The NeoGAF Black Friday 2025 Deals Thread

No gpu.. You should pass on it. Find something nice with a GPU in it. Even if you don't want to game on it primarily, it will come in handy when or if you ever decide to play a few games on it on the go.

Also, better resale value. But that is my 2 cent.

yea did notice that. trying not to spend too much though don't wanna go into the 1k+ territory

Someone knows where to get some cheap psn or ps+ cards? My essential plus will expire only december next year, but I would like to get some more time for cheap if possible.

I got the GTA 5 XSX update for 15$ and Far Cry 4 for 5$.

That's it. I got enough games already 😊
Far Cry 4 is my favorite game in the series, hands down. Hope you enjoy it!

You can't buy PS+ cards anymore.

It's currently discounted on the PlayStation store though, but only for select random individuals, not for everyone. So login and check, the discount might apply for you and you can stack on another year.

Costco has PSN cards $90 for $100 PSN. So you can get those and PSN is running a discount on yearly subscription, although it may not appear for everyone.

I did above to get the Premium plan for under $100 for a year.

Both Madden and NHL 26 are on sale but I'm really hesitant as both of them have been shit on the last few years.

But it would be fun to play during the Xmas Holidays 🤔

First decent BF haul in a long time. Nintendo has gotten most of my game money this year. Since picking up the Switch 2 I decided to buy exclusives (and one notable awesome port) since they seem to be the only company that knows the meaning of the word. My haul so far:

Nintendo:
Star Wars Outlaws
Paper Mario Thousand Year Door
Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom
Legend of Zelda Links Awakening
Princess Peach Showtime
Donkey Kong Country Returns HD
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 and DLCs
Mario and Luigi Brothership.

Meta:
Vampire Survivors
Aim Assault
Demeo X Dungeons and Dragons

GOG:
Fallout 4 GOTY (For the hassle free Fallout London Install)

Steam:
Of Ash and Steel
Neon Inferno
Plus an additional 40 or so games to my library thanks to bundles

Sony:
PS Portal
Alien Rogue Incursion
Vertigo
The Light Brigade
Assassins Creed Shadows: Claws of Awaji

To the backlog they go!!!

To follow up on my Gamefly dilemma in case anyone else is in the same situation. I reached out to support and confirmed it was for current members but also there was no specific time requirement. I subbed for a month and added the 12 months GC. I should be good for 16 months total.

Apparently, I have forgotten how to work the queue. I was going to go for Octopath Traveler 0 next week but left 2 very low availability titles in my queue. I will be playing Dragon Quest I & II 2D Remake and Luigi Mansion 2 instead. :messenger_grinning_squinting:

RIP. I miss buying my annual PS+ cards at 25% off

Sony does have 33% off for current and new subscribers for BF. But as usual they do some weird things where not everyone gets the discount. This "dynamic pricing" is BS.
Mine is about to expire, and the only discount they're offering is 33% off if I want to upgrade to a higher tier for the remainder of my existing term. I'm not going to pay $12 to get "premium" or whatever for a month and a half (only to have it auto-renew for $149/year). No thanks. Just cancelled my auto-renewal on the $80/year plan I've been on for a decade.

Got the following PC games for €8 shy of €100

Spiderman Remastered
Spider Man Miles Morales
Hellblade 2
Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection
Cyberpunk 2077
Returnal

Pretty pleased with that. Just a shame they'll get added to the backlog and I'll probably never play them mind :messenger_pensive:

Nothing much gaming related. I bought a Z13 in a pre-Black Friday sale. Got a 2TB SD card to go along with it.

Not impressed with videogame sales for the most part but I got Dead Space which was pretty cheap. I was hopping to finally try out Palworld but it ain't on sale.

Guess this would be more in line

I mean, 5050 is a shit GPU, but still better than that. You can play some games at low settings. If you can find something cheap with 5060 at least would be great imo. But if the choice is these 2 laptops only. Then this 100%

That laptop did have an OLED screen, though no? I forgot.

You should check the screen of this one first. Like a demo or a review. Some laptop screens are ugly.

I do like IPS screens more than OLED for laptops just because of potential burn-in. I don't suppose these laptops have high-quality OLED screens for sure.

You really need to make time for Spider-Man and Cyberpunk 2077. Those are the kind of games you need to experience at least once before you expire

yea, obviously I'm going to have to compromise on certain things if I'm going for a budget below a certain amt.

I took a chance on an MSI OLED monitor from Costco for $380. Otherwise not that much was exciting for me (already own Super Mario Odyssey, Paper Mario: TTYD, FF7R etc.)

My only black friday discount related purchase this year.

Terminator Resistance: Complete Edition for $13

Normally it's $60, separately the DLC alone is $13.99 for someone who might already own the copy.

The full game+DLC is cheaper than just the Annihilation Line story DLC.

This Black Friday edition wasn't very good, was it?
BF hasn't been great since before the pandemic (and honestly probably longer).

Half the 'deals' are straight up scams (raise prices by 20% a few weeks before, then give 30% off). The rise of digital has created less incentive for steep discounts. We get 20-40% still but we used get 60%+

One of my go to's every year was the 25% off PS+ cards at GS. Those cards are dead now so we're all just at the mercy of Sony's discount spin-o-Rama

Yes My friend, I was already expecting to buy the Samsung Z Fold 7... But I'll wait, the new Fold or the Huawei mate X7 will be out in a few months.

My haul
ROG Strix OLED XG27UCDMG - this monitor is insane.
5070ti genuine discounts for both not the crap of raising before then offering discounts.

Steamdeck that was on offer via steam

Some TCL 4k 50inch tv for watching stuff in the bedroom

I didn't see any games I were interested in buying or saw any on good offers.

Nothing too exciting but I got Avatar, Cuphead, Hogwarts and Back 4 Blood for ~45USD in total.

I went completely overboard on networking though and bought two fairly high-end WiFi 7 mesh routers. It'll be years before I can take full advantage of them but the wireless bridge (that I bought the second node for) can supposedly do 6-7Gb/s in real use.

In terms of deals, kind of a down year I thought? The only eye popping deal I saw was the $100 Zotac GPU from New egg that lasted 30 seconds.

Some solid deals on games, that $9 Hogwarts Legacy key mentioned above is definitely one of the best ones.

Personally, I went with the flash sale on Humble Choice. One month for $7.50, which is worth it for Warhammer 3 as far as I'm concerned. Let me know if you want any of the other Steam keys btw!
