O_O High HBM bandwidth AND 8GB memory!? Is that scan fake!? I thought HBM was impossible to use 8GB with first run!?

There is a rumor that they delayed the release to add HBM 2. It might also be a later release than the 4GB version.

I'm going to be building my first gaming PC sometime in the next six months and was dead set purchasing a 290x for my GPU but then I found this thread. Any idea how the 290x will compare to the rumored specs of the 390 and 390x?

What would you guys do in my position? I really feel I should wait to take advantage of the new HBM technology.

EDIT: In case you're wondering, my budget for my entire rig is $1,300.
