Grabbed this as soon as it went up this morning. Only played half an hour or so but I'm already totally on board. I'm away in a couple of weeks and I was looking for something to take with me, this seems perfect.

So glad this was localised.

Edit: had a bit more time to play. Really enjoying it so far, and the humour is definitely jiving with me. Great job chaps.

Also, I appreciate that people are still using spoilers in here. I was worried about reading this thread with the UK release being so late, so thanks for the etiquette.

How much did you pay for it? £30 seems steep :/

So it's out in Europe now? Tempting, but I think I'll wait for the PS4 version to come out in the U.S. and import it. I hope it's a good port that takes advantage of the superior hardware. I have been reading a few complaints about loading times in the PS3/Vita version after all and it would be nice to see those shortened.

It's £32.99 on PSN but if you buy £35 PSN credit on CDkeys.com and use their Facebook 5% discount you can get the game for £29.50ish and still have a couple of quid left over.

It is a fun little brawler kinda game, glad you are enjoying it.

How annoying. My online store of choice told me they weren't getting the game and every other store is charging 50 euros for it (forget it), so I went with the cheapest UK store I could find and now it's back-ordered there. :( Not even Amazon UK has it in stock so I guess the supply and demand weren't aligned.
Looking forward to the game though.

The PS4 version definitely makes use of the superior hardware, but mostly just for higher-resolution visuals and a consistent framerate with no skipping. There ARE shorter load times, but they're not a LOT shorter -- the biggest boost there is that NPCs load into the areas a lot quicker than they did in the PS3 and Vita versions, which was a much bigger complaint for most people anyway (if you use fast-travel, load times for the areas themselves are overall pretty inconsequential since you'll only be changing areas immediately prior to lengthy story cutscenes and/or extended fights, none of which have ANY load times to speak of).

Is there going to be an option to use the Japanese VO?

Every English version has this option, as far as I know. Dual voice, and even dual text in case you want to brush up on your Japanese reading comprehension. ;)

Has XSeed still not given any indication of the PS4 release timeframe?

Not just yet, but we should be giving you guys a firm release date soon, along with more info on (and footage of) the PS4 version's extra features.

So, I got this game today, finally (and for only 32€, too!). Can't wait to play.

I did notice a small glitch in the options menu, though: When you default the language options and then look at the camera options, the vertical camera rotation option will display as being set to "English". Is that in the American version, too? Not really a big deal, just thought it was funny. :D

Yeah, we caught that same bug in the PS4 version (and fixed it), then later confirmed that we'd missed it in the PS3 and Vita versions. Very weird, but fortunately super-minor issue.

I started playing this today. There's some issues with the frame rate occasionally but other than that I really like it (Had to put the Vita on charge when I blew through the charge in a single sitting. Never happens to me). Combat is fun and clothes ripping seems to be equally shared between male and female npcs which is a nice touch of equality.

Enjoying the voice acting (Especially Nana). Police can be a bit of a pain. Is it possible to romance the female police officer who fines you?

To an extent, yes. It never goes anywhere, but it does result in some pretty funny (albeit pointless) exchanges that I had an absolute BLAST translating. ;)

One of the first side quests is to take out three groups of thugs in different areas. I've done it twice now. Is that supposed to be a repeatable way of making some cash? How many times can you do that quest?

Yeah there's a few repeatable side quests in the game. There's no limit to how many times you can do them but they will disappear as you progress through the story and be replaced by new ones.

Are there any gameplay differences between the PS4 and Vita versions? I'm not sure which to buy.

Perhaps just get the PS4 version and do remote play?

I've played this for a couple of hours and it's pretty much what I expected. Fun, light and really silly. Can't stop smiling like an idiot at times. Thanks for localizing it and I hope the game sells well. Shame about the Kati thing though.

Where can I see how much stuff I have in my inventory, and is the crash issue going to get patched?

