Man, what the hell is this thread?? Not only this report by ign is extremely vague, making gigantic claims about a studio that always showed a lot of respect between each other, but a lot of disrepect in this thread are being aimed towards the good people at Naughty Dog.


I don't know, this doesn't come down to your favorite games or anything like that, Amy Henning is an extremely talented person, that not only wrote the uncharted series, but also was the leader of a gigantic team through the whole uncharted series. She is a passionate person and is a enormous loss for both Naughty Dog and fans of them. I really hope this doesn't turn out true (the ign article "confirmation" sounds iffy to me, i want someone, or her explaining what happenned). Neil and Bruce are also incredible, humble people, who love amy henning and her work, and don't want to work on uncharted anymore. they wouldn't ever do something like force amy out of Naughty Dog.


If this really happenned, i don't know man, i will be so sad and surprised.

EDIT If she doesn't leave the industry then I'm glad she left ND. I loved the plot of the Legacy of Kain games and would love for her to return to Fantasy (or Sci-Fi).

Hopefully Ninja Theory will hire her if they plan on making the same games as last gen.

UC4: Justin Richmond (game director) and Amy Hennig (creative director)

After Uncharted 1, Naughty Dog split the top job into two, with the game director focused on gameplay and the creative director is focused on story.

I have no clue why people suddenly think Neil was in charge of UC2. If you're going to give credit to one of the lead designers (there were two), you may as well credit all the other leads as well.

ND IS MADE UP OF 2 TEAMS

One which was lead by Amy Henning and Justin Richmond (worked on U3 and is the team working on Uncharted PS4)

And Drukman and Straley who worked on the last of us. They have had no involvement with uncharted since uncharted 2, why would they suddenly want to force Henning out?

Hennings team has been working on Uncharted PS4 ever since U3 came out.

Your telling me that Bruce and Neil, who have spent a majority of their time on the last of us, its DLC and have not touched uncharted in about 5 years are suddenly going to but heads with the person writing it, not even a few days since they shipped left behind?

I agree with you. I doubt she was forced to leave. But office politics, man. You can never predict it's course or tell what it's like from the outside.

You'll never get anything official on what really happened. If she was forced out the best you're going to get is anonymously sourced information.

The last thing Sony or ND PR want this to look like is a pair of guys in the company forcing a talented female out of the studio.

If Amy Henning being forced out of Naughty Dog by Druckmann and Straley ends up being true, then yes. Its the same reason I don't buy or support any gearbox game.

Video Games is a hobby for me, and not this intellectual artistic experience many gamers make it out to be. TloU didn't do anything special for, so I think I'll be just fine without their games from here on out if it comes to that.
Amy is one of the few creative directors whose games I am willing to buy without any convincing whatsoever, and is primarily one of the only reasons I've remained interested in Naughty Dog all these years.

Hypothetically, what if Amy was being completely unreasonable about something and Neil and Bruce had no choice but to remove her? I don't think we have enough information about what happened to be acting as if it is some form of bullying by Neil and Bruce occured. That said, if you only like NaughtyDog games because of her I could see why you might not be interested in their games going forward. But to boycott them because of this, IMO, is a bit of an overeaction.

Amy has amazing talent. She won't have any trouble finding another game studio to display her talent. And Naughty Dog can further utilize their most talented creators, for the majority of their games now. I consider this a Win - Win!

If she did, SCE would have confirmed that she would still work for them. It is not something that goes easily unnoticed you know. Shifting from one studio to another studio within WWS always picks our interest, see Allan Becker now at Japan Studio (Ex-SSM).

This is just really surprising. You don't expect turmoil at Naughty Dog, who seemed to be on top of the gaming world. And for it to happen right in the middle of development on their biggest game, it's just strange.
