Alan Wake PC recoups costs in 2 days

Next time it would be awesome if you actually followed through on your promise of the game being a PC-centric title. Who knows what this game would have been like if it was developed around the PC environment and not the 360.

I also hated MS meddling with the console vs PC exclusivity wars. Yet I believe the devs said they couldnt just keep the same kind of atmosphere in the game whilst having an open world.

I'm still bitter Remedy gave up on Max Payne to make an inferior franchise, but it's great to see they're doing well.

I love max payne too, the second one I consider as one of my top 5 games of all time. I am happy that the devs tried something new instead of giving us payne 4 now. We would have had franchise fatigue at some point.

Nitro Games "assisted" with the port, doing what Remedy referred to as the "heavy lifting". The latter likely had some sort of auxiliary team supervising/assisting Nitro with the job.

Given Nitro Games employs "around 20 people", assuming that means closer to 30 than 20, I'd say that the port was a 35~40-man job all up.

Going off of the alan wake credits, the "PC credits" consisted of about 20 people (mixed remedy and nitro) give or take.

here's the entire credits for the PC port of the game (after running through these the game then runs through the 360 credits)

The story ended for Max Payne, Sam Lake was done. He made his message. There's even the finality to Max Payne in Alan Wake in the form of a "Sudden Stop" manuscript.

Remedy is done with the character. Plus they sold the rights to Rockstar, I think.

Honestly I don't see how Remedy would improve upon MP1/MP2. Rockstar doing their own version of MP3 and Remedy doing Alan Wake 1/2 seems like a good idea. I hope Remedy can eventually do something new instead of Alan Wake 3 as well.
