AMAZON US Switch up

I'm still really frustrated that Amazon put up their Master Edition preorders at like 2 in the morning and they haven't had more.

Can we stop bumping this thread? Every time I see it I think "YESSSS!!..... oh....ugh..."

People keep saying this, but at this point, this thread is basically a convenient hub for everyone to discuss what's going with Switch-related stuff at Amazon, and occasionally other places, instead of just literally only being there to inform others when the Switch itself gets back in stock.

You could always make a new thread (Seems more productive than people making new threads for each of the various stuff being talked about in here) that specifically informs others when the Switch is available again and nothing else, but for now, I don't really see what the big deal is. It's not even the most efficient way to learn when it's back in stock.

That's just me though.

Looks like Walmart changed their page to say just go in store and pre-order. Has anyone looked into this? Are you guaranteed a day one console by doing this? Do they have a set number of pre-orders for each store?

I'm in the market for a case by i can't decide yet. This one you posted for example wouldn't have space for the straps right? Id prefer a case that could have room for the switch and the 2 joycon with their straps on.

It'll likely fit the straps in the pouch inside the case since it's designed to carry the game & SD card cases included with it, but not actually attached to the Joy-Cons. I don't think any case will offer that utility simply due to ergonomics.

It's been mentioned already many times, but there's better tools online for receiving notification of stock. This thread has long since been a general discussion of Amazon Switch products and alternatives offered by other stores not available on Amazon.

It still sucks that gaf doesn't allow console mega threads anymore, because I have no idea where else to ask this question, so I thought I'd try this thread.

Does anyone know if GameStop allows you to apply a gift card to your existing preorders? Even if I have to call them? It's not as if the Nintendo Switch can be canceled, and reordered, but I'd like to put a gift card balance towards it.

I actually stopped at my Walmart today for this reason. They had a little stand in the electronics section explaining the preorder process(put 10% down, pay it off, etc). I asked the electronics person if I would be guaranteed a Switch on launch day, and she told me it would be not long after launch.

March is going to be a bloodbath.

It's come up a few times whether the official case holds any games. I just happened across one of the accessory leak images from before, and it says it holds 4 game cartridges.

I'm pretty sure this the licensed case by Hori and not the official case from Nintendo. Also, I'm
Not sure if Nintendo's case has room for cartridges. But I do know that the case included with the Special/Master edition of Zelda: BotW does hold cartridges.

If they never play it, why have it? I've done that and have no regrets. In fact, now it's a good time to trade/sell since you'll be getting a decent price out of it. The value will drop once the Switch comes. It always does.

As I said, you never know when the compulsion to play an old game will hit you. It's happened to me before. Hell, it's happening to me right now as I want to play Nier on the 360. (I didn't trade it in, but it broke down.) And when it does hit you, the last thing you want to do is purchase a console/handheld you had already owned before. At least, that's my train of thought.

But to each their own of course, it's his stuff.

Amazon Spain has it and it's 10 euro cheaper than France :P

Nope, won't do it. I couldn't believe I got a Neon console and I'm scared to do anything to mess up the order.

Speaking of which, this preorder business is stressful as hell. I'm at the point where it's not even about the Switch anymore, I just want it work.

Yep, that's Hori's pouch from some leaked documents containing Hori products:

Anyone know if the charging grip comes with a charging cable? Or do they really want you to pay an additional $30 for their charger, too?

hmmm

I think 4 cartridges are enough. Total of 5 games. I don't think I'd ever need to take more than 5 with me wherever I go. Current game I'm playing, something like Mario Kart, Super Smash, and possibly two other Switch exclusives I might want to play.

I ordered a carrying case and tempered glass but I need that Hori Snap & Go ASAP. I remember having one of those for my PSP and it really is the option for protecting the screen and body.

Anyone know if I change my shipping address, will it screw up my pre order?

I wouldn't risk it, I cancelled an item yesterday in an order that includes the Joy-Con Charging Grip and it got bumped down to delivery date pending :(

seems any change gets you bumped

Any word on red/blue preorders coming up?

I wouldn't count on them being stocked unless there's a region wide restock. It seems the Switch is just sold out period as of the moment.

Walmart has that layaway program of theirs, but it's not exactly concrete nor known to be reliable considering the NES Classic situation.

Hope stock returns for you all. I feel so lucky to have mine ready.

I would call. I think they can help with you with that. Shouldn't be difficult. Maybe in the store they could help.

I mean, Amazon is either saving their stock or they never had a single Neon system in the first place, which sounds odd to me when we had 3 continuous hours or something like that of the grey one being available within the first 2 days after the conference. IMO they're saving them for closer to release.

Damn an alternative to the the Pro controller for like half the price? Is that right? Jesus I don't care how good the pro controller is, as long as that's halfway decent it's a steal.

Amazon never getting the Neon systems isn't exactly too far-fetched when it seems the Neon systems were lower stocked than the Grey systems across the board. I mean, it's possible Amazon opens them up closer to release, but I don't think it will be because they've just been sitting on them this whole time.
