The giant bubbles splitting just to shoot out and kill you makes this a lot less fun.

It's a double edged sword. They can royally screw themselves doing that, ya they may kill you but they might get swallowed up by someone who's now bigger cause they split. If you see someone who would still be bigger than you if they split in two, you don't wanna be anywhere near them.

Oh, but it's so much fun once you're the big bubble. It's scary though. I feel like every time I split as a big bubble, I'm in danger.

Controls seem really laggy/dodgy for me once I play for a few seconds. Is that intentional?

Smooth as silk over here. The bubbles do slow down the bigger you get though.

You just have to play around it. If you stick close to a green spike blob (works best if it's in front of you, but behind you works pretty well too), they aren't going to split up to try and get you because there's a huge risk that they'll hit it and explode into tons of little blobs.

It is still a fun mechanic. It is annoying when it succeeds, but it is glorious when they fail. One guy was coming after me pretty hard, split on me to try to eat me and ended up hitting a green spiky ball. He split into a ton of smaller balls and I ended up being able to grow immensely because of that.

After an hour of being in the lead I finally got bored and let myself die. I stopped getting bigger and my peers were so far away from me. I shoulda just stopped... but damn it felt good to be no more a cell than a god.

Yeah, I just held the lead for a while, found a couple of spots to trap whoever was behind me in the leader boards before I just stopped. It's less fun when you're not really in any danger.

Shit, I just spent an hour and a half on one round. It's pretty easy to stay big for a while once you get there. Maybe just a lot of new people playing today, and I played a bit last night.

Anyone have good strategies? aside from:

1.) if you're being chased by a bigger blob, you can gain significant distance by cornering tightly around the obstacle things.

2.) If you're one of the bigger blobs, generally you want to wander around opportunistically looking for battlefields with a lot of stuff happening and just launch into it.

3.) The time before you can recombine after a split is very confusing. Is it purely time based, or based on the number of things you've absorbed since the split, or based on something else? Pretty sure it's not based on the relative size of your blobs, because you can never recombine right after a split attack. One fun strategy is to wait until you have two blobs that are ready to recombine, and then position them so they're partially inside each other and it looks like one blob is chasing another (you can cover the name of one of the blobs if your name isn't too long). Then, you run around in the direction of the faster, smaller blob (otherwise the blobs would get closer and recombine) looking for a sucker to think they're about to eat two smaller blobs. Then at the last second you recombine and eat them!*

4.) It's hard to tell what determines your speed. Size is the obvious factor, but there are definitely cases where a bigger blob can outpace a smaller enemy blob. I think this happens when you have a lot of speedy smaller blobs sitting around -- they seem to give all of your bigger blobs a speed boost. Or maybe it's a temporary speed boost you get from hitting an obstacle?

5.) (Usually) Play defensively after you've launched a split attack, since you have to wait a while before recombining.

*Note: Can go horribly wrong.

One thing I noticed is that you move slower if your mouse is closer to your circle. I use it when I'm tiny to more accurately gobble up the unnamed stationary dots. But, there might be something more to speed, since I've always had lag and haven't been able to get that big.

Got up to 3rd place and then a guy ate one of my two blobs while my larger one was working on him. That spiraled me out of control until I finally split my self into ~20 pieces to the next biggest blob I saw.

pro-strategy: when small find the big dudes in the top 5. Hang around near them and act as a bottom feeder grabbing the dots around them. People are afraid to split at the risk of missing you and hitting the big dude and you're too small for the big dude to care about or risk a split for. This lets you develop a strong early game.

I've already poured so many hours into this game. They've been making some great changes so far. Really looking forward to see how it develops. I'd love to see it on other platforms.

Yep, a tactic I use as well. Feel like one of those cleaner fish. Lure in people for him to eat, eat the scraps.

This game is amazing. When they added the ability to split on command that completely changed the game. I can't wait to see what else they do.

I was the biggest blob, known as "big ass"

Then the game just restarted.... why, why did it end like that.

Damn. Highest I've ever gotten was 4th and then tried splitting but it backfired terribly. So addicting.

Seeing a big dot with the name "Oprah" was running around absorbing others gives me a chuckle every time.

My strategy is sort of hang out by a corner and wait for someone to zoom past me then trap them. I also look for obstacles along the edges and try to chase people into them so they can either split or get absorbed.

i was obama in a game with soviet union, osama bin laden, ron paul, clinton and adolf hitler.
