Akiba's Trip: Undead and Undressed |OT| No shoes, no shirt, all fanservice!

So guys I'm about 6 hours in the game and I don't know witch route I'm at actually

Is there gonna be a sign or like choosing the route coming to me in the future ?

Or it will be based on the relationship between the the characters , so the route will come to me after developing the relationship ?

You will automatically be put on one of the girl's routes after a certain mission. Which route depends on who you have the highest relationship with at that point.

The route switch happens in the latter half of the game.

It happens after the boss fight with
Zenya.
There's no real signs besides you'll get some personal missions with whoever you got into a route with.

It'll be based on who has the highest relationship values with you. Checking with the non-otaku twin at the base will show who's the highest with.

I just defeated
Zenya
. So if I want to go with shion route " witch everyone says it's the best route " I should choose to go to missions with her from now on ? And then shion route will be selected ?

That fight is the turning point (assuming it's your second fight with him, in the arena) -- your route is already chosen by the time you get there.

The key to picking your route lies in the decisions you make UP TO that point. Always side with Shion, and when given a choice of whom to partner with, pick Kati the first time (since picking Shizuku or Tohko will raise your affection with those characters), and pick to go alone the second.

Basically, actively avoid raising anyone else's affection toward you, and actively strive to raise Shion's, and after the aforementioned battle at the arena, you will find yourself on Shion's story route.

Well based on what you said tom , I think I'm stuck with tohko route now , what should I do ? Should I continue and then start new game + or something ? Or should I just drop this save and start over ? I heard people said that tohko route is not really that good -_-

If you go to the train station, you can leave & save the game. Your next playthrough is like a NG+, as you'll keep your inventory, clothing, etc. Only your level & story/side-mission progress will reset.

Sorry to bother you with my questions , but this game had a multiple routes , does that mean there is multiple endings ? Or its the same end with only different in the events ?

Each route has their own specific ending/scenes that focuses on the girl you spend the most time with. So yeah, you could say there's multiple endings.

None of the routes are bad, and they're fairly short, so you might as well stick with it. Do you like Tohko as a character? If so, then keep on playing -- her ending (assuming your affection with her is high enough to get her good ending) is quite satisfying, if you like her.

Hmm so I have a kinda dumb question, at the start it asks you yo pick a girl to patrol with, are you stuck with that girl for the story missions? Seems like I am.

Sometimes. Certain parts of the game will have you choose between 3 options which results in which girl you wanna go with for that mission & maybe the one afterwards.

Okay I Finnally bought this. Really apprehensive about it because the last Gaf hype game I bought was Daganronpa and i didn't like that game.

Any tips for Akibas?

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Man this is a weird yet awesome game .. all these Japanese advertisements in the load screens .. so awesome. The game's also chock full of references and game drops, like the pops character quoting Barret's "There ain't no getting offa this train we're on" line and such. It's like a JRPG gamer's easter egg heaven.

Just based on the weird advertisements alone I feel like i'm learning so much about the actual Akihabra and Japan, cause I'm googling and visiting all the website addresses that are coming up.

Also, fuck Rin.

Maybe I'm just nitpicking here, but for a game based mostly on its fanservice, the graphics don't seem... uh... "advanced" enough? Like, say, Dead or Alive 5 has a whole fanservice element to it, even though it's an excellent fighting game on its own, but they poured an insane amount of time making the characters detailed and sexy.

That's sort of what I've been trying to tell people. ;) Akiba's Trip isn't really about the fanservice, it's about the humor. It's meant to parody all aspects of Akiba culture, including the overuse of gratuitous fanservice with flimsy explanations. In other words, it's not really meant to be sexy, but funny.

Thank god, cause DoA's fanservice is just creepy as hell to me. Will be placing a pre-order for this game tonight thanks to the amazing level of involvement you've shown in this thread Tom (although you pretty much already had me with the option for Japanese audio)

I just asked "antoinette" for a fight and she told me to "go back to high school ".

THat's mean , Guys !!

I was just trying to rack the trophies in new game plus ...

Is gamer difficulty enough or should i do it in otaku difficulty ?

Zonic

If you wish to fight Antoinette, Gamer should be fine, though I could've sworn I did it on Normal. You just can't fight on Easy. Also remember she has unique clothing, though her underwear isn't anything special (not like you can get it in the first place since it's 1v1).

TnA is creepy? Is sports illustrated's swimsuit issue also creepy to you?

I mean at the end of the day that's all it is. You're not seeing girls get fucked and cummed on. It's girls in skimpy outfits with bouncing boobs. No worse then a video of a Kate Upton photoshoot.

Gonna grind out the rest of my trophies I need. If I beat the game on Otaku do I get both difficulty trophies?

No. I beat it on otaku mode before gamer thinking it would give me both but it only gave me the otaku one. Had to replay on gamer to get that one.

Just finished Shion's route.
Are there multiple endings for each route or is it just one ending for per girl?
This game is not really that short.

Xseed (based) are localization, Acquire are the developers.

I would love another Akiba's Trip.
If they do decide to make a sequel, I hope they can make the whole of city structure unified rather than chopping it up into multiple areas.
Maybe that is a hardware or budget limitation.

