All PS+ users are getting a potential GOTY candidate next week...

I'm a legend at.SARPBC if I don't mind saying so myself, played for an hour a day for 5 years, after 1 year I learned correct positioning after 2 years I copped on there was mini boost pads which filled up my bar after 3 years I started attempting to fly by 4 years I.scored my first flying cracker and by 5 years I am LEGEND
This game is balls deep in skill you.never stop learning

I read threads like this about this game and go 'Oh wow!', then watch videos and I'm like 'You're kidding, right?'

Guess I'll have to play it. If it sucks I'm writing this whole thread off as newfangled indie astroturfing, lol

There's a bit of a learning curve. You're going to suck at first (most likely) and you'll try and ram into the ball as fast as you can at all times. But once you realize it's better to not to that and to hang back and predict where the ball is going to be, it gets a whole lot better. I hope the servers can handle all the free PS Plus players.

Button to make your car roll? Yes. (Square + Left Stick by default)

Fake an injury? No. THERE'S NO STOPPING THIS GAME (Unless you score. Then you get to watch a glorious replay :D)

Wait, you can roll without jumping by using square? Goddamn, didn't know that.

Yeah but the devs wanted to stop us first! I say it was only fair... xD

It absolutely was fair!

Hmm, I'm just not seeing the appeal. But, then again, I never was a huge fan of Metroid Prime.

Have you played it yet? I strongly believe you cannot pass judgement on this based on videos alone. I didn't care whatsoever about this game until I actually gave it a chance and played it.

Oh man I loved that game. Me and my bro spent a lot of time on that football mode and the one with the sliding doors.

Glad to know someone else actually played it!

Yes me and my mate would play the football mini game and the sliding doors. The rest were hot garbage but those two were super fun.

Pretty excited for this game tbf as I now live 300 miles away from my best buddy so we can play this instead :)

Wait, you can roll without jumping by using square? Goddamn, didn't know that.

Yeah you can. It's useful to correct your car mid air out of a bad landing. To shoot the ball, it's still way better to do flips (as in pressing X twice in a row) so you can actually get some momentum into the ball :)

I can't wait for the thread where we have people unhappy that mashing and playing poorly isn't enough. The learning curve will turn people off unless you are playing with friends where you can in turn just laugh at each other.

They would have to actually play it...

Yeah the people shouting about garbage indies never eat crow. They just assume everything is shit without trying it. The people excited about Rocket League will play it. The people unsure will possibly play it. The people shouting about how terrible PS Plus and indies are will not play it not matter what you say or show them.

The beta was so much fun. So much fun.

Playing both defense and offense is satisfying.

God, that guy must have the biggest penis ever.

I hope Forsakenkidx and BshadowJ were able to walk ok after this.

Is there any kind of single player? Like offline with bots at least?

Yes, every mode, whether online or offline can be played with bots, even in unfair configurations. There's also a offline-only season mode, similar to season modes in other sports games. That can be played either single player or split screen.

Fantastic! Thanks for the info.

This looks amazing. Good to know that I'll have another great free game waiting for me when I eventually get a PS4.

What is this game... perfect??

:D

I'm not expecting it, but does it have local splitscreen/online play? Like, can I play this with my brother on the same PS4, against other people online?

I recently bought a PS4, but haven't played anything on it yet other than P.T. (the previous owner had downloaded it). I bought Bloodborne, and was planning on starting it soon, so I was planning on getting PS+ soon. Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes is currently available, but none of the other games this month interest me.

I then saw a list of the PS+ games available in July, and none of them interested me either.

Then I saw this thread.

Holy shit; this looks amazing. I'll definitely be grabbing it as soon as it goes up.

YOU SURE CAN.

It's drop in drop out even, so if you're playing and your team has a bot on it, your friend can pick up a pad and play.

This must be a game you have to play to understand because I can't see what all the fuss is about but I'm interested in trying it next week.

I would be surprised if this game retains a solid playerbase a month from now, much less wins GOTY from any reputable gaming website.

It's way too hard to do even basic techniques reliably, such as shooting at the goal or passing to another player. The floaty physics and enormous playing field work against the game in this regard.

I predict that most people will get frustrated and move on.

I sank more hours into the BETA than I have any other game this year. It's so damn addicting. There are so many advanced techniques that you can master but it's still easy enough to get by without being the dude flying all over the arena. I probably put in 10 hours before I realized flying was an option.
