Naughty "Gods" no more. Gigantic loss. Can not be stated enough. Amy Hennig is amazing. Will be interesting to see how this story develops.

Giraffes, Injured Joel Gameplay, and the two bookended sequences come to mind. That's just about it though.

Have you played Left Behind? It seems like that's pretty much everything you're looking for.

Hell, I stated in the OT that it's essentially what ND wanted to get out of UC3.

Last post before I go. But again it's unfair to put it all on amy why U3 is step below U2. Most of the ND forumers including me put most of it on Richmond. Remember that long ass Chase scene in Yemen? ND don't even know who that guy will be but since they already planned the level Amy has to write a story around it. Guy turned out Talbot the last minute... same goes to that entire ship level. Who the fuck was that pirate lol.

It's just very odd to leave in the middle of the project. The reason must have been something very grave. And I don't believe Neil and Bruce forced her out either.

Wish her all the best.

Crazy. I'm curious as to where she lands and what comes to light from this.

I don't care enough for Uncharted to really worry about the next game, but it will be interesting to see what happens with it.

Sony, ship it as soon as you can. I dont want anyother influence coming near it.
Don't worry. The cutscenes are coming :D

All Bruce and he have talked about is working on a possible TLoU sequel or a new IP that they've been kicking around. They haven't said anything about even being interested in making another Uncharted. It seems like Uncharted 2 was more or less a stepping stone for them to get into a position to make the games they want.
Going to be interesting to watch what happens now.

What in the world. The gameplay was loaded with storytelling. So much of the backstory comes out naturally in dialogue while you're roaming around with Ellie or other characters.
What, go over and press triangle to cue conversation? I'm not talking about conversations, hell all three Uncharted have done that. I'm talking about those unconventional moments that most would apply to a cutscene, like the ones I mention.

I guess the hunting sequence in Winter would be another.

I really hope the forced out rumor is untrue. Ideally, I'd like to continue buying ND products. But some leads that force out top talent aren't worth it.

People can argue about the merits of Hennig's writing or design philosophy over the rest of them, but she's still the creative director of U2 aka the best adventure game ever made. I like TLOU as much as the next guy, but Uncharted is their flagship franchise and as far as I'm concerned Hennig was an integral part of that.

What a ridiculously disrespectful, click-baiting thing to say, IGN. This sounds as bad as the 90s conspiracy theories about Nintendo and I can't believe people would just believe anything. Why the hell would Druckmann and Straley "force out" Hennig? And how? Are they now the heads of ND or something?
Plus Neil and Bruce are probably working on their own thing, I remember Bruce (or was it Neil?) winking at Yoshida on Twitter saying something like "now about that new project"

IF this is true, and that Neil and Bruce are now working on Uncharted 4, then I'm sure it's a decision made by the higher-ups and not what this rumor says. And thankfully, them working on Uncharted 4 would make me 100x hyped about it.

I am sure she will land on her feet. Seems like a big loss for ND.

Playing politics with people is never good.

So it doesn't matter to you at all if they release a quality game? The only reason you would purchase a ND game is because Amy was involved?

If Amy Henning being forced out of Naughty Dog by Druckmann and Straley ends up being true, then yes. Its the same reason I don't buy or support any gearbox game.

Video Games is a hobby for me, and not this intellectual artistic experience many gamers make it out to be. TloU didn't do anything special for, so I think I'll be just fine without their games from here on out if it comes to that.
Amy is one of the few creative directors whose games I am willing to buy without any convincing whatsoever, and is primarily one of the only reasons I've remained interested in Naughty Dog all these years.

They probably disagree with her vision on Uncharted 4, not what she did with Uncharted as a whole.

Maybe she was then took down from being the lead for Uncharted 4. I'd agree with her if she decides to leave after this though. It would take her probably at least another 5 years before she gets another chance to lead another game.

It's better she left for another company as soon as possible. It's not like she won't be in demand, and she'll get to make a game like how she intends it to be.

I don't blame Neil and Bruce for this too, and look forward to how they envision the next Uncharted to be.

Best of luck to her if anything though. She already made LoK and the past 3 Uncharted, two amazing series so I'm looking forward for her next output.

Not yet, cat broke my PS3.

I'm not talking about walking around and just triggering conversations though.
Something similar to the desert, or Injured Joel gameplay.

Or the "trippy" parts with Edward in AC4(if you finished it you know what I am talking about.)

Does anyone know @galactic_bear on Twitter, he has been posting/spamming an aweful lot regarding how Microsoft could hire her. Going on and on about saying that there are evidences of her being forced out, similarly to what teiresias is claiming.

I wish Amy the best in all of her professional endeavors and sincerely hope she lands on her feet soon.

Though, as immensely talented as she is, I would assume MANY companies are already in active communication with her.

God speed Amy.

Left Behind has several interesting spins on the core gameplay that add a lot of characterization and a unique storytelling direction. I know what you like and I think you'll appreciate those moments.

Considering how much better TLoU's story was compared to Uncharted's, I can't say I'm too disappointed that they're the new leads.

Sucks that she was forced out, though.

Because they did something not comparable to Uncharted whatsoever?

The Last of Us is like an indie film compared to Uncharted. Both have their own style.

But I guess since The Last of Us is just The Shit™ now, everything else is fucking crap.

They also work on UC2 and were a major reason why it was so good .
I sorry to see Amy go but Neil and Bruce just as good IMO .

Please expand on this. Pictures of said cat are also welcome.
Never forgive.

This forced out rumor makes NO SENSE!

ND IS MADE UP OF 2 TEAMS

One which was lead by Amy Henning and Justin Richmond (worked on U3 and is the team working on Uncharted PS4)

And Drukman and Straley who worked on the last of us. They have had no involvement with uncharted since uncharted 2, why would they suddenly want to force Henning out?

Hennings team has been working on Uncharted PS4 ever since U3 came out.

Your telling me that Bruce and Neil, who have spent a majority of their time on the last of us, its DLC and have not touched uncharted in about 5 years are suddenly going to but heads with the person writing it, not even a few days since they shipped left behind?

Along with Neil right? It's like we have experimental groups to find out who's the better writer.

UC2: Amy and Neil
UC3: Amy only
TLoU: Neil only

WTF? No. Completely wrong.

UC1: Amy Hennig (game director)
UC2: Bruce Straley (game director) and Amy Hennig (creative director)
UC3: Justin Richmond (game director) and Amy Hennig (creative director)
TLOU: Bruce Straley (game director) and Neil Druckmann (creative director)
UC4: Justin Richmond (game director) and Amy Hennig (creative director)

After Uncharted 1, Naughty Dog split the top job into two, with the game director focused on gameplay and the creative director is focused on story.

I have no clue why people suddenly think Neil was in charge of UC2. If you're going to give credit to one of the lead designers (there were two), you may as well credit all the other leads as well.
