Sweet web app! Thanks for all of your hard work.
There isn't any way to do that. Only one keyboard in Safari for form elements.Marty Chinn said:Hey ckohler, I was wondering if you had any control over which keyboard pops up in mobile Safari? One small nice thing would be when you input a page number for the jump to page, it would pull up a keyboard with numbers on it. Just curious if there was any way to handle that. Posting is amazing.
I was testing something. Ignore the stealth edit.infiniteloop said:123456789?
Crazy
I'm sure I've had a numpad pop up somewhere before (that wasn't the phone).ckohler said:There isn't any way to do that. Only one keyboard in Safari for form elements.

Yeah, that feature never worked well because images and such load after the page is rendered, causing it to jump to the wrong place. I may ultimately remove that.jonnybryce said:Just wanted to say thanks and that it's awesome again. I have the option to jump to last post but hitting > doesn't do that automatically, not even sure if it's supposed to, but hitting the \/ on the page does so it's still super fast.
Thank you very much for your work.

Great King Bowser said:Any way to have pages displayed independent of what you have set for GAF in your User CP? 100 posts per page is fine on a PC, but that's quite a lot of scrolling on my phone. :lol
Other than that, NeoGAF is now my most used bookmark on the go.![]()
McBradders said:So the new age restriction doo-dads... does this mean the GAF app can get a full proper release now?![]()
Sorry but it has to reflect your CP settings. Another nifty side effect is when you set post to be in reverse order (newest to oldest). The web app will also display that way.Great King Bowser said:Any way to have pages displayed independent of what you have set for GAF in your User CP? 100 posts per page is fine on a PC, but that's quite a lot of scrolling on my phone. :lol

Good idea. I'll work on this when I have some free time and have it list all of the recent improvements. Those old screenshots don't really do it justice anymore either, so I can update those too.Marty Chinn said:Hey ckohler, I have a suggestion that actually falls outside of doing anything to the web app. Would you mind editing your OP with instructions on how to create a webclip icon for the app on the iPhone/iTouch? It might help the new people who aren't aware of being able to do that let alone how to do it. Would be great so that in the future when people ask about it, we can just point them to your OP which will have all the details.

There is still a weird bug when posting long posts that I haven't been able to figure out yet. I tried testing it some today but can't understand the problem so it's best to keep posts made in the web app short for now.
Meier said:I don't understand how their could be confusion... you hit the favorites button and it suggests send to home screen or to the bookmarks folder. It's very intuitive.
Shame about the posts per page being based off the CP... I might just change it on my PC so that it carries over.

I'm using a Palm Pre, if that makes any difference.

Another issue I have is that there doesn't seem to be any way to tell how far down a page you already scrolled or an easy skip to top/bottom of page.
Awesome app though. Browsing GAF through a normal mobile browser was a pain. Having everything formatted so I don't have to constantly zoom in and out makes it so much easier.
Samesieskassatsu said:Still getting 500 on gaming side. =\
No clue what is wrong. Going to the regular neogaf worked fine. It was all day yesterday, the site was up OT worked fine but the app would 500 on gaming.ckohler said:Don't know what to tell you guys about the 500 errors. The web app will only say that IF NeoGAF returns a 500. My app doesn't generate 500 errors, those come from the gaf servers before my app displays the message.
Yeah I guess. I was a new iPhone user and like I said, it felt very intuitive to me and seemed like an obvious option based on the wording. It certainly couldn't hurt to spell it out in the OP though.Marty Chinn said:It's not that it's hard, but I think a lot of people don't realize you can do it. There's a lot of people asking about it too. When you think abou it, as far as I know, it's something that I've only ever seen on the iPhone so new iPhone users won't even realize they can. So if they don't know they can do it, chances are they won't even know how to do it.

ckohler said:Arrg! I figured out why you guys were getting the 500 errors! Some genius put the exact phrase "500 - Internal Server Error" in the title of his thread and THAT was throwing my app off. :lol I had to change the way I detect 500 errors.
