At least do the Big Brother thing if you're going to clip things so severely like this. Post the full performances on YouTube or whatever, and basically treat the broadcast as a condensed summary.

Otherwise, the show's basically useless until Top 12. I don't feel like we've gotten enough time to hear and get to know the contestants yet.

My ideal would be post everyone from Hollywood's audition, start at Hollywood.

Man. If Vote for the Worst were still up, they could probably make their weekly pick by just drawing a name out of a hat

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! My boy Reno didn't make it :(

-Awful
-Rachel was shaky but a lot better than anything else so far. I bet she makes it.

Sad about Reno. He had some creative moments with his voice.

And eaux, thés manufactured drama.

Just let Maddie go, judges. She looks like a 38-year-old former porn star shrunken down into the awkward proportions of a balloon headed pre-pubescent. She shouldn't let her stage mom doll her up this garishly.

It's a sing-off, bitch.

Literally a minute ago: "We're having trouble choosing because you're both so similar."

Now: "Their tone is apples and oranges. One is clear, the other is raspy."

Uh-huh.

Let's be real, they're both C-grade imitations of Janelle Monae.

I'd give Tyanna a B, but of course neither could touch the top female singer/performer in the game right now.

Majesty is the reason why I don't think instruments should be allowed until top 6. Weak singers hiding behind guitars.

It'st the jlo reaction show. the other judges doesn't exist. even if they do they would cut her in or pan to all 3 and let her speak. even if it's the contestant leaving the stage they would make sure she's in the scene.

Thank god I never have to see her horrid lipstick again.

Watchin this mess now....

-Whoa. Hollywood was beyond awful. (I predicted that since the judges were all sporting 50-inch smiles, that was the beginning of their fake out. And of course, they cut Hollywood)
-As soon as Jennifer said "apples and oranges", I just fucking KNEW that Harry was going to come up with some stupid ass fruit joke. And of course, he called the girl a kiwi. -___-
-Wow. Katherine is fucking good! *pause* I'm gonna just take a wild stab in the dark that the judges talk about how hard it is to cut people (or other ominous-like BS) *play* Meh...50/50 :)
-Maddy: off-key like a muddafugga
-Never seen Quintin before tonight. He's extremely mediocre. Can't believe he made it. He's definitely fodder.
-If Savion doesn't make it I'm gonna lol

I hope they say no now. lol. wtf is he wearing. I can't tell if he's cold or wants to read me his screenplay

-I wonder if Savion and Trevor fight over who's glasses are bigger. Jesus tapdancing
-God damn, Nick looks so much like his dad! lol. I was kinda surprised he made it though, though. Like Quintin, he's super mediocre

An impressive mix of contemporary Hot 100 hits (good job Rayvon!) and old, cobweb-riddled, overdone in AI's history garbage.

bye bye Clark :-(

Song choice is everything.

Rayvon and Adanna made some absolutely horrible song choices. Not every catchy song on the radio will sound good when performed live. Hopefully they won't be as bad what I'm imagining.

This show feels like it's on crack. If this were actually live, they'd probably be on skates. So much rushing going on. Anyway..basically a repeat of the first singers:

Savion: 6.0
Mark: 6.2

I can't be bothered to devote words to this mediocrity.

On the West Coast, so this won't be on for a few hours. Let me say though that the House of Blues performances were awful. 48 performances and they couldn't find more than 2-3 good ones? That's bad. Best case scenario is that this group is like last year, some good artists that couldn't all bring it to the big stage.

And that was pretty rough, but at least a few of them delivered while some of the others were at least talented. This group, from what we've seen, seems to be lacking much vocal talent at all. It seems like the scrapheap of artists that weren't good enough to audition for The Voice. Even the good ones don't have much vocal range. Notice how many of these singers sound whiny and unappealing when they try to hit their upper range? The only one with decent power and tone in their upper range is Jax, who would have been at most a Top 10 finisher in Idol's glory years. I really like Trevor, Simeon, Clark, and Qasim, but they sound more like niche artists and not "singer's singers". That's cool as a change of pace, more stylized artists, but the show gets boring without a good group of belters too.

As a point of comparison, I've been rewatching the Season 4 Finals on YouTube and, my God, what a difference. Pretty much all of them had good vocal range and power. Carrie, Vonzell, Nadia, Anwar, and Bo nailed high notes effortlessly and had memorable sounds and visual styles. Constantine, Jessica, and Linsdey had good vocal ability too and their own respective sounds. Even the lower tier from that season (Anthony, Scott, Nikko, Mikalah) all had pretty powerful voices and some good performances, even if they had problems with tuning.

Compare that to this lot, where I'm struggling to find anyone with some range and power. Here's hoping some people step up and that last week was not a fair representation. I can't go through another replay of Seasons 12-13 with only 2-4 good singers that can deliver on the big stage.

Belters died once instruments came on the mix, even though the most successful contestants post idol were belters.
