to the database server to ensure that there won't be a catastrophic failure during E3.
Yes, it's EXTREMELY annoying, and it's not going to stay this way. Don't worry and try to be patient.

AstroLad said:i would totally pay to become a Gaf GoldMember, especially if you could have animated sigs and custom tages and stuff (<1 MB to keep things sane). been working on a pretty cool one in photoshop that i'd love to bust out and it's just too annoying to do tags after every post. can they do sound too? think i saw that somewhere.
anyway, might be the best solution--the Mods should consider it imo.[/QUOTE]
now that would make bannings sting
Are you sure the site will hold up during E3? I can imagine it explodingEviLore said:It's not that the servers can't handle the this level of traffic, it's that the database size exceeded RAM again. You're joking, right? There'd be mass hysteria. Evilore would have to fear for his life (well, okay, he'd probably only have to fear hackers, but you get the point).Haunted One said:Time to close the OT.

I still say close the OT, just to be on the safe side.
Yeah... no. I hardly post in the gaming section. If anything the gaming side should be closed, that way we don't even have to worry about all this silly E3 thing.Haunted One said:Time to close the OT.

OTers can be scary when they're angry.
