There is a genuine concern about whether or not this will effect game design. It's the same thing with mobile F2P games. A lot of them sure you can play and not pay a dime, but the game is designed to inconvenience you to the point you spend money.
Destiny is largely PvE, I don't see the problem.
Also it doesn't really affect weapon damage, etc. So PvP is still relatively balanced.
the hell are you talking about. you can buy a level boost to 90 on WoW. With it you also get gear/gold.
I don't see how that applies to it being ok if it was f2p.it's a negative design decision and a slippery slope if this stuff comes to fruition
i would say that the majority of games that employ microtransaction services like these eventually offer more and more things geared towards making the overall player experience faster and easier, even at end game content
Yeah! Why?Have you ever played a loot game before
Well that's debatable, tbh. "Better" loot can only go so far in this game, ya know? I pay money and get a 310 chest piece...is that really a huge advantage that breaks the game for you?
Yeah! Why?
So let me get this straight.
People datamine stuff from the database and instantly assume it's microtransactuons, making some bullshit alarmist topic about it?
Not only that, but people believe it.
Good stuff.

And those weapons are exotics and good roll legendary weapons you get from engrams and armsday, not from raids. How often have you come across players with raid weapons that dominate so far? And with the new light system the damage dealt is so minimal in Iron Banner and Trials in power levels.Thats not true at all there are weapons better than others in PvP due to their abilities. Not to mention Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris have no equalization

But you don't have to mess with it.nothing about the OP is alarmist but whatever fits the narrative for you breh
at the very least it'd be palatable, rather than shoving it in a product people have already invested 60+ dollars in just to play
Not only that, but monetizing the loot hunt affects game balance and drop rates for all players, which is something Diablo 3 made plain back when it still had the real money auction house. You don't understand the concept or appeal of loot based games, do you? The loot becomes the gameplay after a certain point. PVE or PVP is immaterial, people repeat the same content 1000 times to increase their epeen size. It's silly and meaningless, but that's the reality. When you allow people to buy their epeen, the system crumbles.
Or the $130 the it cost me as a year one player for the game that currently exists.at the very least it'd be palatable, rather than shoving it in a product people have already invested 60+ dollars in just to play

An advantage in what way?and that would put players that did use it at an advantage thanks to destiny's shitty RNG system
just because i don't use it, doesn't it mean it wouldn't effect me.
yeah, hence 60+. i was trying to be conservative but i know full well the majority of players have been there since before TTK
Are you playing the same Iron Banner? In Iron Banner right now Raid Weapons own
"Additional microtransaction items found in latest destiny patch"
No proof whatsoever of it being microtransaction based.

Game design can be affected by microtransactions like this. Whenever a publisher/developer knows they can make money off of impatient people they can/may design the game to take longer for certain things to happen to encourage microtransaction sales. Which sucks for those not wanting to be nickel and dimed or spend an exorbitant amount of time to keep up with others. Not saying that is what is happening here. But it sure looks like it.
Are you playing the same Iron Banner?
I play several matches in Iron Banner an hour ago and most of players are using exotics ,conspiracy theory shotguns and 1000 yard stare snipers . The only viable raid weapon is the raid LMG but that can replaced with vendor LMG with better perks and stats.

Yeah, what's wrong with people and not giving Bungie the benefit of the doubt here.
They've handled Destiny pretty great so far, let's just see what happens before we get upset.
Well that's debatable, tbh. "Better" loot can only go so far in this game, ya know? I pay money and get a 310 chest piece...is that really a huge advantage that breaks the game for you?
They have a financial incentive to adjust drop rates to make it appealing to buy the boost, making it a worse experience for anyone avoiding buying microtransactions. This is the path in every game with these microtransactions, and it will happen with Destiny, but every single time there are people lacking critical thinking who scream why does it matter.
I gave Destiny a new try with the expansion, after all the praise it got, then immediately dropped it once microtransactions were announced. Once that starts obviously it will lead here.
i don't think it's bungie. it's actiblizz. we've seen with games like wow that it's a slippery slope... i remember the beta for the battle.net shop having exp potions and they ultimately limited it to asia only because people didn't want them
I don't try to be.Are you being ignorant on purpose, when multiple people have told you exactly how it could be an advantage?
Then he has to be that damn skilled to use that weapon since that AR has atrocious recoil pattern even with the stability perks. Everybody avoid that AR like a plague.Top player in my IB matches today with my fully upgraded Raid AR.
An advantage in what way?

ARs in general are trash in PVP.
The optimist in me says that these items are the long awaited use for Etheric Light. The pessimist says it's another silver sink.
No, fuck that noise. Let's rageLet's wait until some of this stuff actually appears in game before anyone burns their copy of Destiny and storms Bungie's offices, Ok?
It sure has me looking at the 3 of coins differently now.The optimist in me says that these items are the long awaited use for Etheric Light. The pessimist says it's another silver sink.
Not since TTK.
Not surprising at all, but they should have been more forthcoming that it wasn't just emotes.
Could you be any more melodramatic?
