Almost 1 week away from the new KH3 trailer. What are you expecting?

Lots and lots of digital distortion transitions in queue with melodramatic narration.

No need to be so ignorant. We already know that, per Nomura's words, the D23 trailer will be meatier than the E3 trailer and they'll show 1 completely new world (at least for KHIII, not sure if they've said it's a new IP altogether for the whole KH franchise), with something pretty hype-worthy shown in the trailer if Famitsu is to be believed.
Right, it's like square has a history of disappointing... How wrong could I be.

I'm expecting people to get mad when it turns out all the games they call "spinoffs" continue to matter in the plot.

If the trailer is on par with last month's trailer I'll be satisfied.

Look at all the trailer comments of people surprised that Ansem and Xemnas are back. Going to be a fun time.

a fuzzy/distorted video showing cutscenes from all the games only to end with

DEVELOPMENT AT 98 PERCENT.

Honestly, I don't think holiday 2017 is completely out of the question. Square-Enix seem like they're playing it safe with revealing info on Nomura-directed games after Versus XIII.

This is why I got off the train. I remember going from KH1 to KH2 without playing CoM and it SUCKED. Tried to keep up with the games, but just couldn't get back into it.

"This is Organization XIII, half are already dead, Remember?"

So what should we expect.

- Will the trailer have a bigger length that what has been posted?
Maybe, but not by all that much; presumably they've got a lot to show besides KH3, so I don't expect it taking up too much more time than the E3 trailer already did.

- Will it be focused on story?
No more than past trailers have been. Cryptic trailers strike me as a Square Enix pasttime.

- What new world will be reveal?
I'm expecting Frozen. I'm hoping for Zootopia. I'm open to being surprised.

Really, there's a lot of cool Disney franchises that haven't been touched yet (somebody posting in this thread reminded me that Atlantis and Treasure Planet were things, and I'd be down for either - more the former than the latter, but hell, I can dig the latter too), so it's likely that I won't be terribly disappointed either way. (Unless it's Frozen, if only because that wouldn't really be much of a surprise for me.)

- Should we expect any other unknown returning worlds being reveal?
Certainly not as the big reveal, no. Maybe you'll catch a glimpse of something in a cutaway for plot purposes, sort of like how Twilight Town was clearly present in the E3 trailer, but they're not likely going to make a big deal out of it.

- Are we going to have a release window (or date) for the game?
I highly doubt it.

Big Hero 69.

Didn't Yosuke Matsuda say literally two months ago that he expects KH 3 to be done "in the next three years or so?"

2018 feels like wishful thinking based on that statement.

No. Square Enix said that these 3 games: Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy VII Remake, and the Untitled Marvel game should all be released within 3 years or so. Not that they are going to be released in 3 years. Marvel game should be the furthest off. The amount of misunderstanding that that one slide has caused is crazy

I think KH3 will absolutely be out in 2018. But there is zero chance of holiday 2017.

KH2 Final Mix is my favorite game ever and I have zero excitement for 3..... just...ehhhhhhhhhhh....aesthetics look way way off to me. That phong shading just looks bad on toon characters...just.....why....

Yeah 2018 is a safe bet. Previous trailer was pretty polished and we're getting TWO trailers within a month. Stuff's coming together.

Yep. I just think Square has (partially) learned a lesson and is trying to do things differently.

For example, I think old Square would have announced FFXVI by now but they're waiting until it's further along.

Trailer will focus on three mobile tie in games of which only one will make it out of Japan. Rehash of existing footage, no mention of anything resembling a release date.

You have GOT to be kidding

All we've been through with this damn game and you hit us with this tomfoolery

Yeah it just doesn't make sense to me for them to start showing the game more often now if it was still really far out. We somehow went from a trailer every 2 years to 2 in 1 month.

As for their early announcements I'd like to hope so. I wouldn't be broken up if FF7R is the last game they announce as soon as the project is greenlit.

2. How to focus the gameplay in a way that doesn't make the battle system seem overwhelming. Right now, the game almost looks like it has too many combat options - Flow motion, amusement park summons, shotlocks, transforming Keyblades, team attacks, possibility of Drive forms returning.... It all seems a bit bloated.

I'm a bit afraid that the game is just going to be more mashy version of KH2.

The finishers seem crazy, the summons seem crazy, you seem to constantly lose control of Sora when you use any kind of special attack....i dunno man.

Could just be the editing in the gameplay, who knows

You're reaching for the stars over there my friend. I'd love for that to be true but there's just no way KH3 is coming holiday 2017.

2017 is not happening, but I think a 2018 release is entirely doable. Definitely expecting a release window announcement.

Something about SE turns people into Chicken Little. People still think FFVII will be a telltale game.

I think the Disney characters look pretty good

True, that part did look great, so the hope is there. Just felt like looking to the KH CG was not the right way to go with the artstyle.

Like this doesnt look great...no idea why they drop the toon shading for the main cast

I'm pretty sure the shading on the main characters is world by world.