There's a good and a bad ending per girl, but the bad ending is basically just a short version of the good ending where the two of you DON'T end up together.

So if you had your romantic finale with Shion, then you got the good ending and don't need to bother with anything else for her -- the bad ending is not worth seeking out.

Just beat antoinette .

Damn S rank in arena just before that IS Painfull on gamer difficulty.

The ennemy counter strip , gangbang you on all sides, if you're not aware of your position it's stripping time in less than 3 secs thanks to their counters.

PAINFULL

But i beat antoinette ! and i'm happy now...

"you can keep the clothes"

YOU BET I WILL !!

Now for the remaining routes, how should i dress everyone ?

Not really interested in taking the thread this route, but there are rather substantial differences between DoA and the examples you gave. I'll leave it up to you to figure out what they might be.

More DLC is up.

- Di Gi Charat Set (PS3) (Vita)
- Prinny (PS3) (Vita)
- Okayama Denim Shirt (PS3) (Vita)

Looks like all we have left are the Ragnarok Odyssey ACE set, M's Clothing, Mega Tokyo Toybox clothing, White School Swimwear, Nana's Sleepwear, & Tiger-Striped Swimwear. So I'm guessing 2 more weeks.

Been playing sporadically the past few days. I dunno what people are complaint regarding the graphics. I think they look great, there's a neat anime background painted effect in the game world, which works great with the subtle cell shading. Controls can be a bit wonky, even during fights, but I'm adapting. Digging the characters and story...surprisingly. It is a parody, but it's very smart about it. The world could use more Npcs for sure, and some areas feel a bit sparse. I think this is a great game engine, which plays and looks great on the Vita. Acquire should lease this engine out.

But there aren't any differences beyond the fact that Dead or Alive is a fighting game. There's really no difference between watching a Kate Upton swimsuit video and playing DoA when it comes to the sex appeal. The closest you get to actual nudity is swimsuits in both and both are made to be pleasurable eye candy for men. Both exploit women as well for thier sex appeal. Both are male fantasy stimulates.

So whats creepy about it? Have you actually played a Dead or Alive fighting game? They are surprisingly tame compared to whats out there now. Jiggly big boobs and revealing outfits, but that's about it. Yet they fill the role that tna does for anything. Do you simply find it creepy to ogle tna? I don't see anything creepy about that especially when its there for that.

I'm assuming he's saying it's creepy either because there's violence involved, or because it's interactive. But if either of those is the case, then I'm pretty sure Akiba's Trip will be just as creepy for him. Parody or no, there's still violence involved, and it's still interactive (even more so than in DoA!).

Personally, I'm of the opinion that games featuring TnA are in many ways quite a bit LESS creepy than your example of a Kate Upton swimsuit video, though, if only because the women featured in video games aren't real. They're 3D models. So no harm is being done to anyone whatsoever through depictions of TnA in video games, whereas harm is potentially being done through live-action video depictions or photo shoots -- Kate Upton, a real person, is being actively objectified.

It's just a different way of looking at things, though, in the end.

Interestingly enough I think it also comes down to a sort of slightly hypocritical bias depending on the person. For example, before being corrected, I had assumed this was nothing but a bouncy touch screen tits McGee. But what bothered me of course was the female fanservice...

I was then made aware there was also some male fanservice in the game...and this was a pleasant surprise.

Whilst I cannot say that it added to anything substantial enough to push me FOR the game, it was a nice bonus.

Ya the tiny broken up city is making it less charming to me >.< Just dun feel like I'm getting to know it yet. Plus there are shops everywhere but its hard to remember what sells what and where they all are!

I'm still pathetically not very far in the game because reasons! But today I got past a Zenya battle ya can't win because story. Even with the "training" mission right afterwards I don't feel like I'm getting any stronger or better with the battle system! An I still haven't found a weapon that feels quite right for me aside from plain ol' fists! Oh yeahs wasn't there supposed ta be like a dozen or so boss battles in this game and I haven't even done one yet? I'm sooooo behind. I do like how the arena works where the next fighters come right out and continue the battle! Can't think of any other game where arena fights aren't halted like that!

Ah, that's right. For some reason, I thought it was out.

So it sounds like the Tiger-Striped Swimwear & Tokyo Toybox set are next week, then the 30th will be the final day with Ragnarok Odyssey ACE & Nana's Sleepware.

Finally plat the game and now doing a final run to finish up the Encyclopedia.

Does anyone know how to get the debt collector to show up? Stores won't let me spend negative money...

I also have a clothing entry missing that comes right before the Pink and Blue Maid sets. What is that?

Why not wait for the English PS4 version, since it's dual voice and dual text? You can literally play the whole thing 100% in Japanese and duplicate the experience of playing the import version if you want, but the English text and voices are there if you need them.

If you just can't wait that long, though, I think you'll probably be OK with your current Japanese level. You might miss a few things here and there, particularly on side missions (since that text auto-advances), but you should at least be able to follow enough of the game to enjoy it.

After doing sizuku and tohka route i went to do shion's

Damn i wasn't expecting this turn of events.

I like how the game recylce some fights across each route but with different "goons" each with special clothes.
Much intresting.

I guess now i must do this game once doing rin route + imouto and the Otaku difficulty
