Amazon Cancelling Master Edition's of Zelda: BotW Orders

Wasn't there extreme fuckery with online orders of the then-exclusive Greninja amiibo? IIRC like every order got cancelled and the whole thing was a horrible mess. And then they sold 4,000 on eBay.

You have a better shot when pre-ordering in the store but even then it's not 100%. I have a friend who works at Toys-R-Us and they usually get enough for those who pre-ordered in person but they've had a few times where employees either sold the pre-order copies or they just didn't receive enough.

Were they all on the same account though, and cancelled as part of the duplicate order purge?

The first one. It was 3AM, and had to grab for

-Me
-Brother
-Friend

So, I didn't have time to call around and wake people up. I was trying do a solid (actually had the flu at the time if you'd believe it)

Still, this is the second Zelda launch Nintendo's fucked up in less than two years, and the stories of joycon orders being cancelled scares me, considering I work in retail...

got the "due to high demand, we canceled your 2nd order" email earlier...which is weird, i really meant to grab a 2nd for a good friend but soon as id finished my order, remembered & tried again, it was sold out.

looks like my order's still good (for now...) and amazon's psychic pre-ordering system is on point

Yeah I got one of mine canceled. What a shitty response. "due to high demand"? Okay, figure this shit out weeks ago. Not a fucking week before launch.

This is soooooo shitty for people who legitimately wanted this and won't get one mostly because of scalpers who buy up an entire allotment in a hour.

I got the extra quantity cancellation email but I only ordered one. Tf is this Amazon? My order still seems to be valid on the website tho.

Do you guys think the ME, or SE might show up at retail stores?

Makes me want it even more now that I can't have it. :(
As I said before, my BB Is getting 3 Master Editions and only two are preordered. Don't expect to get one at your store unless you are first on line and with some luck that your local store is getting extra.

Keep in mind that only Best Buy and GameStop are selling the Master Edition.

This gives me some hope here...

My order of the standard edition (placed on Jan. 15th) was showing a delivery day of March 3rd, but just to changed to unavailable delivery date. Hopefully this doesn't mean there are going to be issues with the standard edition too.

It might be finally over guys!

"This was a limited-edition product for which we had an allocation of 2,900 units. We reduced all initial orders(that were larger than 1) to a quantity limit of one and reached out the vendor for additional stock, however none is available. As a result, we have pulled the customers in order of order-placement and have to cancel the 1,235 oversell."

From a thread on another site that I don't know if we are allowed to mention? (you can probably guess the other place where people have been talking about this issue)

So wait, Amazon oversold?

I know that sounds reasonable but it's simply not true.

I placed my order before people who I talk to who got to keep theirs. Mine was cancelled, theirs was not. And I only ordered one.

how do I know the exact timeline? Because I linked it to them after I ordered mine.

This would mean that Amazon only got about 2000 copies in. Surely less than 2000 people clicked the button immediately. Still, we still aren't in priority.

Amazon with that, what's it called, heel turn? :/

Why is it so hard to buy a product from Nintendo? I mean, seriously, we've seen that they love money, so why don't they make it easier for their consumers to buy their products?

I don't think it's Amazon's fault here. Just some Nintendo BS again...

way oversold. they originally allowed a limit of 3 per customer. reduced that amount to one. still didn't have enough and now just canceling them.

Theyd did allow for up to 3?! I one-clicked and never went back to even check.

I don't think this went by via Priority at all.. It seems they maybe took everyone that ordered in the first 5 min and plucked some out at random till they had their desired total.

Due to this, they owe me a copy. Only bots would be able to order 3 without a one-click and get in above priority :/

Nintendo continues to believe that creating demand pays more to them than selling more of said limited edition. Maybe they're right, I don't know. All I know is that this problem continues to persist and it's always the same excuse - "we didn't expect the demand to be so high", etc.

I may have missed this conversation last night, but I got an email cancelling my Neon Red Joycon pair preorder:

Nintendo Switch - Joy-Con (L/R)-Neon Red

We're unable to fulfill your order for the item(s) listed above because they aren't available from the supplier any longer. As a result, we've cancelled them from your order and your original payment method won't be charged.

What the hell is going on?

They've canceled some
BOTW ME
Blue Joy-cons
Red Joy-cons
Red Straps
Blue Straps

Hope that's all. Would be a shame if they start cancelling Pro controllers, and switch systems. :(

But, I thought this was Nintendo's fault! /s

No, this is all on Amazon. They took more orders than they were supposed to. Best Buy and Gamestop didn't cancel anyone. Only Amazon. The fault is all on Amazon here.

So are they saying they oversold to people buying multiples, and then randomly selected who to fuck over and send a delicious 10 dollar gift card to?

Amazon and others need to just apply common sense to this shit. If its a Limited Edition Limit 1 always. order as many as you like of anything standard but collectibles etc. should always be limited to 1.

Yeah. That's just sad, because it doesn't benefit anyone in this case. It's "Limited" in fact but just for the sake of being limited. And then some people will resell it at much higher prices.

Maybe, but in the end it's Nintendo and their choice for not caring enough about the demand from the players.

With how my store is... We have more pro controllers than all the other accessories combined.

They better be sending us the extra copies to all the priorities that got cancelled then...

Seems like they were cancelling first to try and get within allotment then with the outcry decided to purge multi orders. I doubt there are any extra units
