Someone link me to the best high level play videos. I want to see what this game looks like when organised teams do things on purpose.

I haven't seen great team play but these are the two best players in the game 1v1. The way these guys manipulate their cars for shots and saves is awesome to watch. How they set up their shots etc. When we get to see a 3 v 3 with players of this caliber this game is going to be great to watch.

Part one

Part 2

How can people be excited for this and pissed at Metroid Blast Ball at the same time?

Because they're different things...?

If they honestly didn't attach the name "metroid" to blast ball, I'm sure you'd see many of the people that were very negative on the game either like it or just plain not make a big deal about the game. The fact that nintendo is basically going "well people wanted a metroid game, we gave it to them" doesn't help the matter.

Now what would be something similar is that if Sony, at the press conference, announced that they're releasing Wipeout:Rocket League or a little more fittingly Motorstorm:Rocket League you'd have pissed off reactions too from fans of those series.

Edit:
Gran Turismo Rocket League would have made heads explode.
Yeah this would have the biggest reaction.

I want both, but blast ball looks like a much more methodical pace and doesn't do shit with physics. Judging by playing this and seeing Blast Ball at the NWC feels like comparing basketball and football because they both involve balls.

The gameplay is maybe not the same but the concept is: taking a genre (like racing or fps) and making a sport game out of it.

I found that "twist" in gaming to be very interesting.

Fair enough. Again, it was a honest question. Didn't want to pissed anyone.

This looks pretty fun and I see that it has split-screen support for up to 4 players.

Feels like a perfect game to play with my little (10 and 6 years old) brothers.

This looks..... amazing!

I want it!

Edit> Coop split screen YES!

Just wanted to do a minor correction and say that neither player in those videos is a Psyonix Dev. They're "just" the #1 (Kronovi) and #2 (Gibbs) players at the end of the beta.

On the topic of high level play though, this video should demonstrate some pretty high level play. It features a number of high ranked players in a Reddit Tournament that happened during the second Beta, and these games were dubbed some of the best, especially from the second game on. (This was a Best of 3). I'm sure there will be even higher level play as teams play, practice and improve, but I think this is a very good match to watch.

I didn't post this to insult anybody. It was a honest question. Sorry if I offended some people.

I don't think many people got offended, so you don't really have to apologize (although it's nice that you do). It's just that you are wasting time thinking about a question that may not even be justified. If no people holding both of these opinions exist, then thinking about why these non-existent people hold these opinions would be a waste of time. Also, the question comes off as a bit hostile, so there is a high risk it doesn't really generate fruitful discussions, which would be counter-productive if you're genuinely curious.

A better way to have formulated the question would have been something like: "how come Federation Force generates so much hostility, while this game instead seems to have generated a fair bit of excitement? Please explain, because they look quite similar to me."

There isn't really a lot of videos showing off great team work. This video might have some. If you want to see some very high level play, with some team goals, it doesn't get better than this one. Some of the top players also have preview copies and are streaming on Twitch every day, if you want to watch some great play.

Since others are posting their highlights I figure I can share my awesomeness as well

Thanks. Fixed.

Great vids. I'm on the first one and it's interesting to see his style of defense. Stays back and grabs all the boosts mostly.

You're right. The wait you formulated my question is way better and is closer to what I wanted to say. Thanks. :)

When I first saw the line up for this month I was like : meh ...
Then I saw gameplay of Rocket League and BOOM! I'm hyped for this game now : )

Seems a lot of fun and great to play with a great community (GAF) . Count me in!

If you click on any random page, you might find one. Maybe two. But you probably won't. Instead, you'll probably find 50 or 100 people having a god damn blast. Because the

To be fair that's the majority of official topics for games and their betas, circle jerk heavens and people pile on those who don't subscribe to their little rainbow and unicorn parades.

That said, you are probably right about this one, because the first game was an unsung classic.

Holy shit at the ending in that first video. Literally a millisecond away from a last gasp equaliser. Goddamn this game.

From what I understand America is allergic to proper football so I can see nobody liking this or giving it a chance or hating on it because the ball is round and not egg shaped and you don't carry it around and stop every 10 seconds.

Good thing we're allergic.. otherwise we would dominate the sport and we would hear from everyone how curling is a "real" sport.

Please tell me you aren't serious. You're not doing your country any favours here.

But to be fair neither was the guy you were quoting.

Not really serious. It's all good.
I was just having a little fun but after re-reading my post, it does come as a little douchey. Apologies.

The game looks like fun and I can't wait to grab it on Tuesday. I am personally terrible at driving games so it being a PSPlus game is great. I would've never bought it otherwise.

So many naysayers who havent played the game yet

:P

Y'all are in for a treat man. Game rivals NBA Street Vol in terms of sports fun. We dont get games like that anymore
