I hate JRPGs, however, my "hate" comes from playing FFVII for a little bit and... that's it. That's the last JRPG I ever played. I've seen videos of recent ones, but those are the basis on which I'm judging JRPGs, but I want to jump into the JRPG bandwagon since there are more of those types of RPGs coming out compared to the ones I like (western, real-time RPGs like Mass Effect, Fable, Oblivion, Fallout, etc.).

Now, to the point, lol, if Lost Odyssey is on sale on Amazon for BF, should I jump in? Should that be the game I play to come back into the JRPG space? I really want to be into JRPGs so I can have more options to choose from down the line and because I want to get FFXIII.

I'd say try Tales of Vesperia instead. A lot of people seem to love it and Loast Odyssey is a love it or hate it kind of game.
I really couldn't get into it myself.

Good thing amazon isn't the only website out there then. Folklore is 20 bucks new.HS is 28 new. Genji is 10 new. All on half.com, I always use half.com for older games and have never had a problem with price or people.

Actually, once I saw the deal...I went and ordered it so I have a white PSPGo coming on Thursday. I also ordered an 16gb M2 to go with it as well.

Lost Odyssey plays like pretty much every PS1 era JRPG that ripped off FF7/FF8. If you didn't like those games you won't get too much into LO.