And the tutorial messages just screams Tom. It's just those ;)'s that are missing. Love it.

bad gameplay lol
One thing I've noticed about this and many other XSEED games is that someone on the translation staff really likes their Simpsons references. :lol

Ermac

Proudly debt free. If you need a couple bucks, just ask.
Was debating between the Vita and PS4 version and totally forgot about Remote Play. Def getting the PS4 version now for best of both worlds.

Are there any gameplay differences between the PS4 and Vita versions?

Not really. There are more NPCs walking around in the PS4 version, so more people may get involved in random street brawls, but I haven't really noticed that happening as much as I would've expected.

And there is Toybox Mode, which lets you start the game with one of every weapon and clothing item (at the cost of not earning trophies or being able to save clear data on completion), which certainly would impact gameplay. But I'm not sure that counts.

I am sorely disappointed there is not a Kati route in this game. She's so cute. :<

You and everyone else, I think. Kati is pretty much everybody's favorite character. I really have to wonder if there originally were going to be a Kati route, but the devs just cut that at the last minute because they knew nobody would go after any of the other characters if so. ;)

Where can I see how much stuff I have in my inventory, and is the crash issue going to get patched?

You... kinda can't. There's no meter that says your inventory is such-and-such percent full, anyway, if that's what you're asking. But I wouldn't worry too much about the crash -- you'd have to play through the game like, 2 or 3 times in a row without selling or fusing ANYTHING before it even has a chance of becoming an issue. Your inventory space in this game is massive. Best way around the issue is just to sell off all your unwanted items after beginning a third playthrough. Do that, and you'll be absolutely fine.

As for patching the game... it doesn't look like it's going to happen, unfortunately.

Is the PS4 release date on Wikipedia real? I'm not seeing it everywhere else.

We haven't announced a release date just yet, but we probably will soon, so stay tuned.

I think most Americans fall into that camp. At least, most Americans over age 30 or so. We grew up speaking Simpsons quotes. I think that's one of the U.S.'s official languages, in fact. ;)

I finally got round to finishing the game today. Pleasantly surprised at the story on the whole, it was light hearted but pretty decent. Excellent translations of the dialogue as well, quite a few laugh out loud moments.

Time to do a trophy run and try and clear the other endings/difficulties and then I'll probably grab the PS4 version since I enjoyed this game so much.

XSeed dated the PS4 version. November 25.

I've been trying to start my first side-mission, but I can't find the character I'm supposed to talk to, while pressing the Triangle button shows me where I need to go to progress the story. Am I supposed to scatter the area until I find who I need to talk to?

Yeah, your map will show you what area your side quest target is in, but that's it -- once you get to that area, you have to find the person to talk to or fight on your own.

Generally, these characters will have their names written in a red box to denote that they're quest-related, but some can be relatively hard to find nonetheless, so you may have to comb the area pretty carefully.

I can't find the third mob from "Silent Mode 2" for the life of me. I'm giving up clearing that one.

Those quests are a little odd -- there seems to be no rule against "stacking," so it's possible for some to spawn in the exact same spot as previous quest targets. So like, if you already took care of one on Junk Street, you might find another if you leave and come back to Junk Street.

Generally, whenever I had a quest where I couldn't find the last target, that was the reason: it was somewhere I'd already been.

I went to every location three times, even the ones that I already did before. I just ended up progressing with the story and missed the deadline. Also, my first fight with the four Hyper Vampires and I can't defeat even a single one of them. I have my equipments upgraded and did most of the side-missions so far, although I do know that it's because I chose the highest difficulty to start, doing it because of the trophy.

Edit: Stream test is done. Chat commands work pretty well, although police thankfully don't show up every time you call for them!

Amazon still hasn't shipped my PS4 copy, which is a little troubling since it is supposed to be here tomorrow and I was planning on actually playing it over the holiday. They still say it has guaranteed delivery for tomorrow so we'll see what happens there. Best Buy doesn't have the PS4 version listed at all still.

How are other orders looking?
