Refurbished Price? I'm not above pre-owned, especially when my future purchase is only for two games then resell, but.. it seems like it would have more value on Gamestop/Amazon/NeoGAF/Ebay if it was bought brand new with a pack-in for $80.
Unless! You know somewhere I can find a 2DS cheaper (even 10 bucks) with no packin? I haven't been able to beat $80.

Nintendo's refurbished hardware looks practically brand new. I ordered a White Deluxe Wii U for the girlfriend last year for Christmas and outside of the packaging it looked like it was purchased new at retail, same goes for the Midnight Purple 3DS I bought for a friend at Christmas '14.
A Google sampling of customers doing the same will net you the same result, and there's even threads here on NeoGAF of folks that bought refurbished hardware from Nintendo.
A refurbished 2DS from Nintendo will run your $70 and comes pre-installed with Mario Kart 7. Definitely your best deal in regards to getting like-new hardware with a full warranty.

I love the look of my black n3DS XL. Much better looking than pervious models.
I usually hate glossy but on this one don't mind it for some reason. Maybe cause it has a subtle textured look under the gloss, like marble or something.

That page has been up for a week or two now. Would Best Buy just randomly put these up for sale and then not have any available for Black Friday? Could they 'oops' that bad?

If the poster took the box to checkout, wouldn't it have been the computer system that would say whether or not it was purchasable or not? And wouldn't it say specifically WHEN it was going on sale?
Plus it seems a little weird to have merchandising sitting on selves for an entire week and not able to purchase, unless the fuckup was an employee putting them out early.

I've pretty much given up hope of getting one of these on Black Friday in my area. So many career scalpers that unless Nintendo has some massive quantities that I won't easily be able to pick one up and I'd rather not spend a day off hunting everywhere for one.

I got a USB charging cable (actually the store I bought my N3DS XL from included the cable for free, but I was planning on buying one anyway) and I much prefer it over using Nintendo's charger, especially since I live in 220-volts land and I buy US systems so I need to use a bulky electric transformer with Nintendo's chargers (incidentally, Nintendo is still so backwards about this, they're virtually the only company still making voltage-locked devices, smh). So I just plug the USB cable into my phone charger to fill my 3DS with juice.
Although I make sure not to use my Samsung Fast Charger, because even though it should be safe in theory, and I don't think there have been reports of it causing a problem with 3DS, I know the fast chargers destroy PS4 controllers, so I'd rather not risk it and I use a spare 2-amp charger that I have.
Amazon has those cables for $3-$4

I worked at best buy 2 years ago and they don't know shit. We would get bins of stuff and just put it out. Some of it was labeled specific to not go out and would sit in the back for certain days. We had some beats headphones that were meant to be sold on a certain day and I kept putting them on the shelf just to over hear customers freak out they were available then the front tell them no and bring them to the back. Since best buy pays dogshit the employees (at least me) don't give a fuck what you see because the registers stop the sale.
Yeah even working there and knowing things from reading blogs and sites the other people there could give a shit and tell you whatever they felt like at any minute.
Maybe there are more in the back? Why pile all of them out there day one even when they can't sell them?

Hmm these are actually cool, possibly more convenient than carrying/managing another cable... but they're twice as pricey as the cable and potentially easy to lose/misplace. I'll keep an eye on it and if I see it drop in price I might get one. Seems well reviewed.

I haven't held a non-XL N3DS yet but based on the above it looks a lot smaller to me, only slightly bigger than OG 3DS, which I had and sold as soon as I got the old XL because I prefered the bigger screen. Now I have a N3DS XL and love it... I'm going to take a chance on this $99 N3DS and see how I like it, but I suspect I'm going to prefer the XL and will probably end up gifting the smaller one.
They have way more than that locked up lol...but it's not out until Black Friday. They can't sell it to you at the register.
Was at my local Target and Best Buy today, but unlike the Best Buy in the reply above, mine didn't have any on the shelf. I stopped by Target because on the off chance they accidentally had it out early, that store's checkout machines frequently give wrong prices/other errors, and the employees are used to overriding the machines, so I figured if the machine didn't allow the purchase I had a decent chance of convincing the clerk otherwise. But they didn't have any out early.

I've been to two Best Buy stores, three Target stores, a Walmart, and two Meijer stores. Nothing. The Best Buy stores had the stickers out on the shelves, but no units available yet.

Damn, that is quite the reduction. Now I'm seriously conflicted. I didn't think I'd mind a smaller screen but that is... quite a bit smaller. On one hand it'd be nice to have a 3DS that actually fits nicely in a pocket (my XL feels a bit bulky in there), but I'm not sure I want to have to hold the thing closer to my face at all times. IQ may look a bit better on a smaller screen, but not much. FFS now what am I going to do...
